Tyson fought with all of his weight forward. That being said he couldnt move laterally trhe way that Ali did because his shoulders were always turned square and his front foot was flat on the ground with his back foot ussually up in a sprinters stance which doesnt allow for mocving like ALi.
I would say taht all three heavyweight champs are respectable in terms of their records but in a head to head matchup VK takes them all 9 out of 10 and that 10th time is if he gets injured during the fight.
Who has the best jab? Sturm...stiff, straight, and hard jab. Throws his opponent off balance and off their game.
Who has the best straight right? Tszyu. It's like a heat-seeking missile. Stops fights when it lands.
Who has the best lead hook? Since RJJ is out the game i'll say it's Mayweather. Although he doesn't use it as much as the lead right hand, when he uses it, it's almost impossible for lesser fighters to stop it.
Who has the best rear hook? Tyson or Trinidad. Tito throws that hook whenever with bad intentions.
Who has the best upper-cut? Kassim Ouma or Jermain Taylor. Ouma killed Jantuah on the inside with those short, hard uppercuts. Taylor will lead with that uppercut that killed Joppy and Marquez. He puts a lot of juice behind it.
Who has the best Overhand? Morales...moreso at lower weights. Rahman has a nice overhand right as well.
Who's is the best on the inside? James Toney. He's rather small so his range is inside of most other heavyweights. He will cut up another fighter by countering on the inside. That left hook/uppercut 1-2 combo he possesses on the inside is sick.
Who is the best on the outside? Vitali Klitschko or Vivian Harris. Both guys will kill you if they can just sit outside and pot shot you.
Who has the best combinations? Pacquiao. It's his bread and butter combo that ultimately kills all of his opponents.
Who is the closest thing to THE perfect fighter? Miguel Cotto. He has the best all around offensive skillset IMO. He's also a very good defensive fighter. He'll BE the perfect fighter...Bernard Hopkins IS the perfect fighter as of right now.
Remember that ROy is supposedly coming back sometime soon to gear up for another fight against Tarver
]Of all currently active boxers..
Who has the best jab? Wlad
Who has the best straight right? Tzyu
Who has the best lead hook? Gotta go with Jones still
Who has the best rear hook? Tyson, watch the Etienne fight
Who has the best upper-cut? Mayweather
Who has the best Overhand? I know im gonna get a lot of crap but I like Ruis because he sneaks that punch in and then grabs while its taking its effects.
Who's is the best on the inside? Toney
Who is the best on the outside? Wlad, as long as no one gets close he is golden
Who has the best combinations? Mayweather
Who is the closest thing to THE perfect fighter? Mayweather
It depends which way you like looking at it more. Both Tito and Roy throw some vicious left hooks....quick, powerful, and lands almost willingly (if nothing else works for them...you can count on the left hook.) But Tito tends to throw it while starting flat-footed (The Thing I noticed about Tito throwing it is that he puts alot into it, so much that he's almost off-balance after throwing it, if he gets countered someone can score a knockdown)...Roy leaps into his. Roy and Mayweather throw it kind of the same way except Mayweather makes sure if he misses, you'll have no chance to counter...immediately after throwing it, he pushes his opponent away.
Yea i noticed the same thing about tito thats why I placed Jones over him and also I think Jones has way more power in his left hook than Mayweather because it still hurt ruiz even at heavy
Who has the best jab? Mayweather
Who has the best straight right? Tszyu
Who has the best lead hook? Hatton(body) or Tito
Who has the best rear hook? Tyson
Who has the best upper-cut? Toney
Who has the best Overhand? Freitas
Who's is the best on the inside? Toney
Who is the best on the outside? Mayweather
Who has the best combinations? Cotto
hattons body punch is a good one i never thought of that
Roy Jones still ahs the best lead Left hook, not tito. Tito's hook is powerful but its not so much a lead because it doesnt necessarily lead to other punches other than possibly more left hooks. Jones used his left hooks speed to set up other punches because of its blistering speed and power. Tito's hook, while quick, did not always leave him in a good position to throw other types of punches
i heard somehwere that Tyson was 5'8" and 205 lbs when he was 13 or 14 so I think that a lot iof hgis weigth was jsut natural. That being said however, he certainly did do a little bit of lifting but I think that Tyson was jsut genetically predisposed to being a big guy
i read a post that said that boxers are almost superhuman compared to their nonboxing counterparts and I beleive that. Furthermore, the difference between the good pros and the new amateurs is probably the same, no matter how bad another boxer madkes them look, you would still never land a punch on them and you would make them look like Roy Jones in his prime.
the fact of the matter in my oppinion is that it would not have mattered when holyfield and Tyson fought because Holyfield was always jsut as tough and fluid and quick as when he fought Tyson. Indeed, I would go out on a limb and say that the Holyfield that beat Tyson was no longer in his prime at all.
yea I jsut found his record on Boxrec and it was a first round TKO, even though both fighters he fought that week were fairly poor. He fought on jan 21 and jan 28 and it looks like he has a scheduled fight on feb 24. Looks to me like he is on his way up. I remember the commentators said that he lost in the first round of the olympics because he allowed a european to get ahead in the first round and that after that the european jsut ran for the duration of the fight. I think that probably the guy has a better style for pro fights because he looked amazing in his last fight and looking at his record He has knocked down every fighter hes gone in with at least once and it looks like he has yet to lose a round. I would love to see this guy move up in competition quickly because like I say he might have lost in the first round in the oolympics but his style looks like he is a new Roy Jones. If you can find a way try to watch his fight on the 28th is myt advice if u ahvent seen him yet because even though I only saw this one fight I think that he has a lot of potential and he may be able to dominate junior middle.
i dont rememebr the kids name exactly
but i know he was an andre and bronze olypmpnist
cuz me n my dad were comparen him the andre ward the gold medalist
think theyre both supermiddle wieights
does he ring any bells?
he fought with a sort of roy jones style
but was a lefty
was he fighting kind of a heavyset mexican?
He has yet to show me anything special. He's got good reflexes, but average punching power. He can be hit.
hah the point is that im not talking about Andre Ward, but at the same time I think that it is a little earlier to be condemning him to a career of failure. He still fights like an amateur because that is where he learned to fight. I am sure that Andre Ward will develope more as a fighter as time goes on.
Eastmans only saying shit back because Hopkins was disrespecting him. Its just another stupid war of words in the build up.
To be honest i'd like Nard to get KO'd, he's been taking fights with easy or smaller opponents for a long time. I normally want him to win but i dont anymore, that may change if he decide to back up that big mouth and move up weights.
Yea I think that Eastman is the first fighter ive ever heard BHop disrespect and it makes me worry that he might not be taking this guy as seriously as he should.
Im not syaing that he is a "good" champion but he stilld eserves more respect than he gets because lets face it, the guy still scrapes out wins. Perfect example was the Oquendo fight where i think i ahd him down in teh fight before the knockout which let him win yet again. Hes not fun to watch and hes not a great boxer but he wins and he needs credit for that.
More to the point, the guys that beat him deserve credit for their wins, like Roy Jones, because they are still ebating a very difficult fighter to beat.
Yes indeed. Norman Stone is a joke. Who was it that KO'd him at a press conference a lil while back? That was classic. Dude was layin on the ground pretending to be unconcious so he wouldnt get hit again. L O fucking L
haha yea that was a pretty funny one...I always thought that Norman Stone was sort of a counterintuitive choice for a guy whose nickname was "the quiet man"
Andre Ward? Kostya Tszyu would kill him. That kid is not going to go very far in my opinion.
haha no Mickey Ward...Gatti never fought Andre Ward and its too early in Andre Ward's career to tell what he is going to ammount to.
