I read this guys post, he said "Khan is the only fighter at 147 that could beat Mayweather HANDS DOWN and that's a fact. These retards really grind my gears. Khan's own trainer said he'd lose if he fought Mayweather.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7xzBfVlxeo
Make the fight!
Its the ebst fight that can be made at 147, if you take Manny out of the equation.
Khan is right, fight him at his own game. Use your speed.
Khan has a better chance than ANYONE at 147 to beat Floyd, that is a stone cold FACT.
You're right, because Mayweather has NEVER fought anyone with speed before. Zab, Corley, Mitchell, Mosley, Corrales, none of those guys were fast handed. LOL, sit down dude. You're saying outbox the boxer? Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight
ORLANDO CRUZ is chasing a slice of sporting history tonight when he bids to become the first openly gay boxer to win a world title. Boxing's macho world was floored when the Puerto Rican made his bombshell admission this year.
Cruz, 32, challenges Orlando Salido for the vacant WBO featherweight crown in Las Vegas and plans to celebrate by marrying his boyfriend.
The 2000 Olympian, who has won 20 of his 23 contests, said: “I feel free to just get on with the boxing.
“I’m not fighting two opponents any longer and that is a great relief. The nights of staying awake and crying are over. Click Here To Read More]
Everyone applauding this guy for coming out of the closet! Big woof, does he deserve an award now? It's not like he discovered the secrets to the damn universe. He's gay, so what? People act like him coming out is such a big thing. Who gives a ****? No one should be surprised by people insulting him because he's gay. Not everyone agrees with the lifestyle and it'll be that way until the end of time. People should stop being so ****ing sensitive and just accept that homosexuality will forever be pissed on. Nobody gives a **** that this guy comes out of the closet or anyone else for that matter. Quit glorifying the **** as if it's a great accomplishment. Only thing he did was open himself up to insults and ridicule.
Cruz is such a brave man and hero. The bigots dont bother him, the haters are his motivators!
His reign starts today!
How is he a hero? Who did he save? What diseases did he cure? How is he brave? Because he opened up about a lifestyle he "chooses" to live? Is that it?
You seem to care a lot! look at how much you're talking about him. Ur just mad he's a hero and you arent:wave:
Just so you know, I've defended this country called America on more than one occasion buddy. This guy is a damn boxer, he hasn't done anything worth calling him a hero. I stood up to my brother, am I damn hero? You've slapped all the "REAL" heroes in the face with this wack *ss comment.
He used his sexual orientation to get a title shot he doesn't deserve. It's just another media freak show. If anything, the gay community should be embarrassed he had to take a shortcut. I suppose I'm ignorant now for saying that. Haha! Don't kill him Salido. You'll be arrested for a hate crime. Funny how gay or straight doesn't matter but we glorify **** for being "brave." Nothing heroic about suckin dick. ****in hypocrites. Oops, there I go being ignorant again.
LMAO!! Preach
Saying Triple G is cherry-picking is like saying Thurman is cherry-picking Collazo...
Triple G is being ducked by guys who can't make 154 but are hiding in the newly formed 155 lb division..
Andre Ward fought at 172..Kovalev was right there..but he ducked Kovalev...he could have easily made that fight as you know... I
..you biased pos might have a point....
Here we go again, mentioning fighters that have nothing to do with this discussion. And to answer your question, Thurman has had decent comp lately. Guerrero, nor Collazo are push overs. They may not be the best, but he's in a position where no one is available. Am I right or wrong on that?
Anywho, how is GGG ducked by guys that aren't fighting in his weight division? But if you say he's being ducked by guys at 154, can you say that he's ducking a guy that fights at 154? Hasn't Lara called him out? Didn't they say Lara didn't have a big enough name? But somehow Monroe Jr, the ESPN fighter did? LOL! Back to Ward, was he suppose to fight Kovalev in his first fight back after 2 years? A guy who is bigger and who has been active? And how could be duck Kovalev is he was never in discussion for a comeback fight?
This statement of your "f Triple G was fighting above 160 and didn't fight Ward while Ward was still fighting at 168" made absolutely no sense. Now you're really losing me! I'm starting to believe that you don't know ***** about boxing. (Roger Mayweather Voice)
Arum is a dirtbag, but people are clearly missing what he's saying here. HBO doesn't want to put Rigo on because of his last performance. It's clearly going to be a difficult job for Arum to get Rigo televised fights on HBO if they don't want to pay to watch him fight. Arum can't MAKE HBO put Rigo on their network. For the boxing fan, Rigo performance was a masterpiece, for the millions of HBO subscribers, the ***** was boring and no one wanted to watch him. Yes, the boxing fans are going to praise Rigo, but do you think HBO for a second gives a ***** about what the boxing public feels? No! If it's going to hurt their ratings to put Rigo on, then their not going to do it. Why do you think they went out and got a familiar name in Agbeko to fight him? Had they brought in Joe Blow, the ***** would likely be on ESPN.
that sounds more like a personal problem. you're kind of making my case for me because the guys that you mentioned, that are still fighting, besides pacquiao, they're all current belt holders......you do know that? the reason why mayweather didn't want the wba belt in the mosley fight is because the fee was close to $700,000 (and i didn't blame him), but guess what in his very next fight, he fought for a belt and beating ortiz didn't do nothing for legacy. martinez chased chavez jr. for 3 years to get that fight, and of course money plaid a major part in the fight, but once again if the belt meant nothing why pay sanctioning fee? but it did mean something. he paid the fee and he got his belt back.
Again, those belts are great for promoting a fight. Martinez chased the name of Chavez jr, because he saw the same thing that Top Rank sees in Chavez Jr. A son of a legend that they can market and $$$$. Ortiz was an easy belt for Floyd, why not take it and have something to promote his next fight with? Same thing with Martinez, have the belt and use it as a promotional tool. You really think Martinez wanted that belt when he is the lineal champ? I think not. Those belts don't mean anything guy, besides a great promotional tool. If every fighter had the reputation and popularity of Marquez and Pac there would be no need for belts, because they could promote the fights without them. Your argument was go back and get your belt, but that's a mute point to a fighter of Pac caliber. Yeah they'll fight for a belt, but do you really think that it matters if the belt was at stake or not? If it was, he'd be in a rematch bout with Bradley instead of Marquez.
Robert Guerrero (30-1-1, 18KOs) is putting some hard work at his training camp in Las Vegas, preparing himself for a high profile welterweight clash against former two-time champion Andre Berto (28-1, 22KOs). Guerrero stakes his WBC interim-title against Berto on November 24th at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California. The fight headlines an HBO televised tripleheader.

Guerrero gets stopped in 8
This doesn't bode well for Ward.
He has to understand, that in today's sports world when someone is doing amazing things, the suspicion of cheating will always be there. Particularly when you refuse to take drug test.
Ward did what he felt was necessary. Rodriguez could have mentioned VADA testing way before the contracts were signed. Would you purchase a car and after you've made your down payment, the car dealership says we need to add $5,000 dollars to the amount of your vehicle, are you going to say ok or will you be opposed of it? Rodriquez and his camp should have mentioned it during negotiations, not after the damn contracts have been signed. That's his fault! Ward is the champ, if he refused the testing than that's that. It wouldn't have mattered either way, Rodriquez got his *ss handed to him.
Ruslan made $600K in his fight with Alvarado. Not bad for a newly christened star in boxing, compared to say, Mares, whose biggest purse so far was his undercard fight in the Mayweather/Guerrero fight which was $300K.
Who would want to go to Showtime if he's already making the kind of money he's making even familiar names like Lara and others don't make.
Provodnikov does fight in the two weight classes that are demanding the most attention. Rigo's biggest purse came against one of the top faces in boxing, it's unlikely that he'll receive that same purse for Agbeko.
Dues just like everyone else! Who has Thurman fought of any significance? How did that fight even end up on HBO? How did Thurman end up on HBO? Dude has literally fought 6 guys with winning records and he's calling out superstars? Really? And by the way, Paulie is the full WBA champ. Last person to hold the title was Mosley when he was defeated by Mayweather. What dues? LMFAO, get over yourself Paulie. You know youre just keeping that Interim belt warm.
You struggled with Ortiz and Khan but Matthysse is a cakewalk....hm.
Excuse me sir, who hasn't struggled with Ortiz and Khan? Ortiz gave Mayweather trouble in spots. Khan has pretty much beaten everyone he's fought with the exception of Prescott. He was actually beating Garcia before he got caught, so I ask again who hasn't struggled with those two? Ortiz has Maidan, another Argentine down three times. He's dropped everyone with the exception of Floyd and Lopez. So, again who hasn't struggled with Ortiz and Khan? Matthysse biggest fights were against Alexander and Judah, two fights in which he gave away rounds by not throwing punches. Again, who hasn't struggled with Ortiz and Khan?
Alexander Kahl, the 36-year old heavyweight trialhorse with a heavily padded record, continued his downslide losing within a round for the fourth time in a row. It took local prospect Agit Kabayel (7-0, 5 KOs) just 81 seconds to get the job done, while scoring two knockdowns in process. Kahl is now 18-11-1, 16 KOs with a TKO 1 loss to 1-10-2 fighter. The 21-year old Turk needs a step up in class.

Aydin is trash! I couldn't compete at 147, so I'm gonna go down in weight and pick on the smaller fighters. Really? Why not stay at 147 and try to redeem yourself by avenging your losses? He was competitive in the Guerrero fight, as well as the Soto-Karass fight. Thomas Dulorme. Lose a fight and haul ass to the smaller weight class. I've lost all respect for Aydin, I actually thought he would be a decent fighter at 147.
Why would Miguel not be ok with going down to 150 for this fight, when that's the demand he put forth to Antonio Margarito for their rematch?
Seems pretty hypocritical to me.
Not that I wanted to see a Cotto/Pacman rematch anyway, just saying.
It was a request and that request wasn't met. That's the reason they fought at 153 instead. Cotto wasn't going to make 150 safely himself, that's why they both agreed on 153.
Oh yeah, because a fighter fighting in his hometown isn't an advantage for him lol...
So Roy Jones ducking that boy in Germany was for what reason again?
Floyd always fighting in Vegas...
Juan Diaz in Texas...
Because you're a FIomo and now converted to a member of the Gay for Andre club..all of a sudden where the fight takes place doesn't matter :pat:
How many close fights has Ward had? Which fight did hometown advantage benefit him? What fight did he almost lose? Don't worry I'll wait!! And what does Roy Jones have to do with this? What does Floyd Mayweather have to do with this? What does Juan Diaz have to do with this?
Your argument has been blown to bits and you're now attempting to change the subject and mention names that have zero relevance to this discussion. LOL! I'm gonna need you to do better. Again, how many close fights has Ward had????
Aydin was ranked # 1 you dip sh it.
He was ranked #1 by the WBC dick! Nationally he's ranked 23rd. GTFOH! Like I said, he's not a top ranked fighter. Just because one freakin sanctioning body recognizes him as THEIR top contender doesn't mean he's going to be nationally ranked at #1. Get it together dick...
I bet you were not defending Manny Pacquiao when he refused to take a drug test were you?
Oh the hypocrisy of some fans!
Actually I was behind Manny 100%! Floyd hadn't asked any fighter before Manny to take a test. I went on record (boxingscene) stating that if Floyd really wanted to clean up the sport, he'd be going at the commissions to have the drug testing procedures changed and not at the individual. So before you throw hypocrisy around, maybe you should ask first. And bringing up Manny doesn't support your argument. The situation with Manny and Floyd was different as those two were NEGOTIATING to fight, as Ward and Rodriguez was already SIGNED! What part of that do you NOT understand?
This has already been refuted, Bruseles, trained by Cotto Sr was sent in 4 reconnaissance, after fighting Floyd and losing there was no further speculation. Floyd also retired because he enjoyed the dough from the De La Hoya fight. Most boxers that return from Ring Hiatus are never the same or lose a bit anyway, Ali, Tyson, Holmes etc.
Exactly!!! When Floyd fought Bruselles, he was still signed under Top Rank. As you stated, Bruselles was trained by Evangalista Cotto and Bruselles mimicked Cotto's fighting style. It was a test to see how Mayweather would fair against Cotto. Once he destroyed Bruselles, they didn't mention a fight between Mayweather and Cotto until after Mayweather left Top Rank. Floyd took a few years off after he defeated Ricky Hatton. Once he came back, he was still the same fighter, possibly better.
This wont help him get a fight with Martinez.......at all.
If anything this KO made his chances worse.
The "he hasn't fought anyone" excuse will be used to stay
away from this dude.
Sooooooo, who has he fought to dismiss that claim????? All I need is one person of significance, just one person who was ranked in the top ten. Doesn't have to be a current ten fighter, he can be last years top ten...Matter of fact, name a top 20 fighter he's fought in his division that would warrant him a fight with anyone of the top middleweights?
Why does Floyd need a CW in a weight class where he has fought at the limit twice before?
Why does the p4p 1 fighter need a CW?
Why even mention a weight you can't make if you really can't make it or fight at full strength? He handicapped himself! Dawson challenged Ward at 168 and hadn't fought at that weight in several years. Did Ward say, "no man let's fight at 175?" He sure didn't, he took the fight knowing he had an advantage going in. Canelo is at fault for even mentioning coming down in weight. That's not Floyd's fault.
What you guys don't realize is Garcia barely beat Kendall Holt; so Holt was able to walk through those left hands. Nate Campbell also took those left hands very well. In the same breath, Garcia has vastly improved since those fights.
Just as Garcia, Mathysse has improved since the Judah and Alexander fights and is making mental points before the bouts not to leave the fight in the judges hands.
Now let's assess the situation. Does Mathysse have a better chin than Morales and Khan? I think so. Heck, Holt and Campbell made it. I don't think Garcia is some knockout king. I think he's very good at timing his punches and he does have a lot of power. But I don't think his power would carry over like a few people think it would against someone with a proven chin like Mathysse or Rios. If it does, then we should anoint Garcia as the KO king, but until then, we might as well call Breidis Prescott the KO king also, but instead he KO'd Khan worse than Garcia did.
Point is, both fighters have vastly improved since their bouts with Holt/Campbell/Judah/Alexander. But if we're going off each fighters most significant wins, I don't think a TKO over Khan and KO over Morales means Garcia can hurt Mathysse because like I said, Campbell and Holt took same those shots just fine.
The only issue I have with comparing the fights is Campbell is a whiz defensively. He's crafty and Garcia didn't land any big shots on Campbell, he simply outworked Campbell. If you watch that fight, Campbell using the shoulder roll and catching many of Garcia's left hooks on the glove or ducking them. The Holt fight I actually saw as a UD for Garcia, but the judges saw an SD. Holt didn't deserve a SD because he just wasn't active enough. And I'm in agreement that both fighters have improved since then, but in my opinion Garcia has fought the better competition. I've never been high on Alexander because he is ridiculously flawed, his athleticism saves him in his fights. Judah, the most experienced fighter Matthysse has ever faced managed the pace up until the knockdown. I still see Garcia beating Matthysse.
He doesn't deserve it!
I'll say this, I get where the writer is coming from, but I wouldn't have been as forward as he was. In so many words, he's just stating that Guerrero should actually work his way up to such a fight instead of clamoring for a fight without any significant victories. Let's be real here, Aydin was just a showcase fight for Guerrero, plain and simple. He's a fighter with limited skills, decent power and nothing more. He's slow in hand and foot speed. That's the reason he was chosen by Goldenboy to fight Guerrero in his hometown. Had the fight been close, I guarantee that Guerrero would have received the win.
Another thing the writer is pointing out is, that Guerrero used this win to say that he's beaten the best in the division! Really? Aydin? He's not even top 10, 15 or 20 welterweights, so how would this win warrant a fight with a Ortiz, Berto or Malignaggi, let alone Floyd Mayweather? Because he's mandatory now? Really? When was the last time Floyd fought a Mandatory? As a matter of fact, when was the last time any big time PPV fight fought a mandatory? The fact that his resume is subpar and he feels that he's done enough to warrant such a fight is ridiculous on his part. His best wins are Aydin (23rd WW), Katsidis (17 LW at the time), Casamayor (not even ranked in top 25 LW) and Erik Aiken who won the title of a blind shot. Salido kicked his ass, which is really his B possible A level fighter that he's faced. True Salido tested positive for banned substance, but I believe he would have kicked Guerrero's ass without the substance. All this author is trying to convey is that Guerrero has done absolutely jack **** to warrant a fight with any of the top WW's.
So, every interview that I read with Guerrero concerning this fight, he keeps mentioning how he feels that Mayweather has "slipped" and he's basing this solely off of the Cotto fight. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Cotto a sure fire future Hall of Famer? I'm gonna go on a really big limb and say, Yes! When Guerrero says that, he's basically comparing himself to Cotto! If Robert paid attention to the fight Mayweather/Cotto, he would have noticed that one punch landed regularly for Cotto and that was his jab. Beyond that, everything else caught shoulders and elbows. Robert doesn't have the speed of a Cotto, nor the jab. He feels fighting on the inside like he fought Berto will aid him in winning. Well, Mayweather fought Chavez, Corley, Hatton, Cotto, Augustus, and taller, longer Ndou on the inside. What can Guerrero show Mayweather that he hasn't already seen? Maybe he's hyping himself up because of the Berto win, but a boxing mind would have realized that Berto can't fight on the inside and he struggles with southpaws. Point noted, Berto's toughest fights have come from three southpaws starting with Collazo, then Ortiz and then Guerrero. You could argue he lost against Collazo as well and let's not forget the first time Berto was ever knocked down was against Cosme Rivera in the SOUTHPAW stance. He was also knocked down by Carlos Quintana, another southpaw. Starting to see the trend here? Berto is no Mayweather point blank! All the southpaws Mayweather's faced have been quicker, possessed more power and had better boxing skills than that of Guerrero. So I ask again, what can Guerrero show Mayweather that he hasn't already seen? This will be a glorified sparring session with one of three things happening, Mayweather by UD, Mayweather by TKO or Mayweather by KO.
If “Fighter of the Decade” Manny Pacquiao’s mother gets her wish, the eight division world champion will knock out Juan Manuel Marquez in one or two rounds.
Pacquiao and celebrated trainer Freddie Roach have both indicated that only a knockout will help erase the doubts over their three previous encounters, the last of which was the most controversial when Pacquiao won a split decision.

LOL! Pac mom said this? And this coming from a woman who can't even watch her son fight? LMAO, this article is trash...
ggg is the star of all stars. if Ward wants to share the ring with him then he better move down in weight, accept a generous 40-60 split and do everything ggg asks to make the fight happen. Anything rejected would be a duck on Dre's part
Star of all stars? You sound ridiculous. Why would Ward move down in weight, when GGG was the guy who stated he'd fight anyone from 160-175? Why would he give the less popular fighter 60/40 split? And how would rejecting such a ridiculous offer be ducking GGG, when GGG and his camp have openly dismissed a Ward fight? Please be quiet!!! That would really do you some good to just be quiet!!!
LMAO. Learn boxing my man. Did you even watch that fight? Matthysse took every punch and the kitchen sink from him, and kept coming forward, throwing bombs. How many fighters can deal with a guy like Matthysse? Actually how many fighters can fight like Matthysse. It's not that Ajose didn't look world class. It's that Matthysse literally looked like the Terminator in there.
Learn boxing? You should take your own advice guy! Ajose isn't a puncher, he's built his record on the same garbage fighters as himself. It wouldn't be too hard to walk threw his punches guy! There are plenty of guys who can deal with "fighters" like Matthysee. He's not the first fundamental pressure fighter to box dude. You can't expect Ajose to perform like a world beater when he's never fought anyone at that class. He's a C fighter at best, put him in with any of the top 10 JWW in boxing and he gets stopped. Hell, put him in with Demarcus Corley and bet he gets chopped up. Clearly you don't have an eye for boxing, as you would see that Ajose isn't the fighter you think he is. Throwing bombs, :nono:
