i dont think there is anything wrong with backing a fighter from your country. The fighter is representing your country so we could atleast support him. Just bacause i support the fighter it doesnt mean i think he is gonna win.
Atlas is alright... He still can't call a pro boxing match for shit.
----------------------------------------------------------
I disagree on the call part, i like his style, he gives tactical insight and lets you know what a boxer is trying to do or what punch he is trying to set up. What else can you ask for from a commentater. I think he is one of the best out there...
yeah teddy atlas is cool, im in australia i see him commentate on wednesday night fights and friday night fights on espn, he really knows what hes talking about and his demonstrations are awesome (he has good technique). Ive always respected teddy and have always thought he is the man. Love his work.
I think he has done alot since tyson. He isnt still living of his achievments from 15 years ago. He has proven he has boxing knowledge and its his personality that gives him a permanent position as a commentater. Why cant people respect people achievments. I respect the man.
In my point of view, not at all, not in Boxing. I mean isn't Olympic boxing scored differently?
Plus they won't hesitate to rob you of that gold if they feel they need to. Rob you of a gold medal that will ultimately do nothing for you other then make you feel good?
When you turn pro, you'll get plenty of same international comp, and at the same time you'll get propper praise from the fans and experts.
I'm not sayin "f#$% the olympics lol," but definantly don't let it get to you if you lose a chance at the Gold. It's not that big of a deal. You got a professional career to prepare for.
----------------------------------------------
try telling a olympic athlete his gold medal doesnt mean anything after all the hard hours of training, all the dedication, all the sacrifises to compete at the elite level in your sport.
i do see your argument, the pros is where it really counts, but making it to the olympics is a massive achievment in itself. you cant say a gold medal doesnt actually count.
I'm tryin to read up on whats goin on, and these fighters better not take these losses to heart. But somthin tells me they will, they're in the spotlight right now, and everyones talkin about them. They sound real inexperienced and just need to let this go and they need to make sure they DO NOT let this effect them when they turn pro. Especially if pro-fight scoring is BLATANTLY different then olympic scoring.
So you lost a chance at Gold, you have to go home early. Use that early time to sharpen up for some fights that will actually matter.]
----------------------------------------------
so your saying an olympic gold medal doesnt actually matter
