It's not about the discipline. It's about the fighter.
Whoever hits the target first!
I'm from the Philippines and Krista Ranillo is sooooooooooo damn hot! Doesn't have a perfect body though but it's her sex appeal. Man! I wouldn't blame Manny.
isnt that black guy the Grahm guy who was banned from the Olympics for giving his atheletes steroids?
Yeah. In this training he actually injected steroids to the stick and used it on Manny.
Manny's offense is still predictable until now. BUT... His speed has consistently improved that even if you know what he's going to do there is still about 90% chance his attack will succeed.
Unless... you're as fast as him.
Before = yes. But he gets away with it because he's faint then power left bomb is soo fast nobody can see it. And his double jab left straight is too fast for most of his opponents
Now = Now. THe right hook off the jab. the lead left, the feint then left straight. right hoolk to body. the 10 hits combo. the Pac-a-rope. lead right then uppercut.
It's always a surprise at the BIG FIGHT
That is hand speed.
I think what a 'predictable offense', with regards to Manny, would be:
1. Direction (body movement and footwork)
2. Rhythm & timing
3. Psychology
Is mayweather's defense that good that all of you got shut even with a thread? LOL.
What I think when floyd does number 4(bend forward), manny can catch him with an upper cut like what he did to cotto.
When floyd does 1-3, I think pac can use his sideways movement and catch him on the right side.
What you guys think?
hmmm... I don't think so.
Floyd won't bend unless there's a punch coming from Manny. by the time Manny throws the uppercut, Floyd would have already leaned backwards or whatever he does to avoid it.
For Manny to break Floyd's defense is to use fakes and potshots himself. Floyd has almost perfected the skill of adapting to his opponents rhythm so a flurry from Manny won't really help if Floyd is still fresh and alert.
Floyd can be beat if:
1. Manny uses fakes.
2. Manny throws potshots of his own specially his sneaky left straight then duck and move to the right to avoid counter.
3. Of course when the time is right then he can flurry on Floyd and knock him out or cut his face or just merely score points.
But of course I'm no Freddie Roach. Just my humble opinion.
Yes hes predictable. He always says these lines in his interviews
"This is gonna be a great great fight."
"I will try my best to give a good fight."
"I just got lucky. My is strong. He's tough."
"I dedicate this fight to my countrymen." "
"I wanna thank all the people that came here especially the politicians and the vice-president of the Philippines"
dude, they're talking about his offense :boxing:
Interesting analogy. I don't play much chess. Can you tell me how much of a challenge it was for Kasparov to adjust to a different style of play? Do you think Manny could tweak his style in the amount of time given?
If you switch his style up too much and he loses, then Manny along with Roach will be criticized for not playing to their strength. By the same token if they win by switching up their strategy, they will be labeled genius.
It's a tough call.
Kasparov's technique is very aggressive, unafraid to make sacrifices here and there - even sacrificing his Queen to compensate for a favorable position and a sure win. His games were mostly flashy and shining out throughout tournaments. They were amazing, exciting to watch, breath taking, etc...
Karpov was the master of positional and defensive play. His technique was very very solid. However his fights were also very boring and were a lot of times criticized for not going for the kill given the opportunity. But when a game against Karpov reached more than 40 moves, that usually means the opponent is losing.
So aggressive and amazing as Kasparov was, he just wasn't able to implement his technique against Karpov effectively. For every offensive move he makes Karpov always had a counter-attack of his own or even just refute the attack and still play solidly and eventually gain the position and win. Anyway it was a series of games so Kasparov later realized he needed to change his style of playing. He eventually adapted to Karpov's style of positional and solid play. He stopped throwing sacrifices and played soundly and carefully. Eventually he gained more wins and won the crown.
It is just interesting to note that for each of Kasparov's games against defensive players like Karpov and Kramnik he would always resort to adjusting his aggressiveness and adapting to a more sound and careful play.
Somehow I think chess has some common ground with boxing - like any other sport but I think the basics of defensive and aggressive play are exhibited better by no other game than chess.
If this theory is true or this comparison is relevant then that would mean Pacquiao cannot in any circumstance beat Mayweather by using his aggressive technique.
Is this why Roach said they needed to make some adjustments?
I understand your point. But it still doesn't address the issue about this thread that the NSAC conducts routine urine testing protocols to determine the presence of drugs in the system only and not blood tests for the same purpose.
http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=871
how the hell do you come to that conclusion?
oh well... maybe because Pac has offered to be blood tested at the night of the fight right after the fight but Mayweather camp won't accept that.
now why wouldn't they accept that offer from someone who didn't have to take any blood tests in the first place? can manny eliminate the drug from his blood within an hour after the fight?
hmmm...
