I copied and pasted this from another article...I was actually on the street and it says "Thunder Way" and makes no explicit mention of Arturo Gatti...It is kind of a half hearted tribute if you ask me.
Arturo Gatti Street Dedication and Tribute Night
September 18th, 2009
Atlantic City Councilman, George Tibbitt, is presenting a proclamation to the Gatti Family declaring Georgia Avenue in Atlantic City to be named “Arturo Gatti Thunder Place”. The celebration will kick off an entire day celebrating the life of Arturo “Thunder” Gatti.
The “Arturo Gatti Thunder Place” street dedication will take place at the corner of Park Place and Boardwalk in Atlantic City at 3:00pm. The dedication is open to the public
Councilman Tibbitt, a long-time fan of Arturo Gatti said, “I invite the public to come to this street dedication to help celebrate this great man. Everyone takes something away from Atlantic City. Arturo Gatti was one of the few people who gave so much back to us.”
Continuing the celebration is, “Night of Thunder: A Tribute to Arturo Gatti”, at Bally’s Atlantic City presented in association with Main Events and Pat Lynch Boxing. Tickets are still available for this boxing card packed with many local boxing favorites.
I know it looked criminal, but I think it might be simpler than that. I am not saying Mora had a racist attitude against Agbeko, but he definitely gives preferential treatment to Mexican fighters when he is refereeing. I have seen it several times in fights he has reffed.
I think he needs to be reprimanded more than just being kept out of the spotlight a while. I would agree to the 30 blows to the nuts if the punishment were carried out by a top notch NFL kicker wearing steeltip workbooks and is televised on the next HBO/showtime card.
I live in Stroudsburg, which is real close to u, and even though I can't offer the money Rios has, I would like to contribute as well.
Thank you so much! There is no amount too small. Also, I am automatically entering all nationwide donors on PayPal in the raffle for the stuff Brandon donated (the drawing will be August 14th and I am going to announce the winner on Brandon's facebook fan page as well as the Miracles for Ella group page. Here is the link to the PayPal account. The charity benefits Ella 100% for her medically incurred expenses. I am not accepting any money to run the charity, nor are we spending any money on our fundraisers...We run completely on donations. The charity is federally 501(c)(3) approved and contributions are tax deductible.

bam bam means well
i'm convinced of it
every time he's on Leave it in the ring radio he impresses me.
he's got some problems carrying himself in public but he's certainly working on them
and the way he fights is intoxicating. he's katsidis with real physical talent and boxing skills that he ignores to implement his offense
i have to have more of it in my life and on my saturday nights
you cant overstate how much of a breath of fresh air he is compared to the average AM standout from the states who's focused on sliding around the ring and landing pittypat shots to win rounds
good work helping out with charity, bro. that's a great thing you're doing.
that stuff adds up in the end when you gotta go before the big man upstairs an plead your case to get into heaven
Yeah bro 24/7 will be all over him he just gotta make some more educated arguments then just swearing half the time but im sure he will make those.
His style is fan friendly and he will grow a big fan base from that
Thanks guys. God has a plan and everything happens for a reason. I teach during the year and thankfully have the time to run this now during this summer... God put me in this position to help raise the money to help Ella and put Brandon in a position to help too.....There is no way anyone with a pulse could watch him and not be a fan.
Odd, Rios and Margarito were making fun of Roach's Parkinson yet you're saying Rios brother suffers from an illness/Condition? I don't get it, you'd think Rios would understand the **** ppl go with through illnesses if his brother has what you said. He is getting a little better as a person tho if he is helping charities .
I am not giving him a free pass on that or anything, but I think we all make mistakes. People have to redeem themselves all the time. We're only human and sometimes in the heat of competition people act ways they might not normally act. His help with my charity has more than redeemed him in my eyes.
I just donated 10 bucks hope that helps. I actually like donating to good causes when I can so good thing I ran into this thread. I would donate much more but I only work a normal part time job rightnow and there are more causes out there that can use the little help I have to offer for now. I hope that girl gets better.
Zarco,
That is extremely noble and generous of you. It takes a special human being to give any amount to a complete stranger. I will enter you in the raffle to win brandon's stuff. Private message me with your contact info.
God bless,
Bill
Whitehall is in the lehigh valley right? Thats where my girlfriend lives. Im from Philly but I moved out to Upper Darby and was fighting out of Upper Darby Boxing Club if you ever heard of it.
But, thats awesome of Brandon Rios and especially the charity. Did you ever have a charity boxing tournament for it... at my gym they do it every once in a while and it turns out really well.
Ya I was at your gym back in 2002 or 2003 I think. Do they have the PAL tournament there? Yes, Whitehall is in the Lehigh Valley. If you are up visiting your girlfriend on August 14th, why don't you stop and buy some raffle tickets for Brandon's stuff? Check us out on Facebook, "Miracles for Ella" or "Hot Dog Stand for Ella"
That is a good idea. I am having my first fight since I was 16 when I won the Cadet Golden Gloves in October in Allentown on a mixed Amateur and Pro card. I was thinking about asking the promoter if we could set something up at the door.
The Team Rios has been linking Miracles for Ella all over the place so we are getting your word out my friend
Thanks Eaner, ...We appreciate it so much. I am looking forward to seeing the new www.bambamrios.com site later today.
I just want to ask everyone who reads this to please forward it to any other boxing forums, boxing websites, or boxing media you might be members of or have affiliation with. Thank you.
Nice kid i do not have much wiggle room this month but if i have a few dollars to donate i will.
Thanks Mark....With any donation to Miracles for Ella before August 14th I automatically enter you to win the Brandon's Autographed glove from the Urbano Antillon fight and his autographed picture from when he won the WBA title.
Brandon was more than happy to assist we had a team meeting on Sunday and instead of getting the standard autograph glove he wanted to go with a fight glove for your auction in hopes that it raises more money and an autograph card that few have.
Let us know if you need anything else.
Eaner,
Thanks so much for all of the help from Team Rios! Brandon deserves all the recognition and praise for making our charity and benefit a success. His generosity and care is unprecedented.

Thanks for sharing this and for having your own Charity. I didn't like how Rios would act, but now I've gained a lot of respect for him. I hope all goes well for Ella.
Thanks so much. I am definitely going to pass along everyone's well wishes to her and her mom!
I don't know about that, but it wouldn't surprise me. He has empathy. I don't know Brandon personally, but he extended himself to help. There are a few high profile professional athletes I know personally who did not offer to help or respond to my requests. Brandon has time for the fans and regular people in the world, unlike a lot of those other athletes. He made himself immediately available and gave of himself.
I thought Randall Bailey was his mandatory?
whoTF is randall bailey. HBO and Al Gaymon always have a way to make money overrule mandatories. There is no money to be made in that fight- HBO wouldnt even televise it I dont think...The only reason they put Zaveck on the air was because he was a champion and they saw him as a confidence builder for Berto coming off a loss.
Reporter: So, how long have you been having this homosexual affair in secret? And what made you decide to come out about it now before such a big fight?
Floyd: Well, it has been going on for quite some time. I haven't sh1t right in a few years, lets put it that way. Curtis and I wanted to use the platform of 24/7 and HBO's viewer base to encourage other celebrities and athletes to be more open about their lifestyle choice. You know, were here, were queer, GET USED TO IT!
Yeah I guess if he figures he's gonna cash out on Paul Williams now...
Williams himself said he only wants to fight like 2 more times...including a rematch with Martinez LOL
I highly doubt Al Haymon makes that move...Berto needs another good win or two before he messes with a top fighter, and Williams just gets hit wayy too much.
Did you see Williams v. Lara? Williams is done. Gaymon would definitely put Berto in there with him at this point- youre right- he does get hit too much- thats the point.
