To my understanding, no one (in the 'know' of boxing) believes Berto is slick. He has fast hands and can throw decent combinations, but has yet to display anything remotely 'scientific' about his fight game, even against mediocre opposition. In addition to that he lacks power and fights coming forward(hardly any movement).
it was a good stopage. as far as a standing 8 count goes, why would alvarado be looking to the ref for the count? he should have took a knee; if so, all of this discussion about premature stoppage wouldn't be relevant.
i see matthysse bludgeoning rios & possibly ending his career(as an 'elite' brawler) in a fight that displays rios' will & chin (but thats all) it'd be a showcase fight for matthysse.
I'm in agreement with most here, we all expect bias. What irritates me is how they're able to shape the perception of (most)casual fans, whom believe they are truly getting 'expert' impartial commentating.
on second thought, the headlines are pre-approved by boxingscene, i just feel they should base the decisions on relevance. This 'headline' is irrelevant..but effective for vanes cause it keeps his name out there.
God... Arizia is absolutely vile. It's insulting to read the asinine rhetoric he manages to spew out. I loathe when these idiots, who contribute nothing to the sport,(I mean absolutely nothing, aside from degrading it) continually try to assert influence and put down hard working professionals, such as Marquez.
My problem with unproven fighters such as Vanes, is the misplaced sense of entitlement they feel. He's accomplished absolutely nothing in boxing yet feels he can dictate his next fight & deserves title shots are Martinez and Cotto? Martinez worked hard for years to get where he's at and still gets disrespected; these young guys are following the pattern of todays modern spoiled athlete, wanting to put in zero work and feel they deserve all the reward. It's nauseating. Also, being that he's with Roach, I'm certain he'll have a big fight soon whether he's earned it or not...
Let's be clear, no one can truthfully believe martinez is 'ducking' any of these supposed threats at MW. As of now, all of this talk is speculation and here say, not any legitimate source has commented on the matter. Zbik is clearly the best opponent, however, he beat a hyped prospect whom I didn't think much of anyhow. It's mad frustrating...the politics of boxing can leave you disgusted, Hbo is exerting far too much influence.
Just go away. You are you not funny at all. Your "sergiosexual" gimmick was lame from the start and dropping it in every post on every thread is not making it any more clever.
This is a Boxing Forum, not a Text message. If you're going to make up sh*t at least type it in correctly. Eurobum after eurobum? Other than Dzin, Sergio hasn't fought a European fighter since 2008.
I wish this forum had a membership exam.
Haha, I concur
No one wants to see this. I cannot even comprehend how this would end up as a subject of discussion...Also Marley has no integrity as a journalist in my book, so I suppose I understand it all now.
