Yes.
Since manny has been p4p, who has he beaten that Floyd didn't/couldn't?
easy, the man you said would be p4p no.1 if marquez beats floyd. and whether we like it or not, pac has an official win over jmm in a very close fight.
which people think he actaully lost
the same way that many people, including me, thought castillo won the first fight with floyd. but look pbf is still 39-0, meaning officially he beat castillo on both fights.
in a close fight, people can argue that either fighter won. in the end you cannot call it a robbery, whoever wins. that's the reason they put judges in there.
so, even if jmm beats floyd, pac's still got a win over jmm, thus the p4p no.1 remains with pac.
False. He would be fighting lesser quality fighters and all that would do is PROVE he needs to fight a HOF fighter like FMJ.
what??!!! didnt pac already fought HOF fighters like marquez, morales, barrera and dela hoya?
not the toughest, as that criteria goes to hatton, castillo, gatti and corrales, but probably the highest ranked P4P fighter he has ever fought.
but i dont believe that it is an easy fight for pbf, styles makes fights. although floyd is a defensive genius, marquez would make him pay dearly for every punch he throws by counterpunching beautifully.
i believe that pbf punches harder and stronger of the two but jmm would not go away easily, he is also one tough bastard, who has never been stopped. although he has been KD several times, it only shows that marquez has a great recuperative power and a great heart to overcome adversity.
i'd love to see another donaire-darchinyan fight, but i wouldnt complain if donaire moves to bantamweight and fights fernando montiel.
donaire-montiel fight has fireworks written all over it. two great fighters with contrasting styles, donaire with his patient, powerful and precise counterpunching, and montiel with his aggressive, volume punching style.
Juanma Lopez is the better, faster and stronger boxer in this fight but Gerry is a true warrior. Can't believe he is still throwing some good counters while being punished with a lot of power shots.
Mad respect for both fighters.
This quitter still won't retire?
JuanMa gave his ass brain damage and he still wants to fight.
:bottle:
that quitter is a million times more of a man than your retarded self.
LOL! gotta love hatton's confidence but i dont think its that easy to beat pacquiao. if he's able to neutralize pac's speed and put him on the ropes more often, he would surely have a great chance of beating manny.
the name of the game for ricky is roughhouse, brawling style. he must take away pacquiao's ability to dart in and out to deliver crisp combos. and for pacquiao, well he just have to stay true to his style which is blinding fast combinations, lots of footworks and feints.
in boxing talent and skills will produce champions. in mma, specifically ufc a little talent/skills and tons of luck will produce champions.
it is much better to watch a homogenous martial arts than a mix martial arts contest. this coming from a man who has backgrounds in taekwondo, judo and aikido.
Honestly, im tired of this legacy crap people keep talking about. Thanks to Bernard Hopkins everybody is talking about legacy this, legacy that.
You must be new to boxing, because before pacquiao came along Juan Manuel Marquez already had a deep name in boxing. Everybody respected him and his skills, so much that Nassem Hamed did everything he could to avoid him. Marquez will not onlyl be known for his fight with pacquiao but for his excellant boxing skills, his great counter punching ability. West Coast, knew about Marquez years before pacquiao hit the scene. Juan Manual Marquez comes from the Great Western Fourm fighters who fought regularly on tv in the Great Western Fourm. The people who know Marquez only for his fight with pacquiao are, once and awhile boxing fans, they are the ones that go to the hyped fights only.
Marquez schooled pacquiao, shame on pacquiao for not finishing the job after three knockdown, then again, knock Marquez down 4 times and he's still getting up and going to school you the rest of the rounds.
It took a trip deep into the jungles of Indonisia to robb Marquez of his victory over John.
You may not want to give Terdsak credit for his effort but he went 12 rounds with Juan Guzman and Marquez tko'd him in less then 8 and knocked him down twice.
Sorry bro, you are wrong Manny arrived at the top of boxing much earlier than Marquez. Pacquiao became world champion first in 1998 while Marquez became one only in 2003. Plus Pacquiao won his 2nd title at another weight division in 2001 way before marquez took his first. Pacquiao was already a 2-weight division champion and a household name, especially in asia, even before Marquez caught the attention of boxing fans.
As for marquez schooling pacquiao, do not let your nationalistic bias cloud your better judgement. It's true that marquez has great boxing skills and its also true that he came back strongly from 3 knockdowns in the first round, to give pacquiao a tough fight. From the 3rd round up to the 12th round, it was a close and competitive fight. I scored the last 10 rounds 7 to 3 for marquez, although you can make a case that 7 of those last 10 round could go either to marquez or pacquiao's way with only a comnbined 3 rounds that are clearly for marquez and pacquiao. And by saying that, it is quite clear that nobody dominated the last 10 rounds emphatically, therefore JMM did not schooled Pacquiao. All we can say is that he won more rounds than pacquiao 7 to 5, with that it is clear that Pacquiao won the fight 113-112 because of the 10-6 score in the first round. :)
Cheers!
can't believe that people are already writing off peñalosa, although it is understandable coming from a PR fan. juanma is a very good fighter and he is younger, faster and more powerful. and i believe that he would get better as he gains experience.
but as i see it, this is not a walk in the park for lopez and gerry would give a tough fight on this one. juanma better bring all of his boxing skills and talent on this fight or else, peñalosa might upset him just like what he did against jhonny gonzales.
