Is Adonis Stevenson undisputed cruiserweight champion of the world?
And he KO'd a drained Bellew...this Bellew was obviously much better coming off his best career wins. Who did Bellew beat before he faced Stevenson ?
It's funny that people buy into Bellews excuse of being drained. He was boxing well and showed no signs of fatigue although he wasn't winning the rounds. All of his fights after Stevenson he looked slightly out of shape. Stevenson was top 10 a few years back, probably around 15 p4p right now.
The quantum of evidence required varies, depending on the type of case. On criminal cases, the burden of proof required is of the highest standard...
So going back to my original point which you don't agree with. In these types of cases , the investigator will interview the plaintiffs, they need evidence to build a strong case. They have strong proof of prostitution and physical assault, they suspect that sexual assault could be added to the charges.
They need at least 2 of the plaintiffs, one who is the victim and an other to corroborate. Now when investigators are inquiring how hard can they probe this ? Isn't it a given that they would not ask only once but use multiple phrasing trying to get the answer they are after.
Being that at least one of the plaintiff is cooperating as she as put all this in motion (Let's say she claims Stevenson raped her), they only need to convince one of 3 to confirm their theory. (Assuming that Stevenson has in fact committed rape and that it can be corroborated) How likely do you think it is that professional interrogator would convince one out of 3 young women to come forward on this if they already agreed to come forward with the two other charges ?
So if they are not capable of providing that to the prosecutor they won't even bother with the testimony of the raped plaintiff ? The judge will not be made aware of the claim and it will definitely not cloud his judgement when sentencing for the 2 other charges.
Stevenson pleaded no contest, if i understand correctly, would it be common practice to drop the strongest charge (assuming they made the case and have a corroborating witness) in exchange for said no contest plea when the rest of the case is a sure winner ?
Pascal has never knocked out anyone worth mentioning. This is either a ploy by Bivol to get one of the other champions interested in fighting him or he is in trouble. Lots of real heavy punchers in the top 10 of 175 division and the others have comparable power with better technical skills and are fresher than Pascal.
bute also failed drug tests for that fight with jack! He was on that juice
That special chin juice?? I couldn't think of anyone Jack ever knocked out so i checked and Rogelio Medina is the only semi known fighter he stopped. If Jack has success at 175 it won't be because of power, he'll be the same he was at 168, good skills and a hard worker.
Wow u idiot. So Joe is the A side for the fight against Barrera? Really.
I havn't seen the numbers for Smith Barrera but i'd say the Smith is the bigger draw for that fight. My original reply was to your question why Stevenson wasn't fighting Smith instead of Fonfara. Deguardia asked for 50-50, control over venue, ticket sales and promotion.
Again I read a lengthy version that said they were 2 unrelated events. I first interpreted as you did until someone posted from an article that they were unrelated.
Can you get me a link ?
Adonis Stevenson is without a doubt the most dangerous fighter at 175 lbs, I don't know who the best 175 pounder is because the best still didn't fight each others, but I think Stevenson can legit hurt anyone he faces. I would like to see him fight the Kovalev vs Ward winner (probably will never happen due to politics) if not that then a fight with Joe Smith or Beterbiev would be great. I think Alvarez is food for Adonis.
Good to see Stevenson hasn't lost a step. A lot of good fights to be made at 175 and Stevenson is probably the hardest to game plan for because he's an accurate lefty with rare one punch power. At 39 he is still more explosive than anybody in the division. Alvarez and Joe Smith should stay away. Any fight involving Stevenson, Kovalev, Ward, and Beterbiev against each other is must watch.

Ricky Gervais end of thread.
...Making that threat of sticking a knife in her anus is a crime itself. And as I noted he was charged with that crime of threatening.
Likewise for the women, who apparently all wanted to stop. I believe that actually is rape if they wanted to quit and were forced to continue "prostituting" themselves against their will, the enforcers are involved in rape.
----
Threats are covered in the pimping charges. Beatings are covered in the assault charges, that's what Stevenson was convicted of. What you are doing is encouraging defamation. It's not your place to say what is and what isn't.
All of you here who are claiming in no uncertain terms that Adonis Stevenson is a rapist and or a pedophile would be liable for a civil suit for defamation and character assassination if not protected by anonymity. If you were unmasked and brought to court and repeated these claims at your hearing you would be ordered to pay retribution.
The irony of all of this is kind of funny, all of you committing reprehensible acts while trying to denounce reprehensible acts.
Don't worry i won't say anything, i believe in second chances.
Not what I read. It talked about a perceived insult being in a line, and having nothing to do with the gang that tried to jump him. There's a synopsis out and the larger version.
I've seen versions of the story on reddit and they are poorly translated from the article i posted. Like i said feel free to read it and if there are things lost in translation i'll be happy to clear it up.
Courageous effort with a broken jaw. He really should have soften his demands for the Stevenson fight in New York because with the way 175 is stacked it's a long shot that he'll ever be in that position again.
I had already started a new thread with that info, but it died quickly.
I also saw that Yvon's people used the wrong word. His status was not "evolved". The hospital said it was elevated to stable.
Anyway, they will take him out of coma which I presume means stop the artificial respiration, or attempt to, on Friday.
Where did you get the info about friday ?
Honestly I feel exactly like you, but how much better does Wlad gotta do to win?
I think he was one flurry of punches from winning in that 6th round. So in theory if the fight goes down similarly this time & Wlad having learned from his mistake last time, him jumping on Joshua when that moment comes is the difference in the outcome this time.
Personally I feel like Joshua's fight IQ/experience will have gone up exponentially after the first fight so yea its an easier night this time around, but I can see exactly what Klitschko is thinking/expecting if Joshua hasn't "powered up" so to speak from the experience of the first fight.
He's gonna have to trade shots with Joshua and once he gets tired it's gonna be a matter of time before he goes down. Maybe if he's real aggressive in the first 4 rounds he might surprise Joshua but he's never been that type of fighter and if it doesn't work he'll fall over as soon as Joshua barely touches him.
The 2 girls at one point wanted to quit but were brutally beaten then. Doesn't matter if they initially freely joined.
The 2 girls even plotted to kill AS and the other one because they wanted to quit, but were forced to go on. And it is rape if they were forced to do that after wanting to quit.
You do make some good points that i am not qualified to answer. I was writing a long post when i realized that i was just translating the article that you won't read in it's entirety. Everything is in it in terms of context, i don't feel like translating it as it is quite a lengthy text. From his childhood to the name of the small time gang he was a part of to it's affiliation to how he met the girls, the age range of the victims and how the situation went downhill. Prison, what happened to Guy Langlois, court and post prison with footnotes at the end with his accusations. I feel it should answers most of your inquiries but i will leave that up to you. Let's just leave it at that because in the end we both would like for him to pull through in the best possible condition.

Wouldn't mind seeing Gvozdyk but Jack is still a bigger name at this point. I may be wrong but i don't think Gvozdyk would survive this kind of grueling fight against either and we know that is the blueprint to beat the Russian Ukrainian style (Beterbiev is an exception and Lomachenko had to learn the hard way vs Salido).
He said exactly the same thing vs Stevenson. Called him a small man over and over. He was in the best shape of his life and got ragdolled.
Since then he put on some fat and that somehow makes him a better fighter capable of beating Ward ? I'll give him credit for selling the fight but the outcome is predictable.
He should never fight again and count his blessings....this was too close
Of course he's not fighting again, what is with you people ? The guy is in a coma, chance are he will be like Gerald Mcclellan when they wake him up. He might not even be able to count ever again.
The author of the above article is TRÉJEAN TREMBLAY.
He is described as both a journalist and screenwriter of TV drama series. I don't know him, both we should maybe also note the 2nd profession above.
Most likely he knew about the status change because many other articles have been written about this in the same paper. This guy has been working for Montreals major news papers since 1974, i hope your right about him maybe trying to jerk a tear from the audience but i doubt it.
Same thing I think: controlled sedation others saying medically induced coma.
It seems that there is a difference:
https://www.beckersasc.com/anesthesia/asa-clarifies-medically-induced-coma-versus-sedation.html
Just before posting this i was watching rds daily news, there is no link on the web site. But they were saying that doctors have decided to prolong Stevensons medically induced coma.
The note of hospital enfant jésus posted on Yvon Michels twitter talk about controlled sedation.
I'm hoping rds dropped the ball on this because if the hospital is using the wrong language while informing the family that would be flat out wrong.
https://www.rds.ca/combat/boxe/l-etat-de-sante-d-adonis-evolue-vers-la-stabilite-1.6476409
Michel was already using the term controlled sedation on Sunday. In the same article rds says that Stevenson is in a medically induced coma. Is it possible that Stevenson could come out of a medically induced coma in less than 12 hours and be placed under controlled sedation ?
Edit: Yes it's possible for a medically induced coma to end after only 12 hours
so let's hope that Stevenson has been in a semi conscious state for the past few days and rds really suck at reporting.
https://luxury.rehabs.com/drug-detox/drug-induced-coma/
I did not see the earlier one.
This one says afternoon or PM, so the latest I guess.
I didn't see any video. Are you saying a hospital spokesman used those words "moving towards stable." That would be most strange as they are usually more rigorous and only give the current status and not what a pt is moving towards.

What do you see in Alvarez that makes you think that any top lightheavyweights would duck him? If he fought Pascal pre Kovalev he probably would have lost. Hes a world class boxer dont get me wrong but i dont see anything elite from him. Its worth waiting to see if the winner of Kovalev Ward is open to talk if not then we get Alvarez Stevenson.
Can't believe all the people on here who don't want to see a rematch, the fight was great both men showed a lot of skill and heart. If you didn't enjoy this fight maybe boxing isn't for you.
well, you can say he should accept the fight with beterbiev but, the fact of the matter is when you lowball someone, chances are you don't want that fight. So you see it could be the other way around...
The fact of the matter is that it was Duva who was trying to lowball that purse bid. They lost 251000 to 181000 can't blame the other side if they put up more money than you.
didn't realize Adonis has another fan on the forum. Although judging by the quality of your posts so far, you're probably an alt of one of them.
This fight has nothing to do with stevenson, because it's actually competitive. Go troll elsewhere.
Didn't realize you needed to be notified. I only replied because i see a lot of posts saying the winner should get a title fight. The reality is if Smith wanted one he could have faced Stevenson instead of Fonfara, and if Barrera wanted one he could have accepted the Beterbiev fight for IBF no1 contender spot.
