MANNHEIM, Germany – Both Karen Chukhadzhian and Paddy Donovan came in on the welterweight limit ahead of tomorrow’s IBF title eliminator.
The winner of their clash will get to face the winner of the Australia-staged bout between challenger Liam Paro and champion Lewis Crocker, who Donovan has already twice boxed.
The fighters both scaled 146 1/2lbs and spoke of the importance of the fight. Ukraine’s Chukhadzhian admitted it was a crossroads bout. Donovan said he was happy to be in Germany but made it clear he was here on business and was not here to see the sights or sample the culture.
“I want to put on a show, this is a sink or swim fight,” said the Irishman.
