Americans eat that kinda sh** up. You don't see none of the Brittish boxers surrounded with this kind of controversy cause no one would support them. In the states a lot of tour most successful people are egotistical maniacs because that's what a large percent of the general population can relate to. The reason why Floyd is that way is cause it's made him so money, those kind of comments are like his punches, he's thrown so many of them he doesn't even have to think about it anymore, it's like second nature
That's insanity, boxing is a worldwide sport and in a lot of counties is the national sport. It's the oldest sport known to man and it seems like all the basketball players, football players, actors, and the like all wish they could be boxers. They said this evertime a great boxer has retired and there was always someone there to fill his shoes. Every 10-15 years a great comes along. Just look at history if you don't believe me.
Clottey could catch him with a headbutt very easily the way Manny bounces on his toes and then shoots in real quik for a flurry. I think Roach has planned for Manny to come in at angles in order to not get headbutted and to get around Clottey's double guard.
They played this card because steroids are the big controversy in sports right now. Floyd wants to sell and he and his people know that controversy sells. It's like black athletes in the 50's, back then all you had to do was bring the topic up and everybody and there brother's nephew had an opinion on it. It's the same thing with steroids now. And just like a lot of your favorite sports memories are of black people. Just as many were done by athletes on steroids, it just never used to be the hype. It's like the saying"What momma don't know won't hurt er".
This is a boxing website, not BET. Leave the rapper beefs, especially anything to do with rick ross, up to the people that deal with these kinds of things. This has absolutely nothing to do with the sport of boxing. Street thug beefs have no business on this site. You know if people see Floyd "Money" Mayweather your gonna get hits on it, that's all this is. Your job isn't to give us the latest news on hip hop beefs, if you can't do your job and give us some boxing news just stay silent, the site would be a lot better off!!!
Roach says giving into Mayweather demands is like giving the first two rounds away. I'm not accusing anyone of anything, but to me it sounds like "If we can't juice before the fight we're giving the first two rounds away". Mayweather gave Manny choice of gloves, ring, money, and even accepted $10,000,000 for every pound he was overweight. Basically if Mayweather came in two or three pounds overweight he was doin the biggest fight in history for free. Roach is mad because his plan backfired and now there is a good chance that Mayweather will draw more ppv hits which would put him in the driver's seat for negotiations should the fight reemerge this fall. Roach should keep his mouth shut and focus on the fight here in a few weeks because Clottey gonna be takin shots on those ribs, hips and gut, and pac better watch out for the headbutts too. Even though his fight is later in the year it's almost a sure thing that Mayweather won't take near the damage as Pac will against Clottey if he doesn't get him out of there quick.
I don't see why Mosley would be mad, he went from splitting 3 mil w/ Berto to getting the fight he's supposedly been after for 10+ years. Not to mention the biggest payday of his life @ age 39. What Mosley needs to do is forget about Margarito and prepare to bring extemely disciplined aggression to the ring.
Clottey has the double guard which is good at blocking punches from straight on, but not as much from angles. In the Cotto fight, u saw Manny stepp out and bounce a few times and when he saw Cotto get set he came in with flurries and steeped to the side. Against Clottey I think he will stay outside and bounce and when he sees Clottey set I think he will come in at an angle and when Clottey tries to readjust I think he will step over to his other side and land some punches and try to get out. I think Roach's plan not to come straight in and straight out because this will leave him vulnerable to uppercut and headbutts. I believe Pac will basically be punching at Clottey's ears if you understand what I'm sayin.
I say that becuse it's true....I just rewatched Pacquiao/Marquez 2 fight I have come to the conclusion that while Pacquiao has improved--all of his recent opponents above 130 have been slow and with no head movement...NONE of them boxed on their toes...none...that is why he's done so well in higher weights.
Also, this has nothing to do with steroids--I don't belive he's taking anything..he's always had a good chin or his recovery time is extremely quick.
The only way to truly know if Pacquiao has improved is facing somebody who can consistently box...not puncher-boxers...I mean boxers like Marquez and Mayweather. I believe if Marquez was more atheletic like Pacquiao to move up in weight---it would probably another close battle in a rematch ...and that's coming from a Pacquiao fan.
You hit the nail on the head. First he took on two guys Mayweather boxed for 8+ rds and knocked out. Now he's going after all the top rank guys. Cotto, who's past his prime. Then there was talk about moving up and fighting yuri foreman, but they knew Floyd would move up and be at his ideal weight then, 154. Now Clottey, who's probably the best guy he's fought since his "historic run" began. Anyone know the odds, probably 10-1.
