There are always excuses, Andre. No matter how you might win tonight, there will be excuses. Win a dominating 12 round shutout? You were boring. Knock him out in the first minute? You're on PEDs. Anything in between? You cheated with clinching and headbutts, even if you did neither.

I thought the first Provo - Herrera fight should have been a draw. Didn't see anything amazing to call the fight for either fighter. Had Hammering Hank beating Herrera in thier fight. I think both fights need rematches. just saying....

Seriously, I agree with Jeff Mayweather. #48 looked really bad in that fight. Reason Maidana did so well in his first fight with Floyd was because he was unorthodoxed. Floyd is a boxing professor and a defensive wizard but even he couldn't defend against wild punches coming over the top of his head. Loved how Floyd found out the hard way you don't hold Maidana's arm because he will beat you with the other till you let go or the ref saves you! In his 2nd fight, Maidana should have not tried to out-box Floyd. It just can't happen.
By the way, I am going to call him #48 until he mans up and tells Floyd he won. Till then he can have this.....:bottle:
Looking forward to this fight. I like both fighters and they bring a lot of skill to the table. FOTY? Maybe, that will be figured out later. Just hope there is better judging than Kovalev - Ward.

Just re-watched the fight and scored it without Max A$$ and the rest of the HBO Crew (minus Roy Jones JR :cool2: ) running their yaps. Had to watch rounds 7 and 11 twice because they were just too close to call and camera angles were really bad during Andre's mugging stunts.
My final scores are 116-112 for Kovalev. Had him winning rounds 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, and 11. Definitely a home cooked decision! Good job judges for embarrassing the USA. Now we fit in with the UK and Germany for protecting our fighters. Guess we can't really cry when they rob our fighters over seas!

Can any of these ****ing amateurs take just one proper picture from a balanced angle that shows who is actually taller? So far I've seen pics where Ward is 2 inches taller, where Kovalev is two inches taller, etc. I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHO IS TALLER.
Boxrec has them both at 6 feet so tie there. Kovalov has a 1.5 inch reach advantage. This is going to be an awesome fight because Kovalov out-pointed BHOP instead of KO'ing him. So he does have real boxing skill and isn't just a KO artist. I will be watching on the edge of my seat!

You mustve scoring head butts. The fight was 2-2 going into the 5th. Headbutt'n Hank knew he needed an unfair advantage, he deserved the loss.

I don't nut-hug any fighter because basically I just don't care. So, can you do the same? I am someone that outside of boxingscene that is known and respected for my opinion. Well, the good news is there are reported sightings that Chavez Jr trained for this fight. I doubt this is make or break for him. If Dad has to call in favors, maybe blow a promoter or 2, or out-right pay someone we will be seeing his son fight till his dying breath. What a shame!

Read a couple articles about Stevenson wanting the winner of the fight. Hope that happens cause he destroyed his credibility ducking out of the Kovalov show down. Pretty sad when the only way to get him in the ring was to call him Chickenson and then cluck at him! Just saying!
