He was brave for getting up from those knockdowns knowing he was going to get KTFO. He could have stayed down in the 5th and saved himself what the people paid to see. Sure, he could have done that. But the backlash would be insane. Even though he had his jaw broken on the last KD, he wasn't unconscious. If he really wanted to, he could have continued. He wouldn't be the first fighter to continue fighting with a broken jaw. That being said, nobody is going to badmouth him for not continuing, either. A broken jaw is a pretty serious injury.

AJ was the only available option that could draw money on short notice.

I just got off work, so I only started watching 4 rounds in. And all I can say is JP was running for dear life, as I expected. Well done Budman! He's retiring on a big win. And apparently he's pretty well off financially with his property investments. And he seems to have all of his faculties about him. It's really not 6-7 weeks. It takes time to get sparring partners together and setup other logistics, unless you expect him to just come for a check and get knocked out.. That's what I would do in his boat. Go for broke in the first four rds. Worst case scenario, he takes a loss and $5 million to the bank.

Deontay around 225lbs is about right. He's extremely fast for a man his size, and that's where a lot of the power comes from. I think that's why beats Joshua rather easily. While Joshua is very powerful himself, he's not nearly as fast, or eager to engage. If he were to wait on Wilder, he'd get his ass handed to him. He's a skilled boxer, but I don't see him doing what Fury did to Wilder. And even Fury was 1 second away from getting ko'd. Joshua has no chance, and his team knows it as well. Which is why they're jamming up negotiations. They gotta make sure they get past Andy Ruiz. LOL.

That's not the point, the point is Ruiz does NOTHING to increase his career earning rate, it does nothing for his legacy. I just don't see him timing a picture perfect counter as Deontay marches in. For Joshua to win, he's going to have to move like crazy. Just like Fury did. And he is simply not that kind of fighter. If Deontay can back him up early, he's going to get touched. And I really don't think he wants to EXCHANGE with Wilder. If he can box effectively for 12 rds off his back foot, he might be able to pull it off. But we've never seen that from Joshua before, now have we?
