Not in the least. He got two gift decisions against Bhops and a gift draw against Winky. He never should have been Middleweight champ. BHops and winky are who I feel sorry for, their records got sullied by losing to/drawing with Taylor. Pavlik is the better fighter.
I think most people are basing the Taylor comments upon the fact that B-Hop was his first real quality opposition. His John Ruiz-like style would hinder him against Left-Hook Lacy, who likes it on the inside and possibly even while being held. I don't see the Taylor-Wright fight happening and if it did...Taylor goes down so that mythical Lacy-Taylor probably wouldn't even happen.
No, Soliman did look amateurish. He landed 14% of his total punches! I don't care who fought Soliman, they would look bad. Taylor wouldn't know what to do either. I think this fight shows that A)Winky can take plenty of shots if he has to, and B) He can adjust to a crazy style and still dominate the fight regardless of what the two idiots that scored it 115-113/2 say.
Hi, I'm new to the boards, but I had to log on tonight while I was watching the fight and arguing with some of my friends as to who was ahead. If Taylor was landing the harder, crisper punches, then why was he the one with the nearly closed eye at the end of the fight (unless he hit B-Hop with all hard body shots, which didn't happen.)
I suppose if we're assuming that PBF will actually FIGHT any of these guys I would have to go with Hatton on this list, but overall I don't think he could beat Wright. Personally, I think PBF will dance around guys like Zab and Hatton his entire career and retire without fighting anyone of real substance.
