To whom it may concern in the world boxing community:
I just want to publicly acknowledge and thank Brandon Rios, Lightweight Champion of the World, who intervened out of nowhere and helped the charity which I have been running. The charity is called "Miracles for Ella." 100% of donations benefit a three year old girl from my hometown in Pennsylvania who is battling stage 4 Neuroblastoma. Brandon sent me an autographed glove from his last fight against Urbano Antillon and an autographed picture from the fight to raffle at our upcoming benefit. He has also been sharing links to our facebook page (Miracles for Ella) and charity PayPal account on his fanpage, personal facebook page, and his new website which is going launch later this week. His help has been transformational. Large businesses, such as Hooters, have been inspired by his championing our cause and joined him in assisting us. Brandon has been completely sincere and caring during our interactions. His concern for kids with cancer is very genuine and heartfelt. He has proven himself to be a champion both inside and outside of the ring. His help has been invaluable and "Miracles for Ella" is eternally grateful.
Sincerely,
Bill Marks
The Team Rios has been linking Miracles for Ella all over the place so we are getting your word out my friend
Thanks Eaner, ...We appreciate it so much. I am looking forward to seeing the new www.bambamrios.com site later today.
Nice kid i do not have much wiggle room this month but if i have a few dollars to donate i will.
Thanks Mark....With any donation to Miracles for Ella before August 14th I automatically enter you to win the Brandon's Autographed glove from the Urbano Antillon fight and his autographed picture from when he won the WBA title.
I just donated 10 bucks hope that helps. I actually like donating to good causes when I can so good thing I ran into this thread. I would donate much more but I only work a normal part time job rightnow and there are more causes out there that can use the little help I have to offer for now. I hope that girl gets better.
Zarco,
That is extremely noble and generous of you. It takes a special human being to give any amount to a complete stranger. I will enter you in the raffle to win brandon's stuff. Private message me with your contact info.
God bless,
Bill

I always knew he was a nice kid...doesn't look very bright, but he's nice.
When has great athletes been the brightest...seems like its been a loooooong time lol
Odd, Rios and Margarito were making fun of Roach's Parkinson yet you're saying Rios brother suffers from an illness/Condition? I don't get it, you'd think Rios would understand the **** ppl go with through illnesses if his brother has what you said. He is getting a little better as a person tho if he is helping charities .
The more I see him, the more I believe that this kid has a pretty good heart, and wants to do right. It is at least unquestionable in the ring.
With the Parkinson incident, I think he got caught up in following along with a guy (Margarito) who was being identified as a role model for him.
He has admitted his mistake, and hopefully learns from it.
I am willing to give the kid a pass on that one, and will let him keep trying to improve himself in and out of the ring.
He has quality guidance from Robert Garcia, but, he will have to start being accountable for himself.
Brandon was more than happy to assist we had a team meeting on Sunday and instead of getting the standard autograph glove he wanted to go with a fight glove for your auction in hopes that it raises more money and an autograph card that few have.
Let us know if you need anything else.
Eaner,
Thanks so much for all of the help from Team Rios! Brandon deserves all the recognition and praise for making our charity and benefit a success. His generosity and care is unprecedented.

Whitehall is in the lehigh valley right? Thats where my girlfriend lives. Im from Philly but I moved out to Upper Darby and was fighting out of Upper Darby Boxing Club if you ever heard of it.
But, thats awesome of Brandon Rios and especially the charity. Did you ever have a charity boxing tournament for it... at my gym they do it every once in a while and it turns out really well.
Ya I was at your gym back in 2002 or 2003 I think. Do they have the PAL tournament there? Yes, Whitehall is in the Lehigh Valley. If you are up visiting your girlfriend on August 14th, why don't you stop and buy some raffle tickets for Brandon's stuff? Check us out on Facebook, "Miracles for Ella" or "Hot Dog Stand for Ella"
That is a good idea. I am having my first fight since I was 16 when I won the Cadet Golden Gloves in October in Allentown on a mixed Amateur and Pro card. I was thinking about asking the promoter if we could set something up at the door.

Thanks for sharing this and for having your own Charity. I didn't like how Rios would act, but now I've gained a lot of respect for him. I hope all goes well for Ella.
Thanks so much. I am definitely going to pass along everyone's well wishes to her and her mom!

I am not giving him a free pass on that or anything, but I think we all make mistakes. People have to redeem themselves all the time. We're only human and sometimes in the heat of competition people act ways they might not normally act. His help with my charity has more than redeemed him in my eyes.
