Maidana beats Rios easier than he beat Josesito Lopez.
Rios would come forward and plot.
As Rios does this, Maidana would take a step back or to the left or right while jabbing. Then -- when Rios least expects it -- Maidana would lead with power shots.
El Chino executed this strategy against Broner and it was very effective.
The only way Rios beats Maidana is at lightweight, lol. Brandon is an irresponsible lightweight. That and he balloons up inbetween fights, but Maidana stays in shape year round like Bernard Hopkins.
Must say the All Access is always awesome.
It wont happen, but a Maidana win would be the biggest shock in ages.
Mayweather is gonna come in well prepared. Only way Maidana wins is if he lands a punch. I like this fight because Maidana has a puncher's chance. Mayweather will display his best tools. Maidana could bring out the best Mayweather we've ever seen.
Oddsmakers are in the business of making money. Maidana is a huge underdog for a reason. He is not comparable in skill to a Floyd Mayweather. By the 6th round, Maidana will be looking bewildered. You can't duplicate training for a Mayweather because there isn't anything like him in boxing. Canelo is a real boxer, what did he do, walked him down.

PC: People don't seem to think of Floyd as imposing, but he did actually walk Shane down in that fight.
EMM: I've seen Floyd walk middleweights down in the gym; walk 'em down. I've seen it myself, so when Floyd got hit with that right hand by Shane, I knew exactly what he was going to do; hands up, walk him down and break him down and that's exactly what he did.
The bolded is what is going to happen, that's what is awesome about this fight. Floyd is going to let the hands go. You can see it in the sparring clips out, he's letting them go.
That would be beautiful!
But...
I don't want to see my boy Money May get caught with some dumb sh*t because he decided to walk Maidana down. Just let that bull come forward and run into sh*t.
Maidana is crafty. Walk him down at your own risk.
Mayweather is not in his prime anymore, what, did you start watchign boxing yesterday? lol @ that statement.
Mayweather ain't been in his prime since he beat Marquez, although I agree he'll thoroughly beat Maidana regardless. Besides, he'll be 49-0, not 50-0 when his contract is up.
Why don't you think he is still in his prime? What are your reasons?
Mayweather is not like most boxers; He's in the one percentile, for sure. As a boxer, as a man, as a human body, Money Mayweather is still in his prime.
Boxing wise, body wise, and mentality wise, he's in his prime.
the last fight Floyd was in his prime was the hatton fight, imo.
What you have to realize is that -- unlike most boxers -- Mayweather does not solely rely on his physicality. His fights are won in the gym, press conferences, and weigh-in's.
Mayweather by boxing lesson.
I don't think Floyd is in his prime physically, but it's not like he is considerably slower. I would take this version of Floyd over 2007 Floyd in a matchup. He controls fights far better then he did pre retirement.
I respect you. Even though you're a Maidana fan -- as am I to a certain extent -- you give Mayweather his well-deserved props. You're cool.
Just 1 Sunday way from what should be the most shocking aftermath in boxing history.
And we'll get to witness it in our generation.
#45-1 #MayThirdMayHurt #Believe
Mayweather is still in his prime though, and he is a very, very, very smart boxer. He knows what El Chino brings -- and come May 3rd -- he's gonna disarm the scary puncher bad guy from Argentina. Send him back to Margarita, Sante Fe with a black eye and a paycheck.
#46-0 #FourMoreWinsToTieMarciano'sRecord #50-0?
I just rewatched Mayweather-Canelo and I must say...
Mayweather was getting nailed by right-handed rabbit punches from Alvarez in the clinch. More than once... He keeps his left hand down.
I've seen Marcos Maidana wobble fighters with a single right hand rabbit punch/ear shot. Namely Josesito Lopez.
Go to 8:33 to see what I'm talking about.
Who has Maidana fought on the same level as Floyd; lets be honest other Ortiz Maidana more than likely loses to all then and is 50/50 with Guerrero.
If you're talking about boxing skills and world class opposition...
Devon Alexander has good boxing skills, athleticism, speed, toughness, heart, etc. So did Amir Khan at the time he fought El Chino. That Khan was in his prime with Alex Ariza in his corner.
Mayweather -- as good as he is -- is a lot of media hype. I'm not dissing Floyd. But other fighters get downplayed. Some of Maidana's recent opposition have been very good and at very good stages in their careers!
Case in point...
Mayweather himself said that Devon Alexander was a frontrunner to fight him on his Showtime debut. This was before he chose Robert Guerrero.
Guess what? Maidana already fought him! Even though Marcos lost he gained experienced and learned. He improved after that.
A pot shot and clinch wasn't gonna be the blueprint to beat Maidana. Broner found that out the hard way, so did Josesito Lopez. Also, you can't bully around Maidana! Jesus Soto Karass tried that and got bodied. Broner should have learned that walking down Chino is a no-no. Mayweather won't try to walk down Maidana; he knows better.
Another opponent Maidana gained XP from is Amir Khan, who Mayweather was, once again, considering to fight!
Maidana has world class experience. Don't believe the Mayweather hype that his defense is invinsible.
Maidana is a real boxer -- head movement, experience, underrated footwork, underrated speed, power, volume punching, faints, throwaway punches, well-timed combinations. He reminds me of a brawler version of Hopkins. Mayweather is gonna have to dot all his i's and cross all his t's. Maidana is real, not a hypejob.
You got this, Money May! Use your boxing skills!
I think Porter fights like Bradley kind of but he has stronger legs and when he steps in he just seems to be more powerful when he delivers his shots.
Naw... he fights like Mike Tyson and Sugar Shane Mosley.
i'm just glad Broner was watching
that's how you properly dispatch that loud mouth...not go 12 rounds and struggle for a decision win
Broner probably thinks,
"Damn... this dude could probably knock me out."
Like Shane I can see it, but not like Mike, not even close
Porter throws that lead, leaping left hook just like prime Mike Tyson. Only thing is Porter doesn't do the peek-a-boo stance.
pretty legit. he's strong. he'll bother you when you're covering up. he hits hard in clinches. he's just a strong, physical guy.
that leaping left hook he threw was scary. paulie is going to have nightmares about that thing, if he remembers it at all.
Porter-Malignaggi is a reminder that boxing is not a f*cking game. Right hands are bad for ya health. Left hooks are bad for ya health. Big dicks in ya ass are bad for ya health.
Lol at your sig
Yeah... I'm pretty sure it's Mayweather's chef who he's groping. He's the champ; can cop a feel whenever he wants. I bet he f*cks all his female employees.
ppl used to compare him to a young shane mosley, i can definitely see it. prime shane was a baaad man with incredible speed and power
Prime Mosley at lightweight was scary good.
Is it me or anyone else ever heard about the rumor that Maidana and his friends were driving in highway and got crushed into dump truck and 2 of his friends became half vegie but Maidana was just fainted out for hours and walked outside of hospital that day.
Plusif you notice Maidana gets knock downs often, but his boney ass chick bone reduces his damage and make it recover real quick from damage. He doesn't get up so immediately when he's having serious damage. (ex : First knock down by Ortiz he got up within 1 second)
Your post is hard to comprehend. So you're saying since Maidana survived a car accident it made him tougher?
Maidana's arms -- his biceps, triceps, forearms, and hands are huge. It's fitting since he's a strong brawler.
Also, his upper body is fully developed. He has shoulders and traps. His legs look strong too.
