The bitter truth of Parker's indomitable will, the horrible knowledge of a fortune suddenly lost, the foresight of his death-blow, the unpalatable pill of a first loss where no loss was thought possible, the horrible fallacy of his charmed destiny, his every self-delusion reduced to rubble, will be written on the sorry face of Anthony Joshua come March 31.
..........and that you get more time to recover.
I reckon: tip over a bucket of water in the corner, get time called, then suddenly 6 seconds into the round the doctor absolutely needs to check on Wilder's health when in between rounds it wasn't necessary???
I'll take the over on Joshua being finished is all I know. We shall see who's right over the next few years.
truly, I hope you prove me wrong. I hope Joshua stays for a long time yet. The heavyweight division has been in the doldrums for so long. It would suck to see a guy like Joshua depart so early. He such an exciting fighter. Love his fights. I will definitely be supporting him against Ruiz in the rematch.
Idk about finished. Mfers love saying people are finished doe so its not like this is unexpected to hear from people, but a lil more surprising to hear from fighters.
Definitely agree Joshua would have a hard time beating Fury. Idk that it'd impossible Joshua could win, but I'd see it as a 80/20, 70/30 Fury fight.
Joshua is finished. What we saw against Ruiz was shocking. The man had not recovered his senses after three rounds. This is not just a weakness that can be mitigated. It is catastrophic. At the elite level of heavyweight boxing it is a death sentence. But what about Klitschko people say? He could get knocked down and stopped! He came back! But Klitschko's manner of reacting to multiple blows to the head was a lot different to Joshua's. Joshua goes dumb and defenseless like Bruno went dumb and defenseless. Klitschko's was not brain dead for three rounds. Against Sam Peter he got dropped three times, I think. Had Joshua been dropped three times he would have relapsed into the zombie state we saw against Ruiz.
Fury deserves an easy fight after fighting the most dangerous man in the division despite a long lay off and having to lose a **** load of weight. Wilder has made a career out of fighting bums
No lineal champion ever deserves an easy fight. Its fans like you that are a scourge on boxing. Fans as a body, regardless of who they support, need to unite and scream out their disgust at these types of fights. I too am a huge Fury fan and see him as the best on the planet. But this delaying of the fights we want to see is doing enormous damage to boxing. Rather than letting a fight 'marinade' and making it more 'profitable' fighters should give the fans the fights they wants to see, boxing will become great again and the money will be astronomical for all fighters.
I remember Fury, during Joshua v. Parker, saying, 'Look at these two. A bonch of boms.' referring to the negative style they were adopting. Just make sure you come to fight Fury!
The only chance Parker has is if AJ tears his acl or something like what happened that gave Charles Martin a title. If AJ doesn't suffer some freak injury, then, well at least Parker tried.
Joshua is going to quit on his stool in abject humiliation. The man just does not know what kind of terrible Armageddon is waiting for him in Cardiff. March 31 will see the emergence of a fighter whose heart convulses with more monstrous blood than even his great predecessor, Evander Holyfield.
Joe Hipp and Tex Cobb and Marvis Frazier take out kiwi weak Joey Parker and phewie sad Hughie Fury.
You're dreaming bro. Parker gonna shut all your mouths up with this fight.
Carried him? Bul****! How many times was Floyd bent over with his gloves cradled over his head during that fight? Six times? McGregor could've f***** him in the ass.
How the hell is a White American talking about a Filippino beating White Australian bigoted?
You're way dumber than Teddy Atlas
Hell, by every measurable metric, Pacquiao won the fight. That's not "Americans being gullible".
Bigoted: "utterly intolerant of any creed, belief, or opinion that differs from one's own." . . . Tell me where in my post I mentioned anything about race? Except for people from the US being gullible, Americans whom by definition are part of a multiracial country? I said that Atlas was bigoted I.e. utterly intolerant of any opinion that did not conform to his own. . . You ignoramus! Putting words in my mouth. . . Another example of the mendacious atmosphere rife in the USA, and which you seem bent on perpetuating.
By every measurable metric you mean compubox? Come on, surely you dont give a slither of credence to that "scientific way of calculating punches"? Or the "bigoted" garrulity espoused by Atlas? Or by the judges scores? Or by WBO investigation? Tell me, I'm keen to know?
Parker will torment Joshua every second of every round, until finally Joshua, unable to communicate to himself the calamity of his situation, sighing in resignation, despondent, powerless, will eventually cave, and Parker will rise as new lord of the division.
It seems people from the United States allow themselves to be swayed very easily. They seem gullible. Look at who they elected their president. Atlas was just unable to see his pride; after he made the 'no chance' statement, it was then impossible for Horn to win. His pride consumed him, deceived him, made a castle in his head, fortifying him against all opposing opinion. People of the US need to think for themselves and not be swayed by bigots like Atlas.
I love how all of you are talking about Ruiz's lack of power and slapping punches.
It was Ruiz's SPEED and counterpunching ability that Joshua couldn't deal with. Joshua simply CANNOT fight on the inside with Ruiz.
And I don't see him jabbing and throwing the occaisional right hand while moving to his right for 12 rounds.
Joshua is going to have to exchange at some point, and he'll get countered, and stopped again.
I don't see him becoming a defensive wizard over the next 4 or 5 months. He's there to be hit. And Ruiz will hit him again. And win again.
So true. That's it for Joshua.
This is one of the stupidest posts ever! For one Einstein, you must not have ANY idea of the evil that has been done to us and the world by both Bush's, Clinton, and Obama! The neocons have led us into countless wars around the world, took our freedoms, and raped and pillaged our country and others. The establishment democrats that are bill Clinton and odevil did the same, and continued many of the same policies of the neocons. And Hillary is pure establishment and as corrupt as any of them.
I don't trust Trump, but for any American who has even a little understanding of geopolitics, he was the ONLY choice.
And for all you Trump haters, did you ever ask yourself why ALL of the same news networks that told Americans that it was ok to invade iraq and start all the other establishment/corporate driven wars around the world hate trump and attack him constantly??
Maybe because Trump is bucking, at least part of their system??????? Ya think????? Dumb a s s e s!!
The same CNN and MSNBC that never said one word about the FKing bombing of Tripoli over the last few years, are the ones crying about a offensive Trump tweet. Mainstream media in america is a FKing joke!
Liberals, feminists, neocons, and BLM F-tards, where was your outcry when odevil was bombing the FK out of Libya??
Where were you a s s holes when odevil was ordering drone strikes on citizens in Pakistan on a weekly basis????
You dumb a s s e s are triggered now, JUST because the mainstream media has activated you!
I don't who is more ludicrous? You, or Trump? When Trump was elected president you mustn't have heard the peels of laughter that rung out across the world, and can be still heard today.
Anyone with even a shred of boxing knowledge knows that CompuBox is the most ludicrous, tendentious, backwater, medieval way of accumulating statistical evidence. To even mention it on your "reputable" boxing website is to besmirch it. How can a boxing website expect to anyone to take it seriously when it allows such filth to be discussed? Headlines like the above serve only to perpetuate a great and pernicious fallacy. This sport is crying out for objectivity, clarity, transparency-TRUTH!. It is immoral and reprehensible to use the word "CompuBox"
Seems as though Parker has maintained his conditioning between fights. Hopefully that is the case, because you simply cannot balloon out in weight as he did to 120kgs, 13 above fighting weight, and not have it affect your performance; as we saw in the Joshua fight where, while Joshua grew stronger, Parker faded.
Parker has the biggest heart in the division. Bigger even than the great Holyfield's. The smaller man will just keep coming back and back until about round 6 the world will begin to see the decimation of Joshua's soul. Round 6 the world's eyes will at last be opened to the kind of beast that Parker is; and none of those eyes will be wider than the dejected man standing tremulous before him.
Tell me how boxing business works? Tell me about the greedy promoters? Tell me all about the money-hungry networks? Tell me about the streaming services? The convoluted contracts? Tell me about A side and B sides and what exactly separates the A from the B? Tell me about the value of a fighter's legacy? Tell me about how a fight has to marinate these days? But most of all tell me about fans like you that put up with that ****? That deny a piece of logic that can't be denied; that the only way to truly decide the share of a purse is to defer to the bookmakers who cannot but for their own economic security be fair. That is the only way to eliminate all this bul**** about the number of fans a fighter has, or any other bul**** that gets spun. It keeps it strictly to the value of a fighter's ability and his perceived chances of winning. As fans we must stand up and defend it.
If only Matchroom had picked Pricey over Molina before the Wlad fight, AJ's chin would have been shattered long before this and we would have gotten the Klitschko/Price mega fight the world always deserved
Hahahahaha
Too right. The guy that fought Ruiz wasn't the guy that fought Whyte, Wlad and Povetkin. He just wasn't.
AJ by vicious knockout. He's gonna be angry and pissed off this time. Bad news for Ruiz.
Bro, come on. Joshua got a blow to the head and couldn't recover after three rounds - that's three rounds! To live in that kind of limbo is catastrophic to the psyche of any heavyweight. To have that self-knowledge is irreconcilable. Joshua is finished. Ruiz caved his head in. What a lot of people had suspected for a long time was proven true. Once Joshua gets dazed his mental faculties dwindle to a mortal and dangerous level. His thought processes become dimmed, slowed and confused. Ruiz could possibly kill him in the rematch.
Mayweather has done unforgivable amounts of damage to our sport. But no one can on earth can blame him for taking this fight. Especially not De La Hoya. Not even the Saint of all Saints would turn down hundreds of millions dollars for such a pathetically easy fight. At some point in time a great MMA fighter was always going to step into a boxing ring and fight a great Boxer. Let it be now. Let the gullible masses waste their money. Accept the collateral damage such a fight does to the sport, and let the sport move on once and for all.
Credit to AJ for taking the rematch immediately. Hope he learns what he needs to by Dec. or else he is getting KTFO again.
Bro, you can't learn to emancipate yourself from three rounds of utter confusion. You can't train to liberate yourself from the limbo you don't even know that you're in. Joshua's powers of recovery are terrible. No heavyweight can sustain a career with that kind of mortal deficiency. Joshua is over. The rematch is good insofar as it will be the final burial of an over-hyped myth.
you punch Ali, Holyfield, Foreman, Fury, and countless other heavyweights with the same punch Ruiz connected on Joshua and they would have recovered. It wasn't a punch from the gods. It was God removing the fig leaf covering Adam's shame.
