growing up i was a massive Barrera fan, still am as he is my favorite fighter of all time. it was like when i was growing up because of me liking Barrera so much, it made me really not appreciate how great Morales was. as i got older and more mature, i really started to appreciate how great a fighter Morales was. he would back down from no one and fought everybody put in front of him. his first fight with Barrera and his first fight with Pacquiao are some of the best fights ive ever seen and the way he turned southpaw against pacman in the 12th round of there first fight was crazy!!! just shows how much of a warrior he was! Morales has nothing left to prove and he will be going into the hall of fame one day. he has had an amazing career and i hope he gets his final win in his farewell fight and calls it a day. i dont want to see him taking anymore punishment in the ring
Well, I'm a boxing fan, and I'm a fan of all exciting boxers, like Khan and Garcia.
But, if they fought again, if they fought 10 times, I think Khan would win 9 or 8/10 times. Garcia had three cuts by the second round and since that round Khan was being ridiculously incautious.
That's the beauty of boxing, even though Khan was boxing Garcia's ears off, he got caught, and the whole fight changed. But, seriously, Khan was picking Garcia apart quite easily. Rematch would be great! Garcia can KO anybody if he catches them, but I think Khan would beat him in a rematch. Maybe even easily. Just an opinion.
i agree that Khan was out boxing Garcia early in the fight and I believe Khan got overconfident. However i feel Garcia did really well by adjusting from the 2nd or 3rd round in there fight. Garcia started to go to Khans body midway through the fight and it was having an effect on Khan. it was a combination of the two i believe which made Khan lose the fight. he got over confident but Garcia did really well in adjusting his tactics as he knew he was getting beat from the outside by Khan.
I feel Khan has the ability to box his opponents but he gets drawn into a slug fest and it is very difficult for him to win these types of fights. Khan is a tall fighter, has a good jab, is quick, he just needs to use his strengths rather than trying to be macho and he will make his fights much easier. i think Virgil Hunter will try to make Khan box more rather than brawl
Chavez isnt in the same class as Martinez but hey he has NOTHING to be ashamed about he was a warrior last night ... a lesser man would of looked for a way out he didnt he kept trying to win and that last round "man" both guys were superb no need for a rematch though !!!
i agree
i think if the fight was more competitive then there would be justification in a rematch, but Martinez basically schooled Chavez Jr for 11 rounds. I don't think a rematch would be any different. I believe Martinez would still win
felt sorry for Morales going out like that. Im glad he said this was his last fight when he was interviewed. he has nothing left to prove and is a hall of famer. i hope he enjoys his retirement and does not have the itch to get back in the ring again. that left hook that he got caught with was brutal! the way his body spun and the way he fell on the canvas had me worried for him
i know a lot of people were going on about Chavez Jr showing tremendous heart in the 12th round, but Martinez for me showed even more heart and courage in the 12th round. Martinez had a broken hand and torn ligaments, got knocked down, got back up and was actually fighting back! he wasn't looking to hold or survive in the last round, he was fighting until the final bell. He showed tremendous courage and I would have really felt bad for Martinez if he got knocked out yesterday in the last round as he put on a very good performance for 11 and a half rounds
Morales said that it's his last fight in the u.s. but wants to do 1 more fight in his native Tijuana, Mexico before he officially retires..
oh yeah your right he did say that. thanks for the correction bro. i just hope he has an easy fight in Tijuana, gets the win and then retires.
