How does boxing expect to go anywhere with the public and not televise heavyweight championship bouts? First it was Brewster/Krasniqi, and now Ruiz/Valuev, and we get to see neither title match. And both even involved Americans! I encourage you to contact HBO or Showtime and let them know how you feel about this...maybe enough outrage would change their mind. 2005 has stunk for fights, and now the one fight I was looking forward to at least a little in Ruiz/Valuev won't be shown. Boxing likes to show us the regular season but when it gets to playoffs and World Series, they block it out? Great way to get ratings, guys!

someone should be applauded for not showing crap like that...hooray!
How can you call this the World Series of boxing? Heavyweight boxing is at it's worst right now and I'm glad they aren't showing it. There is more to boxing than heavyweights and if the "normal sports fan" can't figure that out then they shouldn't watch boxing at all.
I think there would be more buys than you think, but why should anyone have to buy it? Why couldn't HBO put it on regular HBO Boxing? It is a title fight, it should be televised by somebody. Valuev is undefeated and should promote at least some intrigue.

this fight is either going to end early or be boring as hell
if it were televised, there would be very few buys
Why televise German boxing? It gives boxing a black eye every time I see a fight take place in Germany.
This is true it must be the most crooked place to hold em......They might as well start having fights in Don Kings backyard.
