This is like the 50th time I see this garbage, veiled racist crap... I, for one, resent being told that us Americans are for sale and would sell out our principles for cash...that we come from a culture that is bought and sold and the Philippines, in contrast, are these benevolent beings...enough. Most Americans who come out against Pacquiao aren't doing so because of the money involved...They're angry because the Fight of the Millennium is being called off due to what would end up being a minor inconvenience to Manny... Per USADA rules (from their own quarterly newsletter), only about a half tablespoon would be taken, total and there would likely be only 2 blood tests within 30 days of the fight...Manny would likely shed more blood in a sparring session than what would be asked of him. You used the example of Jamaican sprinter Asafa Powell.... Why would a Jamaican be tested by the UNITED STATES Anti-doping agency? Actually, in Powell's case, he agreed to voluntarily take part in an anti-doping project sponsored by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) so he was tested double the normal amount by the IOC and the IAAF... You can write what you like and believe what you want, but could the Pacquiao fans stop insulting American culture in their defense of a man who has already proven himself to be an untrustworthy husband and business partner (just ask his wife and Golden Boy, respectively)?.

I don't mind Pac having a random test but its what Mayweathe wants. PBF wants the USADA to do the testing but from what i read is that there are 7 blood and 12 urine tests. That is a lot of tests. And Mayweather is just gonna brag about the testing, saying how he is controlling Pac with all those testing. As far as Pac on illegal substances, NSAC has cleared him, stating he passed all the drug test that he took on all of his fights in Nevada. If you read the USADA's own handbook, you'd see that they would end up conducting 2 blood tests where a total of a half tablespoon of blood would be extracted... No big deal at all. The USADA has supreme experience in dealing with some of the finest athletes in the world... As a matter of fact, if the USADA had the same "honor" and "principles" as Pacquiao, they would sue his ass off for defaming their reputation as a testing agency...

Because the USADA is a subsidiary of the WADA. The WADA oversees all agencies regarding Olympic testing. So the USADA answers to WADA protocols and policies. Therefore Asafa Powell being tested under one Olympic agency would mean no difference who did it. It was all done under the WADA's testing procedures. Again: Asafa Powell chose to be a volunteer in an anti-doping program which resulted in him being tested double the normal amount... Typical USADA protocol is two blood tests within what would be the 30 day, pre-fight period. Testing after the fight is pointless, 30 days before is also pointless...When you agree to random testing, you can't decide when to take the test...but this is beside the point... Nobody with common sense is buying the "it goes against Filipino principles" excuse...and bashing Americans and our culture is no way to win people over...

Freakish. If Paul Williams were Mexican or Puerto Rican everybody would be treating him like a warrior god...If he were Filipino, he would BE a god... But Americans don't support their own fighters... Given his difficulty in finding opponents, he's done quite well for himself and deserves the proper credit for shutting out Wright, making a very durable Phillips quit and for beating a guy like Margarito who everybody was fawning over as the next great warrior... I'd like to see him further tested, but who wants a piece of him?

The knock against Pacquiao is that he doesn't fight African American fighters...not because of their race, but because of their style. It's absolutely true that Pacquiao has never fought a slick, "American style" boxer...

This thread is silly...race is not the factor...Style is....Pacquiao has never faced a slick, defensive "American Style" fighter...Pacquiao has fought guys who come forward and can't make him miss with any regularity. A slick, mobile counter-puncher will make Pacquiao look silly...That's why his people never chose to fight those types of fighters...

The article is POINTLESS because Chavez Jr. cant make 154 anymore and if Martinez stays at 160, the WBC ordered him to fight Zbik. Well, this reply was POINTLESS because Martinez ISN'T fighting Zbik and Chavez Jr. WAS being pushed to fight at 154 up until very recently... So much for the experts, eh?

IMO, any fan or writer who calls a pro fighter a chicken or coward immediately loses all credibility... Having said that, though, I think it's fair game to say that maybe a fighter with world class skills could possibly not have the mental resolve to go to war if need be. I think that appears to be the case with Ortiz and, as the article states, Golden Boy seems to also doubt Ortiz's mental toughness. What else explains GBP buying up Ortiz's opponents prior to signing fights? Golden Boy bought Nate Campbell, Vivian Harris and now, possibly, Paulie as cannon fodder for Ortiz. IMO, none of these guys had/have a prayer of beating Ortiz, but Golden Boy seems reluctant to match him up without first covering their asses against another Ortiz mental breakdown...

Nobody knows...and nobody outside of Arum and Pacquiao are even acknowledging that such a contract exists...That's why I proposed in another thread that Arum just plainly and simply send copies of the alleged contract, in its full form, to the media so we can all see what's REALLY going on...

Think...EVERYTHING we know about these alleged negotiations has come from Arum's mouth...take it all with a grain of salt. By the way, I'm the writer of the article posted in this thread. The smart fight fans need to start getting together to debunk the garbage that gets passed off as truth these days. Is Marquez vs. Diaz on PPV in Mexico or on free tv? I'm pretty sure it'll be on free TV, probably Azteca 7, but it will be on a two hour tape delay...There hasn't been a fight on PPV in Mexico since the Julio Cesar Chavez-Kostya Tszyu fight...Most Mexican cable systems aren't equipped to do PPV and the satellite dish companies don't have the money to get exclusive rights...I know this because I live in Mexico...

Let's be real here...These guys like Marley sat on this story for 2 or 3 days and are only reporting it now because it has been all over social media and the smaller sites...they were shamed into reporting it and, even now, bring up Arum's good deed in conjunction, so as to slightly diminish Mayweather's....I don't really care about who gets what credit or why...I just find it interesting how some "reporters" operate and what makes them tick...

The CSAC rejected Margarito because he openly thumbed his nose at the commission punishment by fighting down in Mexico and mugging to the camera while mockingly holding his taped fists up and twirling them around...Then he would sign on to take another fight before he even met with the commission. These are the actions of someone who has learned nothing from what happened and someone who obviously does not respect the sport, it's authorities, or its athletes...As such, how can any commission give him back a license that involves him taking another fighter's life in his hands? Of course, as everyone knows, Texas does NOT have a real commission anyway...

The sad thing is that Marley has been around the sport for decades and has been writing for a very long time. It amazes me how someone so lacking in ability and ethics can still find a home for his junk articles. But he HAS found the perfect home at Examiner.com. They pay their writers a penny per article view. So, the sleazier writers just make a bunch of junk articles, put provocative titles on them and count the pennies as people click on the article. I've communicated with Michael Marley and he actually believes himself to be "a master." Wow. Boxingscene is really lowering their quality and respect level by allowing junk like this on their site. Maybe the editors don't even care anymore and just want junk clicks on their site.

Quick statement here.... Why the hell is Ronnie Nathanielsz even allowed anywhere near a major boxing site?
