Everyone makes mistakes, but it's your job to listen to for the bell and it was, believe it or not, a World title fight, so you should be one of the best at it. If you didn't hear it, fine. But you shouldn't be reffing at that level again anytime soon. Plenty of refs that can hear a bell out there. Refs to wear hearing aids? Just make the clapper and bell louder - amplify the bell sound.

Since it's kind of a political thing, if it is, as you are describing it, having the UK as the biggest supporter of Ukraine, could it be that this politics translates into protecting Ukrainian athletes? It's interesting what you are saying. But why now? True, boxing has always been through vicissitudes, but it is now regulated and well-studied. There are sports with a higher death rate. No, nothing to do with supporting Ukranian athletes imo. They are banning blood sports and as with all socialists there's a core thread about government protecting the people from themselves - which considering the stoopidity of the majority isn't a bad idea - the issue is who gets to choose and based on what criteria.

It is just human nature that all these people that are stunned by what they see are not judging the fight based on what is going on but on what they thought is going to happen against what is actually happen, so what comes out is that people only saw what Rico did and somehow he clearly won 8 out of 10 rounds but the reality was it was actually super close and the round by rounds punch stats reflected that as well and also somehow different than usually with controversial scorecards all 3 of the judges had been almost aligned on the rounds. The judging was not terrible at all i had it 6-4 Rico but could be 5-5 but all that being said the Ref was absolute terrible that was a disgrace and for sure it was a UK ref. This needs to stop they ruin it for everyone the fighters and actually both fighters the one losing and the one winning who is also robbed of putting a decisive ending to it + all fans. Lets start banning ref from big time fights and start with this r*tard and put Howard Foster and Mark Bates on that list as well. I'm so tired of UK refs. Awful take Pugmire. Fight shouldn't have happened in the 1st place. The stoppage was premature at best and wrong at worst. Nevertheless, Usyk at end of the 11th was up by 2 points on 2 scorecards. Rico would have needed a knockdown in the 12th for a majority draw. Or a stoppage for a win. Wasn't going to happen or at least 5% chance of it happening. Kabayel first and if he beats him then maybe Rico 2. In the meantime, if you got gifted an entrance into the sport and performed way beyond expectation then that doesn't mean you are suddenly entitled to ignore everyone else around you. Fugh no! You didn't prove anything before you got your shot but you can certainly go and do so now - go fight Bakole or Zhang on an undercard - if you can beat them we can say you did the work to deserve to be where you are now.

Has to be Kabayel - he is the most deserving. Next most deserving is Hgrovic I do not want to see Hgrovic-Kabayel whilst Usyk fights Dubois for a third time . I also do NOT care to see Usyk Wilder. Wilder scraping past Chisora doesn't justify that fight. Kabayel is not a household name, not even in Germany. But neither was Usyk before he beat Joshua. If Kabayel were to beat Usyk then I'd be happy to see him fight Dubois. If he would beat Dubois then he'd be a name and an attraction. That's the proper way to make genuine boxing stars.

Umm - I can understand your frustration Roll - but in truth this site is just reflecting the lack of buzz around American boxing and the tremendous buzz in Britain about boxing. That's why they have as many British writers as American ones. Torrez is fighting this weekend - he's waaaay better than Harrison ...... but where's the buzz? Another thing about US boxers - they are not active enough > Mason, Schofield, Hitchens and Moton - and they often yap more than fight > Keyshawn, Ryan, Haney, Hitchens - still, there are great fighters too - Bam and Benavidez who are better than any British fighter.

Chukhadzhian looks tight at he weight. An overlooked fight imo - if Chuk fights as he did in the Ennis fights, esp the 2nd one, he should cruise to a UD - and maybe even a late KO as Donovan is a bit chinny.
