I still can't belive he made 92M for running all over the ring against Joshua...
Can't think of any other prizefighter capable of making the amount of money he banked in his career with such mediocre talent. Props to him, next level snake oil salesman!
He just fought, Wardley vs. Dubois is early May; perfect timing to make Itauma scrap with the winner for the WBO strap next. Then, if he is able to pass the test convincingly, which would be a big improvment in oppenent quality, he would be more than deserving to take on the winner of Usik Kabayel.
This woul be the perfect move for him, at least if his team and promoter truly belive the hype they spreading around...
Please, all this commotion for knocking out an overweight Franklin. Maybe start fighting and beating the winner of Wardley vs Dubois, it would be an all british title fight and a huge improvement in terms of opponent quality, then you can talk about Usik (or even Kabayel, to be fair).
Considering that Usik will presumably take the rest of 2026 off after the farce against Rico, Itauma and Kabayel need to fight to establish the rightful number 1 contender.
Extremely curious to see how Itauma would fair against a top contender that actually punch back....and punch hard too!
Pretty interesting fight, i belive Dubois' power and habit to fight top contenders ultimately is gonna be too much for a raw and not very expirenced brawler like Wardley.
Anyway, with Fury, Wilder and Itauma busy, the only available option (and most deserving title fight) for Usik is Kabayel, at least if he wanna fight in the first half of 2026. They would definitely pack the Alianz Arena!
Very well, pretty interesting fight!
Now, with these two facing each other, Fury otherwise engaged, Wilder luckily buisy locking horns with Chisora and Itauma still intent on fighting the corpse of Franklin, the only route left avaible for Usik is the one that brings to Kabayel. That or reterment.
Dubois by stoppage
I highly doubt but i hope Itauma. These two and Parker are the only real challenge for Usyk, so it would be grand if they fight each other in order to enstablish the most worthy contender for the ukranian.
Zhang is 40 and huge. Usyk can just out-move and out box-him until Zhang tires. Grab on when Zhang gets close. Usyk has a lot of stamina, Zhang does not. Plus Zhang will come in light. Which is a mistake - Usyk is already winning when an opponent chamges how they fight to match him
Don't know man. One of those fast letf to the solar plexus and the kurgan is gonna curl in to a ball on the canvas and doesn't get up until the ref count 100!
No Fury fan here, after the kd i was actually hoping for the big upset by stoppage, it would have been too funny to watch....expecially the aftermath!
That said, i'm 100% convinced that greedy belly didn't train properly and underestimeted Ngannou, and once he got in there and things took the wrong turn, he wasn't capable to mentally switch into a more competitive mindset and struggled way more than he expected.
To me there is too much commotion about what was supposed to be a glorified sparring session, pretty sure that with the belt on the line we would have seen a diffrent Fury!
Totally dislike Wilder arrogant and delusional personality, he spent the last 3 years being unable to cop with 2 brutal losses and making idiotic excuses one after the other. That said, i agree with him in this istance, i consider both WIlder vs Parker and Dubois vs Miller more interesting and intriguing than Joshua vs Wallin.
If cautious Joshua shows up, considering Wallin is no killer, we are in for 12 boring ass rounds...
Not a Fury fan here. Like a poster once wrote, watching him fighting is like watching a bear dancing; amazing that such a big man has that kind of footwork and coordination, but he really can't help not to look aesthetically ugly and clumsy. Usyk on the other hand is a terrific pugilist, very accurate and smooth with his shots, a pleasure to watch boxing.
That said i'm 100% confident that Fury, if they fight, is gonna wreck Usyk. Diffrently from Joshua and Dubois, Fury knows how to use his size both from the outside (infinite reach) and the inside (mauling), he cuts the ring preatty well and when he sits on his punches, he can seriously hurt anyone.
Usyk simply doesn't have the power to keep at bay for 12 rounds someone that went unscarred through 30 rounds and several knockdowns against a puncher like Wilder, and prevent him to keep digging into that vulnerable torso of his. To me that is what their fight would be in a nutshell...
I agree with Frampton.
I belive Fury handled his training camp doing as little as possibile for what was supposed to be an easy circus fight/money grab. It backfired big time!
Pretty sure he's gonna train properly for the Usyk fight, and we are gonna see the same difference in performances we saw between the Wallin fight and the 2 against Wilder. Greedy belly clearly needs to be highly motivated to move his big ass in camp and function the right way inside the ring.
Even Usyk sucked against Chisora and Witherspoon and didn't shine vs Dubois (actually got knocked out in 5...), so it's not unseen to perform below standard in secondary fights and then change level when you face an elite opponent. Motivation is key in pro sports, expecially in a tough/demanding discipline like boxing.
Itauma is to green, let Usyk Parker & Kabayel have they're fights & Itauma should be ready by then to fight a winner or pick up a vacant belt.
People are Talking about Moses as 80's Tyson reincarnated, so Kabayel would be a perfect match to test this notion. Surely wasn't 37 old Whyte.
Itauma team is talking about facing Usyk right now, just saying.
I mean, with the ukrainian temporarly out, it makes sense for the rest of the pack to fight each other to determine the righful contender. Parker vs Wardley, Kabayel vs Itauma and the 2 winners then fight for a shot to the throne. At least in an ideal world.
Apparently the fight got postponed to february!
https://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/id/38789002/sources-tyson-fury-oleksandr-usyk-title-bout-set-february
I prefer Usyk both as fighter and as human being. That said, i belive he's gonna get stopped!
Posters here are too influenced by the Ngannou fight, a supposedly easy money grab Fury was clearly unprepared for. I'm preatty sure we are gonna see a diffrent Fury come Feb 17.
Anyway, just happy the fight is gonna happen, then may the best man win...
Shakur Stevenson: I Don't Believe Fury Trained For 12 Weeks, He Didn't Look Like He Trained
Me neither. He looked fatter than usual and sloppier than ever!
Zhang has legit one punch ko power, but more importantly i belive he got the fastest hands in the top 10, even faster than Ruiz. His left is a damn rocket, and extremly accurate too!
Add to this the fact that he took shots from Hergovich (got robbed against) and Joyce without any problem, that Usyk is feather fisted and the overall size difference between the two, and we got a real 50/50 fight.
you'll never know that, nor will anyone know that he would have gotten up and been able to finish the round. that's the problem with an officiating screwup
I know what i (and you) saw, that he spend way over 10 seconds on the canvas and took 5 full minutes to recover. I might concur that knowing he was being counted by the ref, he would have made a diffrent kind of effort to get up, but he genuinely looked hurt and compromised, at least to rise and continue inside 10 seconds.
