It was an extremely close fight, I had it 114-113 Pacquiao. I thought he landed the cleaner shots, scored with his jabs, and topped it all of with a knockdown. Marquez counterpunched brilliantly and is more skilled than Pacquiao, but he didn't control the fight in any way.
Wow, great video. Without boxing on HBO, I am nothing. I wonder how HBO would have done for Corrales/Castillo I and the Marquez/Vasquez trilogy, even though the fight always transcends the presentation.
I think Pac-man will thrive as a lightweight. He can knock out David Diaz and then use his "newfound" boxing skills to take down Baby Bull/Campbell, depending on who wins the rematch. Another option would be to fight the winner of Casamayor/Katsidis. I don't know if he will be able to outbox Casamayor, but he'll most likely TKO Katsidis on cuts, or even knock him out cleanly. Anything above 135, however, is probably suicide for Pacquiao.
Yeah, that knockdown was costly for Marquez and Pacquiao gets the win because of his clean lefts, but I think only Marquez would have gotten up from that knockdown because that shot was picture perfect. Great fight and good luck to both down the road.
Great post. I agree 100%. We should give respect where respect is due. Both fighters fought a great fight, but I gave Pacquiao the slight nod because of his clean shots and activity, not to mention the knockdown. But Marquez fought a great fight, and if he drops in the rankings somehow, the sport should be ashamed of itself.
Agreed. We won and we should be thankful that the sport has warriors like Pac-man and Dinamita. Marquez would dominate the division after Pacquiao moves up to lightweight, and Pacquiao would dominate 135 in the same way.

Round 4 definitely gets my vote for ROTY, as it had both fighters buckling at the knees. Here's hoping that the other Marquez brother and Pacquiao provide some candidates.
BTW, this is my first post at the forum and HELLO TO EVERYONE!
