You people who pick Tyson honestly need your head examined. The guy has lost like 5 of his last 7 fights...or something like that. Tyson would get beat pretty much the same way he did against Lennox Lewis.
He should stop running his mouth if he has no intention of coming back as he's giving the haters excuses to hate him even more.
Lennox was a amazing Champion and he was the Greatest Heavyweight of the modern era. When he busted up Vitali he proved himself to be top dog still. How many other fighters have done that to Vitali? The answer is simple......NONE [/QUOTE
Yeah, but he was also lucky against Vitali. If that fight goes one or two more rounds, they go to the scorecards, and Vitali wins. That is why if they let the fight go a round or two, we might have had a different champ. It is ashame Vitali got hit with that one punch that cut him badly.
I am excited about this fight with Vitali and Rahman because I have no idea what will happen. If it gets to round 8 or 9 I like Vitali's chances a lot better...but early on he is going to have to be very careful with Rahman.
At this point, I would take any fight that positions Vitali against anyone with a belt to unify the titles. I would like nothing better than for him to knock Ruiz out once and for all. But first he has to beat Williams tonight. I don't like Ruiz style, but I am glad SOMEONE is finally talking about trying to unify the belts other than Vitali. Chris Byrd looking to fight the guys he picked earlier this week was really, really weak.
Does anybody know if there is an undercard on the Klitschko/Williams fight on Saturday, December 11th? I have to go to a Christmas Party at 7PM, but later that night I am going to my in laws who get PPV half price to see the Klitschko fight...kind of bummed it is on PPV at all. Anyhow, will he fight exactly at 9PM, or is there a big undercard where he might not fight until 10:30PM? If it is at 9PM I am going to have to have it taped....Anyhow, please let me know what time Vitali will fight. Thanks.
Guess no one knows. :(
Vitali is entertaining....I don't know what the heck you are talking about. He doesn't back off and clutch people like Ruiz. He doesn't hit you will little jabs then duck away like Byrd. He has put some serious hurt on his opponents and forced some of them to retire. I think Vitali has more power than you think, and I think he doesn't go for the knockout blow because he has faced heavier, more dangerous opponents, who can take a lot of punishment, like Sanders and Williams. I think had he gone for broke he might have knocked them out earlier, but let's face it, Vitali has won all but one of his 35 fights by KO or TKO. That is what fans want.
I agree...I would never count Lennox out and if he comes in at his normal weight and takes Vitali seriously then I dont see him having any problem beating him. Just my opinion (and yeah I realize its not the most popular one on this issue :D )
I think Lewis would try to end the fight early. I don't think he wants to take sustainable damage from Vitali. He doesn't want this thing dragging on 8 or 9 rounds. If Lewis failed to get Vitali early and got knocked out in the 6th round or later...I think Lewis would stay down. I don't see him trying to get up at all.
I think there would be more buys than you think, but why should anyone have to buy it? Why couldn't HBO put it on regular HBO Boxing? It is a title fight, it should be televised by somebody. Valuev is undefeated and should promote at least some intrigue.
Is it canceled for good or just pushed back a month? I hope it is not canceled for good...this stinks. I don't mind that it is not April 30 because I had to go to a late wedding that day in Maryland...
I wouldn't say it in those terms or words, but you are right. Why people have still believed Tyson could be heavyweight champ for the last 2 or 3 years is a mystery to me. He has been shot for so long and does not deserve any chances even at top 15 fighters!
