They gotta sell the Haye Harrison fight.
Flog that horse, it may be half dead but FLOG it to death.
It may be a dead horse but it'll still be 100 times more entertaining than tonights snorefest.
ali ray leonard and hearns would all have problems with the brothers
I agree that both Ray Leonard and Thomas Hearns would have problems with both brothers. Especially Leonard who would probably need a stool to stand on just to hit them ;)
Spot on. At least you're relatively level-headed. That being said, I think Wlad makes Haye look ordinary as well. It won't even be a test. (Just my opinion.) I think Haye would be far better served to fight someone like Adamek or Arreola. Even the biggest Haye supporter has to admit that fighting Audley Hairisson at this point, is noting more than a joke.
Hey just giving my opinion ;) I'm not here to cause arguments I enjoy the debate even when I don't always agree. You may well end up being right but I'll hold my judgement until after the fight takes place. And yes everyone over here is scratching their heads about the Harrison fight.
Haye might be avoiding the Klitschko's, but that doesn't mean he is not a danger to them.
Haye has great power, speed, and movement, and he will be a genuine threat early on in the fight. However, the further it goes, the more the fight will play into Wlad's hands. But let's not pretend Haye has zero chance. He is a threat and Wlad knows it.
This fight will happen eventually. Haye is a small, blown up cruiserweight, with a weak chin and he hasn't fought many fights at HW. Wlad will be his toughest fight to date. That's why I think Haye is trying to cash in with Harrison. Because Wlad could very well be his last fight in a boxing ring, and he wants to make as much money as he can before he takes Wlad on.
That said, Haye could end Wlad's career at the top with one well placed punch. It will be a dangerous fight for both boxers, but Wlad is definitely the favourite 65-35.
Agreed. I think Haye is trying to build a name in the US before taking on either of the Klitschko's. At the moment none of the big TV companies would pick up a fight between Haye and Klitschko but if Haye continues to rack up impressive KO wins then the fight becomes more marketable and the big money boys will start to take notice. I don't think Haye is ducking the Klitschko brothers I think he is simply making a name for himself before fighting the best.
After watching this fight you realize that David Haye has NO CHANCE. Especially against Wladimir. Too powerfull too fast too pretty.
Its KLITSCHKO TIME!
I assume your talking about his looks and not his fighting style as he is astonishingly dull to watch. Whilst David Haye will be a huge underdog I wouldn't go so far to say he has NO chance. He has far greater speed and power than any of the guys Wladmir has fought in recent years and represents a genuine danger. I think Haye would probably fall short in a challenge but he is several leagues above the likes of lumbering Samuel Peters.
Evidently. :D:D
Haye would never be able to absorb the punishment Peter took today. After five rounds Haye would either quit, or get KTFO. Let's not act like Haye has a chin made of granite. Haye has a puncher's chance, and that is it. Just like Peter. But he has even less of a chance than Peter, because he doesn't have the beard that Peter does. I give mad respect to Peter for fighting after taking some of those shots. But I guess he sorta' had to redeem himself after the way he quit against Vitali. IMO, he has redeemed himself.
Just remember us retards were on here telling you about Calzaghe when you lot were calling Jeff Lacy the second coming and see how that ended up. Same thing with Nigel Benn and Gerald McClellan. Same thing when the American retards were saying Tyson was gonna knock out Lewis. We know our stuff over here and if Haye was a fraud we would be saying so. Just look at how highly we regard 'Fraudley' Harrison. Nobody is saying Klitschko is an easy fight for Haye, far from it, but he represents the only real legitimate threat to either of the brothers. And for the record I think he will lose but bring out the best of the Klitschko's in the process
That is fine but I and many others like the way he methodically breaks opponents down.
I hate quick 2-3rd kos when it comes to championship fights, I want to see what the fighters bring to the table if anything new or different like the uppercut from Wlad which we haven't seen in a while.
Implying Haye has more balls than Wlad is silly after everything and where we are now in regards to that fight.
I want to see it just to see Haye shut up but realistically he doesn't have a great chin even at CW, not the best stamina or defense, and hasn't fought anyone anywhere near as good or who hits probably 1/4 as hard as Wlad.
Haye would be a danger for only a couple rounds or until he gets hit with a solid right hand and if he stands up to it would lose his nerve and whatever game plan he had would be out the window followed by the usual Wlad show until he is ready to stop Haye.
I only meant that he has the balls to mix it up and takes chances (Valuev fight the obvious exception). Granted that may not be the intelligent way to fight and will probably be his downfall but its makes for interesting, competitive fights. If I was a huge Klitschko fan I would probably agree with you that it is good to watch the way he breaks down opponents methodically and technically but as a neutral I like to see competitive contests. For me it is not fun to just watch one man beat up another for ten rounds when he has the ability to finish it several rounds earlier. It was embarrasing seeing Peters lumber around the ring winging drunk man punches for the last 5 or 6 rounds. I take your point though
Yeah, because Haye's fight with Valuev was exactly dynamite. Haye's had some stinkers too. Look: If you don't like the way Wlad fights.........fine. DON'T WATCH THEN. If you can't appreciate his technical brilliance, then I don't know what else to tell ya'.
The frustrating thing is i really DO admire the technical brilliance of the Klitschko brothers but they are fighting guys that they should be dispatching in a couple of rounds and yet they drag fights out for 10-11 rounds. I keep tuning in hoping to see these guys show their full potential but its the same safety first stuff every time. I take your point though. This is the last Klitschko fight I'll be watching unless a Haye fight is made. And yes Haye's fight with Valuev was a stinker but that was pretty much the only one he's had to date. He doesn't have half the skills of Wladmir but he has the balls to mix it which sadly Wladmir doesn't.
Watching that demolition was something to behold, man Wlad had the lot - hooks, jabs, aggression, footwork, upper body movement, speed, precision.
Every fight this man improves. get used to it people Haye will NEVER fight Wlad now, not ever. That fight'll have **** haye up so badly his kids will have white hair!
Hardly. If Haye was watching the same fight as me all he will have seen was Wladmir beat up a slow, fat, lumbering bum who could barely throw a punch. Peters was done after 2 rounds and it still took Klitschko another 8 rounds to finish the job. I didn't see anything that would make me think haye is worried about fighting him. Just another glorified sparring session against a washed up, fat punching bag.
And what makes you think Haye will fair any better? His impressive HW resume that includes wins over such world-beaters as Monte Barrett, John Ruiz, and Nicolay Valuev? GTFO of here with that S.H.I.T.
:D:D
Both John Ruiz and Nicolay Valuev are equally as good as any of the stiffs Wladmir has been facing lately and at least Haye was entertaining in the Ruiz fight which is something that Wladmir very rarely is. I'm not a Haye fanboy, in fact most of the time I think he's an idiot, but come on man there is no way that he would be as lame as Peters was tonight even if he did end up getting knocked out. My problem with the Klitschko's isn't their talent (which they clearly both have) its that they are so damn boring! We need someone who is going to offer some sort of threat and I think Haye's speed and power at least makes for an interesting fight.
Dude Haye did nothing for 10/11 rounds vs Valuev. Wlad would out box him to death!!!!
Haye fought with a broken hand from the second round and did exactly what he had to to get the result.
Oh shut the hell up
Haye is a glass chinned coward who pussied out of 3 fights with the Klitschkos
If the fight ever happens, Haye gets KTFO by the first punch Wlad lands
Or Vice Versa. Lets remember Haye is a puncher and Klitschko had been floored 11 times in his career against far weaker opposition than Haye. Wladmir would be a huge favourite but I wouldn't write Haye off quick so quickly.
Hey, I'll give you that one. A lot of people WERE touting Lacy as the next big thing. But that being said, I thought Calzaghe would beat him. He simply wasn't experienced enough to fight Calzaghe in his own backyard at that juncture, and Calzaghe ruined him. No doubt. But fighters like Joe Calzaghe, Lennox Lewis, Nigel Benn, and many others are LEGIT world class. The likes of Amir Kahn, Nasem Hamed, and David Haye always seem to get exposed. Fair enough?
Agreed! But the truth is we are still finding out about guys like Khan and Haye. If you read back through the posts you'll see that nobody is saying Haye is gonna destroy Klitschko, in fact most of us brits believe he will lose that fight. What we are saying is that he offers more than the likes of Peters and the other guys Wladmir has been facing lately. I just want to see Klitschko taken out of his comfort zone and pushed. If Haye can't do that then I'll take it on the chin and admit I'm wrong but I see him offering problems that we haven't seen Klitschko face for a while and I thinks thats good for boxing.
I never got the whole Hamed thing. He was exciting as hell to watch (remember the Kevin Kelly fight? Fricking awesome) but besides having a granite chin and a big punch he was a terrible fighter who did just about everything wrong technically. Barrera exposed him big time. No arguments on that one
Evidently.
I think the point people are making is that Haye wouldn't be lumbering around the ring making himself an east target like Peters did. I agree that Haye would not be able to take that kind of punishment but I don't believe he would stand in front of Klitschko getting punched in the face all night. Every fighter deserves respect for getting in the ring and putting their well being on the line but the only thing Peters proved tonight is that he really good at getting punched in the face (a lot).
How can he build a name in the US by fighting his next fight domestically in a fight that only seems to matter to the British, if that.
Fair point but I think it depends on the manner of the victory. As lame as Harrison is he is still an Olympic gold medalist and has some name recognition so if Haye KO's him early then it builds his marketability. However you are right if Haye wins unimpressively then it will mean nothing to the world market
It was just a little coke people.
Not like he was shootin up heroine or something.
Exactly its not like he's a crackhead or anything. Recreational coke is, and always has been, rampant among celebrities in all walks of life and this is just another case of the news of the world trying to cause a major scandal. Enjoy your retirement Ricky!
