Crawford has a boring personality. Same as Spence. If they ever fight the press conferences will dull as **** with Spence's voice cracking all the time and Bud being soft spoken. But they're killers in the ring and should be a good scrap.
Yeah, but Spence is more attention-getting than Bud definitely.
He aint fighting a live dog anytime in the next decade. They are building a franchise and the plan isn't to get their man beat. They'll feed him guys he can only lose to if he fuks it up.
Forget Haney, Loma, Teo you'll never see it. As long as the hood rats are buying tickets and PPV's he'll keep doing what he's doing.
If i was TMT i'd make the Garcia fight, it's commercially viable and Tank has got zero chance to lose. But even GBP aren't stupid enough to feed Ryan to Tank so they can't even get that one over the line.
yeah, i mean I also don't see Tank int he ring with the names we want him in there with.
All in the name of lame, greeday fatcat politics, Tank is being fed what he is being fed opponent-wise.
Hes very competitive but I just threw dancing with the stars out there as an example.
But all these youtubers have channels with millions of followers, he could literally go play a bball game 1 on 1 against a big youtuber.
My point is there are so many outlets out there to at least get his name/face out there and his competitiveness will attract fans.
That is facts man. I agree
Well Ellerbe didn't even mask it when he said Tank fans are dumb and they can feed them any old nonsense and they will lap it up cuz they have no clue.
Oh my gosh!! That greedy fat cat said that???
What a sleeze ball!!
I hope he does.
Remember guys, Pitbull Cruz is no joke of an opponent. It may not sell as much as Rolando vs Davis would, but in the ring I believe it will be a tougher opponent than the largely untested Rolando.
You got a point.
Yet the thing here is that Pitbull's style is perfect for Tank to KO. It is no coincidence they selected him as replacement.
I get what you're saying though.
Nope, I see no desire in this dude to be great. Remember when Canelo made Goldenboy mayke the Lara fight even though they were telling him no? That shows a fighter that wants to be great. Tank is content fighting whoever his garbage promoter puts in front of him, knowing it won't be anyone worth a darn cause they are scared to match him against the best
Wow,
I mean I think what you said is the case definitely.
It's sad man because it's making Tank look bad as each easy opponent is given him.
Right, I mean it seems like at Presses, Bud usually never does his part.
I will check that video out later. You have a You Tube channel?
Wow man!
I just saw the video, great input!!
Is that your channel???
You're interested in who the better fighter is, huh?
You don't apply that same science to every fighter.
That's what you're not getting. Your bias is clear. You like this ONE guy.
Spoiler:
You are not who the promoters want at the shows, because they know you'll eat whatever crap they hand you anyway.
They want new money. At some point, you'll have to wrap your head around this truth.
There's a very important reason that TILL THIS DAY!!...Conor McGregor draws more money than anyone in UFC combined, despite losses and barely fighting. And it ain't his F'n matches.
Facts, I actually suspected dude as a Bud man fan. LOL.
All good though. But what you are saying is facts man regarding the sport.
Neither is Crawford, since according to his promoter, hes a money loss leader.
So this narrative that all people care about is what goes on in the ring was debunked by Arum himself.
You need personality and character. Period. You are the minority. Stay in your bubble and watch your guy continue to suck at the gate because you aren't pushing him to do his job OUTSIDE the ring.
I mean that's the thing,
hardcore Boxing fans are definitely the minority.
I can care less about the business aspect but even me, who can care less about that stuff, understand that fighters have to be attention-getting in their approach and personality.
He’s beaten some pretty big names already, but I’m not fully buying in to the p4p hype until he beats someone like López or if he brutally knocked the spark out Haney. I wouldn’t even be overly impressed if he beat Lomacheno at this point since he’s old and has arm problems all the time now.
That's well said. I definitely appreciate some competition he has won in his career.
I just think it's time for his team to step it up for him after this pitbull guy with them names you mentioned definitely. Or vs Josh Taylor for Undisputed at 140
I'd be surprised. I gave him credit for the Pedraza fight and the Barrios fight. The rest of his career hasn't meant much. It's sad considering he's the oldest of the "4 kings" and could easily be surpassed by Haney or Garcia and already significantly surpassed by Teofimo.
Very well said.
I give credit to Tank also for a few nice fights.
But according to the point of his career, he really needs his handlers to step it up with top competition.
Boxing fans (not manfans) are seeing the trend with how he is being handled and people are speaking out.
We'll see what's next after Tank washes this Pitbull guy.
Terence is an herb compared to Floyd
Floyd had opinions that go against the grain
Floyd was direct about wanting to fight Tsyzu ODLH Mosley and other great fighters
Terence does not care at all
Facts.
I mean, just by analyzing Bud's body language and how he talks, it kind of seems like he probably doesn't have much passion for the sport anymore.
I appreciate Crawford's no bs mentality. No circus act reality TV bs with that guy, he's an all business assassin in there. my only concern with him is his age, I'm afraid that he's pretty much over the hill by now or by the fight after Porter. It would be a shame if he clearly slowed down before we saw him in there with Errol Spence, who himself might be done too, and others at welterweight and super welterweight. The way his career has been managed is a travesty.
Concerning Bud over the hill I agree.
I been saying for a while (on my You Tube channel) that I definitely can see Bud retiring soon, maybe two more fights and he's gone.
And I doubt he fights Spence. He has said several times that Spence is past him.
It’s part of the game. It’s prize fighting. You have to sell yourself.
Floyd didn’t start doing big numbers until he took on the money persona and started talking ****.
Before that he was known as a top P4P guy who was pretty quite most of the time. Haymon taught him how to sell himself like one of Al’s music acts.
That is facts.
It was boring because, as Porter spoiled, Crawford didn't do his part. BoMac tried, but Kenny Porter took him to school.
Meanwhile...here's what I thought:
https://youtu.be/9qvRynojGd4
Right, I mean it seems like at Presses, Bud usually never does his part.
I will check that video out later. You have a You Tube channel?
Saw Crawford on Jalen and Jacoby on ESPN yesterday. Was sad. Those guy are trying to hype up the fight and Crawford is mumbling and bumbling like he’s half asleep. Anyone watching that interview had no reason to watch this guy fight.
I mean that's exactly the thing.
In most his interviews he's like that. Super boring man and makes people not want to listen to him at all. I think a lot of how he expresses himself in the media is the reason why a lot of people don't pay attention to him. Seems like he cares less about the fans out there.
I think you’re right. Realistically, the earliest this fight happens is late 2022.
I think both take an interim fight in the first half of 2022 and then maybe we get the best fight in boxing later in the year but I can’t say I’m that optimistic.
Well said man.
I honestly am not optimistic in them fighting. We can play the blame game all day, which Boxing circles do a lot, yet I really do think a lot has to do with Bud and his team in not getting the fight along with his former boss Bob as Bud himself has confessed that in the post press.
In any case, it sucks and is super lame these guys haven't fought yet.
At the same time, I think Spence could have been more aggressive in seeking Bud to fight him also. Not so sure if both really want it at this point.
Sucks for the fans
Yeah it’s a two way street man, both are culpable for the fight not happening when it really should have. Neither would admit it but I suspect both were content earning multimillions per fight without having to face each other. The best fight the best when they’re 35 instead of 25 these days…
You got a good point.
And that's true, these guys unfortunately wait until around the end of their careers to face each other, it's lame but it is what it is right?
We live in hope,
But no of course he won't.
Yeah it seems like with Floyd and Ellerbe they will continue giving him these types of matchups where they'll know Tank can KO them.
Crawford reiterates he doesn’t care if the Spence fight happens. But he also said the first thing he’ll do once he’s a free agent is ask for the Spence fight and see if TR was really the problem.
I mean, he has said several things that kind of don't coincide.
Yet I highly doubt he tries and/or pushes to fight Spence imho.
We'll see though I hope the best for the champ.
You's a damn lie.

Etc etc etc.
These are the guys who you remember decades after the fact.
Nobody remembers Freddie Norwood. Because he had no personality. One of the best fighters in the business and you'd struggle to remember a fight he had.
Nobody remembers Harold Sconiers except that he dropped Wilder. Yet that guy fought many who would go on to championship gold.
You've got to have a character. That's what sells bro. I don't care if you call yourself a real fan, you're lying if you say that you only care about boring fighters with no personality. You dial in because this guy over here is a trash talker and you want to see him get his ass kicked - because that's the personality.
Very true!
Historically, Most legends, if not all, all mixed up the buildups of fights with a whole lot of charisma, enthusiasm and energy, Bud does NONE of that.
Yeah it’s definitely held him back in terms of attracting fans. He always seems disengaged with a lot of the media stuff.
I like Crawford by a clear decision, I think he’ll box quite cautiously compared to recent fights.
Oh ok I see.
Yeah, I mean in this digital era, I think should have taken more opportunity via the digital means, he would have had A LOT more doors open up for him as opposed to his dry personality.
I actually got Bud by KO in Rd 7.
He might have to retire if the WBA stops handing out vacant Regular Title fights.
Yeah, them regular belts are foolish.
Good thing is WBA finally woke up out of that idiocy and is starting to eliminate them belts.
Money is made from CASUAL fans.
They want characters.
We've seen it time and again.
Ali didn't get over with casuals because of the boring ass clinchfest that was Rumble in the Jungle.
He got over because of his mouth.
Facts, Ali was one of the best, or the best to do it
Will someone significant fight Tank is what I wanna know?
That's kind of my complaint as of late with Tank man.
More than anything it's his greedy handlers that are keeping him away from the significant REAL competitive fights.
He doesn't have to play the villian. He has to have a CHARACTER. It doesn't matter what character, he needs one.
You know it's bad when F'n Canelo is more interesting to watch interview than Crawford when that dude barely spoke English 3 years ago.
Say SOMETHING more than "we'll see Saturday night".
Here's Floyd talking about the need to do it to build yourself when you're young and unproven. Crawford is young(ish) and unproven. He's not Floyd. He's not close and never will be at this rate.
Floyd wasn't getting paydays until he turnt up. In his case, he was inspired by pro wrestling too and decided to become a heel.
But the point is you have to SELL your character to the fans or they won't dial in. Whether it's to cheer you or see you lose, you have to get them engaged with something.
https://youtu.be/LMAgc11Y1ow
Here's when Floyd was turnt up, telling the truth but cutting a promo to sell the fight. Even Gatti, slurring as he was, sold better than Crawford.
https://youtu.be/Ew8_xMvN4HU
Thats is BIG FACTS!!
And in my original post, I mentioned nothing at all regarding Bud being some kind of villain.
You are spot on man, I agree.
These fighters got to wake the heck up and take notes form the legends from the past.
Most, if not all, legends knew how to sell fights in regards to their personalities and character
He has to let his fists do the talking. I think stopping Porter will at least give Bud credit from boxing fans. As far as becoming a big draw among casuals? Well thatll have to be done through publicity. Bud needs to go on a reality show or 2. Like that 1 where they eat hot wings or dancing with the stars or something like that. Hell even going on WWE or AEW.
Well said.
Publicity, good ideas but that is precisely the problem. He does none of that nor does he even have the personality to remotely fit into any of that.
Well, i guess Bud is just Bud, haha!
