I think its more that Khan was outlanding him by about 5-1 in the first few rounds that made people think he was winning the fight
well he was winning the rounds which is something ppl mistake for winning the fight all the time. in most instances the two go hand in hand but not always, not in this case.
khan was landing shots but gracia was adapting every round, we already knew he is a slow starter and that he was relying on timing (which takes just that, time) to win the fight. we also know khan makes no changes whatsoever as a fight goes on.
so sure, khan was winning the rounds, but i could see in the third round (before the KD) that garcia was gonna get him out of there. he was thinking ahead and gradually taking over the fight.
It's not lucky when a fighter who likes to counter, is dangerous in exchanges, drops and badly hurts a guy with the defensive and durability issues that Khan has.
some people think paulie was outboxing cano. they don't realize you are supposed to factor in both guys punches when scoring fights. omg look at khan's flashy punches garcia's about to die!

I don't get why people say that Khan was outboxing Garcia until he started fighting dumb. He ALWAYS fights like that, he's not exactly a smart fighter, his attacks are very repetitious and he's easy to time. It's not that he made a mistake, it's his overall game that's problematic.

surprised at the Khan revisionism
don't see what old Terrible getting KO'd has to do with it
at his best, Terrible would walk through Garcia and murk him
no comparison between him and Khan

He was outboxing Garcia but Garcia was always blatantly looking to land that left hook, at times wildly swinging it and missing.
Any Boxer with half a brain cell of ring IQ would have picked up on that and watched out for the left hook, or at least tried to watch out for the left hook. Khan most certainly didn't, and paid the price.

Oh now you're arguing the semantics of boxing fan, and what a meme is? Jesus christ, you're retarded. You just admitted that my point was saying I'm not a hugger of one fighter, so clinging to this one term as some kind of victory proves how dumb you are, and how desperately you need to get out and get some human activity. Wasting your life angrily arguing the term "boxing fan" all in defense of your pathetic ego, is a huge waste of your life, my loser friend. You only live once, don't be such a loser.
You lost an argument online, who cares? Move on. Go outside. Don't argue meaningless semantics.
And stop posting so much, but I guess life is tough without any friends. And god, dumb people just love memes, don't they?

Maybe 7 rounds. Then I think Garcia could power through him again. Khan is a talented guy, but his chin and stamina are not great, and probably never will be. It doesn't help that when he gets tired he gets easier to hit and you're more susceptible to knockouts anyways.
He wouldn't get tired if he threw less punches, that's the point. He wastes too much energy. He beat Malignaggi for 11 rounds with a jab basically.
lol. like 5% of the ppl on this site are real boxing fans.
most ppl are just fans of random violence, boxing is more than that. to be a real fan you gotta be able to understand and appreciate all aspects of the game, like someone who follows the nba year round oposed to someone who just watches the dunk contests and gets bored watching a real game. thats the average modern boxing fan.
then ofcourse theres the ppl who just follow one fighter, they like maywetaher, DLH, pacquiao, hatton etc for things that have nothing to do with boxing and watch them for reasons that have nothing to do with boxing. be it their nationality, looks or personality. they like boxing for the random violence and hype not the actual boxing.
a real fan will watch two fighters he never heard of if they put on a good fight, a fake fan wont. a real fan loves watching fights from other eras and appreciate quality, fake fans dont. real fans appreciate technical fights, fake fans dont. i could keep going.. bottom line is alot of fans dont really love the fight game, they watch bcuz they like a single fighter or random violence. again boxing is more than that and if you really love the sport how could you discard the most important aspect of the sport or just follow a few guys and not appreciate the sports great history?
NE is faking it.
checking in with the rest of the casuals.
gave you green k cuz we're bros, and that's a good looking post.
Hey retard, everybody in this website is a "boxing fan", just because Larryx is Floyd hugger, Puga is Pac hugger and The Weebler II is Hatton hugger doesn't make them any less of a fan than you.
And retard, that wasn't a MEME, that was just a picture, this is MEME,

garcia didnt throw the left hook blind when he dropped khan. he was laying back and reading khan in the early rounds and he saw that khan leaves himself wide open as hes punching, hands down, chin straight up and no headmovement.
after that it was just getting his timing down and the fight was over. he saw khan throw an uppercut, saw where his head was at and knowing it wasnt gonna move he focused his eyes on that oncoming uppercut while firing the left hook at the same time. he wasnt throwing it blind though, he saw his target before he let it go and knew it wouldnt move.
besides anytime you throw a punch you aim as you fire. as the punch is traveling towards your oponent you dont redirect it, once you let it go its gone. you can pull it back but not redirect it as this will result in terrible technique.
only a fool would think garcia landed a lucky punch, it was one of the most skillful KOs of the year. he dropped morales with the exact same punch in their first fight and knocked him out with a similar counter in their rematch. those counter left hooks are his trademark and the fact that he only needs a split seconds look to land with perfect precision while slipping a punch at the same time shows an incredible amount of precision, timing, reflexes and coordination. anything but lucky.
Yes boxing fan, as in of not one particular boxer, as I explain in that very sentence. It's not that complicated, anyone not brain damaged should understand this.
Your reply is a meme? A picture any retard could pick? Congrats you're dumber than a child. Yes, you got me, I'm on my 7th account?? WTF? Delusional much?
Guess what, not everyone is retarded like you. They don't use memes in place of words and sentences, and they have actual friends. They don't live on an internet forum, and nothing you says changes the fact you're a friendless loser. Now go out and speak to actual people, and use actual words and sentences.

garcia is a solid boxer... but khan was outboxing the kid until amir's stupidity & machismo got the best of him.
i dont think it was luck... it was a well-placed shot. but it wasnt enough to ignore how he was outgunned most of the fight & looked like he was in slo-mo against khan.
i hope the kid continues to improve, he seems to be a good kid. at least amir got a reality check he needed.
Well, I'm a boxing fan, and I'm a fan of all exciting boxers, like Khan and Garcia.
But, if they fought again, if they fought 10 times, I think Khan would win 9 or 8/10 times. Garcia had three cuts by the second round and since that round Khan was being ridiculously incautious.
That's the beauty of boxing, even though Khan was boxing Garcia's ears off, he got caught, and the whole fight changed. But, seriously, Khan was picking Garcia apart quite easily. Rematch would be great! Garcia can KO anybody if he catches them, but I think Khan would beat him in a rematch. Maybe even easily. Just an opinion.
i agree that Khan was out boxing Garcia early in the fight and I believe Khan got overconfident. However i feel Garcia did really well by adjusting from the 2nd or 3rd round in there fight. Garcia started to go to Khans body midway through the fight and it was having an effect on Khan. it was a combination of the two i believe which made Khan lose the fight. he got over confident but Garcia did really well in adjusting his tactics as he knew he was getting beat from the outside by Khan.
I feel Khan has the ability to box his opponents but he gets drawn into a slug fest and it is very difficult for him to win these types of fights. Khan is a tall fighter, has a good jab, is quick, he just needs to use his strengths rather than trying to be macho and he will make his fights much easier. i think Virgil Hunter will try to make Khan box more rather than brawl
Anyone with 7,666 posts on a website since 2010 is a complete loser. Get some sunlight dude. Get out of your mom's basement and speak to actual people, get some friends and you might not be such a warped dumbass.

"I'm a boxing fan" while in a boxing website. :You_Rock_
Nothing lucky about it. Fact is he's put people down with that shot many times before.
I think from now on fighters will approach a fight with Danny just like Nishioka did fighting Nonito and stay the fuk away from that hook.

Are you Amir or Haroon Khan by any chance?
Khan called it a lucky punch.
So? We are talking about the thread starter and Boxingscene posters, what do you expect Khan or boxers to say? Hatton also claimed he " Slipped" when he got KO by Mayweather, fact is boxers would come up with excuses every single time when they lose, But we are talking about Boxingscene posters calling Garcia's punch lucky something I havent seen or read on here.
