Dinu was knocked out in 1 round by Helenius as an amateur. He's fought absolutely no one as a pro. His last fight was against a guy who is 1-11 in his last 12. He's nothing more than a sacrificial lamb for Fat Baby.
Why would anyone care what Mayweather thinks? He gets jealous when other American fighters get the spotlight. Plus, he probably had piles of money bet on Fury.
I was very impressed with Haney. The kid is 19, and just toyed with a tough vet who was 33-2-2. That's pretty remarkable if you ask me. But, you know "boxing fans", always complaining and looking for negatives.
Exactly. They are denying something his own team acknowledges. I wouldn’t say he is significantly smaller but definitely smaller. The question is on purpose or because of no PEDs.
Right. Canelo himself has said during numerous interviews this week, that he was much lighter during camp for this fight than he was for the 1st fight. Canelo's fans won even listen to what he has been repeating all week.
What about Charlo ?
Did they fight again and I missed it ?
No, there's no need. Charlo beat him going away, almost stopped him in the 12th. Charlo would obliterate Korobov in a rematch, he had Matty's timing down by the late rounds and was landing big shots. Remember it was short notice for Charlo too. It just took him a some rounds to adjust to Korobov's southpaw style and Matty is a tough dude. Jermall much faster and the bigger puncher.
Rivas-Jennings is an interesting scrap, as both guys need a nice win. Jennings is 34 already and this is a pretty big step up in opponent for Rivas. Oscar is a very short HW for this day and age, and Jennings has a freaky 84" reach for a guy 6'3". Solid match-up. I'm leaning towards Jennings with his length, solid jab and experience against world class opposition in Klitschko and Ortiz.
Heck yea jrocks a good fight.
anyone think smith took a dive? Or think it looked like it?
You must not know much about Ishe Smith. No way, no how that dude ever took a dive. He's a proud warrior, that just happened to get old on Saturday night. It happens to everyone that hangs around long enough. Dude is 40, man. Much respect to Ishe on a solid career. Enjoy retirement.
imagine if gvozdyk did not ko stevenson. there would have been two high profile robberies in one night. this sport is truly corrupt and a joke. nothing can save it. donald trump should do the right thing and completely outlaw and ban boxing forever. put it out of its misery for good. this is a dumb joke sport.
Then don't watch, it's a pretty simple solution. You don't have to cry about it.
another nail in the coffin of american boxing, sad to see.
What are you even talking about? There's more boxing on TV than ever right now. I'll be able to watch 6 different cards this weekend from my living room, and 4 of them are US cards.
Lee has beaten absolutely nobody to earn a title shot. He’s fought nothing but club fighters. Way too easy of a 1st defense for Plant. He’ll box circles around the slow handed, plodding Lee. Lame fight.
Not because dedication he just to big to keep trying squeeze down to 160lbs and too small for 168lbs and not good enough to demand catch weight fights against the better competition
Lemieux is not a huge MW, he's 5'9" and doesn't have wide shoulders. He often looks like he's carrying an extra 5 pounds of flesh on him. Sometimes he looks doughy and soft and other times he looks lean and in shape. I think it absolutely is lack of dedication. He doesn't keep himself in shape between fights. It's a shame because I enjoy watching David fight. He's limited, but he makes entertaining fights, I always enjoy watching an old school home run hitter throw bombs.
Nobody want to fight Horn because he brings nothing to the table. He's not a draw, brings no money, brings no name value, and all of the top WWs know they gain nothing by piss-pounding him. Crawford toyed with the poor guy. Horn had absolutely nothing for him. Stick to fighting in Australia, Jeff. Nobody else wants to watch you.
Just an awful fight. Ustinov is completely worthless and Hunter was just winging wild shots because he knew he had a corpse in front of him. Horrible fight on a an absolutely horrible card. Hunter has looks soft and fat at 213, time to go back to Cruiser.
It’s too bad, I was very interested in seeing Boo Boo- BJS. Good test for both guys, but once Saunders showed up at 178 for his last fight I had a hunch we wouldn’t see him back at MW. Both guys seem to be wasting their prime years fighting mediocre opponents.
LOL i love it. Both wilder and the gyppo called AJ a chicken. But now its wilder who wants to swerve a second loss to fury by cashing out big time to joshua. LOL you couldn't make this up.
Sorry, he didn't lose to Fury. He's still the undefeated WBC champ. AJ-Wilder for all the belts. Let's do it!
In the post fight Wilder said that he was sparring guys for 2 rounds each in rotation.
Yeah, my bad, I misread it. Scott said he threw zero right hands in sparring leading up to the fight.
Funny how the Spence haters are ripping him for fighting Mikey. Spence didn’t ask for it, he simply said yes. These same people would be saying Errol was scared of Mikey and avoiding tough fights if he turned it down. Lose, lose situation. And quit mentioning Thurman’s name, he wants no part of Spence. Guaranteed Thurman fights Manny next. He won’t even mention Spence’s name anymore.
Showtime is playing the Davis-Pedraza fight right now. Watching a 22 year old Tank just destroy Pedraza is even more impressive when you consider how competitive Pedraza was with Loma. Man that kid has some serious talent.
I think Stiverne might gas during his ring walk. He will probably have to take a knee halfway there. Absolutely embarrassing. It will be over in under a minute.
They weren't struggles really. Linares, somewhat. It was his first fight at 135 and his arm popped in two rounds. Pedraza? He won 10 or 11 rounds, controlled the whole thing and made Pedraza miss all night. Not remotely a struggle. I don't think Linares is a "bum", he's had a good career, gotten some good wins and has accomplished more than Davis and gotten to #1 in more divisions than Davis (i.e more than 0).
Crolla is a "good fighter" yes. An elite or great one? No chance. Just because a fighter isn't a legend or a personal favorite doesn't make him a "bum". Like I said, Crolla is more accomplished than Davis and if both retired today he'd rank higher based on his career. Probably because he's stepped up more often. Tank is living off that Pedraza win. That's his Buster Douglas moment but there's far more depth to Crolla's resume - Perez, Barosso for example are bigger wins than Tank's and even the scalps like Yordan, Burns add a bit more depth making his overall resume superior to Tank's or Pedraza's or Ruiz', of course.
Lomachenko-Crolla is a crap fight. It's a mandatory that's likely to be next because Commey pulled out. It's far better than anything Tank has fought in the last 2 years or will face in the next year. He's a lightweight at least. It will be dominant but to get mad at a mandatory that's happening because a champ got injured is a bit extreme. You'd sing a different tune if Tank fought him.
Tank by your own admission and you're a huge fan of him, has never fought anything more than C level and then D level guys. It's a bit rich to criticize proven boxers who've accomplished far more, gotten to #1 in multiple divisions, often fight with men their size or bigger and it's a bit sad that Tank continues to talk trash but openly admits he doesn't want to fight the dude.
You do realize when Loma was Tank's age, he was still fighting 3-rounders in headgear, right? He didn't even turn pro until he was 25 because he said he wanted to be fully matured first. Now that is being protected and brought along slowly.
not at all? he lost 10 rounds to 2 and got knocked down twice. he won at least a round or 2 against tank in half that time before the ref stopped it after he got knocked down once. dont see why you are trying to revise history. he fought completely different against loma as well refusing to go toe to toe like he did against tank. he landed way more solid shots against tank than against loma he was just outgunned and eventually wilted. he tried to box loma and had almost no success before wilting and basically being stopped(ref in the tank fight wold have stopped it) is this the fight tank fans are going to tout as his great fight? pedraza? its not even in lomas top 5 wins :smashfrea
Don't be so sensitive dude. I'm a big Loma fan, I just didn't think he looked great against Pedraza. Nothing wrong with saying that. It's called being objective. Not everything Loma does has to be amazing. The guy had a mediocre night, that's ok. And again, just because I said Tank looked great vs Pedraza, doesn't necessarily mean, I'm this giant Tank fan. It's alright to have a gray area. Not everything has to be black and white. Nowhere did I say that Tank is better than Loma. I simply gave the dude a couple compliments. My god.
You're not going to lose your Loma fan card if you say something critical about him, it will be fine. You can still be a fan and be objective.
I'd like to see Lopez get a couple more fights before fighting Loma. Late 2019 would be ideal. Teofimo is very explosive, has great hand speed and great timing, and I for one, would love to see it. Easy fight to make for Top Rank and 135 doesn't have a lot of elite talent a the top of the division right now. Late '19 makes perfect sense.
Both direll brothers are bums, btchhes , quiters
When did Anthony ever quit? The guy came back from 2 year battle with cancer and went on to win a world title. That's no quitter, don't lump him in with his brother.
To everyone ripping Tank's level of opponent and praising Loma's, you do remember that at 24 Loma was still beating up little kids in headgear, right? You want to talk about moving slowly, Loma waited until he was freakin 25 to finally turn pro. Let's have a little perspective here folks.
Ryan Garcia moved up and fights at 135 now cause he said it was difficult to make 130 so IDK why the WBO still has him ranked at 130...??
But you're right, Cancio can fight Alvarado or Lamont Roach Jr, or even JoJo Diaz so he has plenty of options within his own stable...
Plus, JoJo already stopped Cancio at 126, so I'm sure it's a fight JoJo would gladly take for a world title. And Golden Boy desperately wants to get Diaz a title too. So I can see it happening soon.
Great fight but the wait is perplexing
There seems to be a money issue. Baranchyk's team said they still haven't received their win bonus from the 1st fight from the WBSS. The WBSS is apparently also not returning calls and refusing to put money in escrow tp guaruntee purses for the next round, which was supposed to happen between January and March.
Solid prospect. Good hand speed for a big fella. Probably needs to get stronger and work on his defense, but he's only 26. I will definitely be keeping an eye on him. I think he could be a player at HW soon.
Garcia is boxing Cheeseman's giant ears off. Cheeseman is awful technically, he has no jab and just wings wild shots. I thought he was supposed to be decent.
Breazeale should fight Miller or Whyte in a ******* eliminator. That's 3 sets of legit C-cups right there. Boxing certainly doesn't need that many floppy sets of man boobs.
