Sanchez needs to fight Kabayel now
I have mentioned before that from the start of his fight with Kabayel he didnt seem right.
He made a statement Saturday night and he should capitalize on it. (B level but still wanted to win)
What are the "big" fights to be made in the HW division
Usyk vs anyone - we are at the point everyone wants to see him dethroned. That just the nature of shitty humans.
BUT he doesn't need to fight anyone. He probably will have a rematch with Rico. I mean its even a BIGGER fight now than then.
Kabayel doesn't look to be looking to take out everyone. Playing the waiting game looking for less work more pay.
Moses is young and knows he can bide time. Not quite the same thing but close.
Dubois will probably rematch Wardley and he should stay away from Usyk. Stick to plodders.
Fury and Joshua are F! up by not signing a contract to fight each NOW. Even at this moment thats a huge fight in the UK.
They will both be tired up fighting weaker op until each other.
Then we have the outliers.
Gassiev, Okolie, Hegovic and maybe 1 or 2 more upcoming.
Moses Seasoned enough, should be chasing all these guys down.
Youth being a big advantage.
So Sanchez should be hounding Kabayel.
Dont know IF he would be him the 2nd time around But if Sanchez from last Saturday night shows up. I think its definitely not one sided.
Well we can not say he is to small as Usyk is 1 inch taller at 6'3".
This can be Torres coming out moment as Sanchez is the first real contender that Torrez will have faced.
It just may be that Sanchez is at an end due to physical concisions.
He did not look like himself in the Kabayel fight from the start. The lack of activity with only 1 easy fight since doesn't give us a real indication.
Look forward to the event.
Actually the winner should fight Moses next to determine king in the UK.
Then fight Kabayel for Euro
Then who ever is the USA top dog for World
Essentially replacing Uzyk who will have retired by this time
I don't see this fight with the same eyes.
I saw someone who is a great fight someone who is good but has major advantages. Size and reach. (8" on both!)
The shorter man was out jabbing the taller man.
Nakatani main goal was not to get KO'd. He fought defensive all but 2 rounds. Never did he act like he came "to take" the prize. And as the challenger., especially in this case, you had best come to take it.
I have posted this before but Rodrguez'es camp never brought up Nakatani,
which is a much easier fight to make over Inoue (115,118,122 champions respectively) because they wanted nothing to do with Nakatani's advantages. (+1 inch against Bam)
Nakatani is good but he has made a career with size advantage. If he moves up to 126 it will be the first time really fighting people his own size.
I do not want to see a rematch as I don't think it is called for.
Will be same outcome.
This is a really interesting fight.
Wardley as learned to but he isn't the most defensive proficient boxer. AND we know Dubois can punch.
Honestly
I dont understand why Huni hasnt been hounding for a rematch with Wardley. That was a 1 sided fight until the end. Huni took that fight as a stand in last minute. Guess that is a more of Wardley team going NO WAY we got damn lucky the first time.
Who ever wins should face Moses next to determine the man in the UK.
Then move on to Kabayel for top Euro then smash whomever the top US guy is at that time for world.
That is the route to replace Usyk.
Not beating him, replacing him. Moses is the only one who might have tools (including age advantage) to beat usyk but not at this moment. And I dont see that moment happening anyway. Usyk doesnt need it.
ONLY IF he fought and beat Opetaia to become undisputed at CW.
OR if he moved to HW and took out 2 of the top. Moses and Kabayel. All of which he would need to do in a short period of time. As Uzykis at end of his career.
2 fights I think and 1 is coming up.
So looking at this - its all smoke and mirrors.
The image of the two at the beginning of the fight sums up the size difference.
Nakatani has made his career using a size advantage. A HUGE one at 118. Why Rodriguez NEVER talked about him. Always Inoue. (as they are the same size).
Styles make fights and Nakatani did not "bring the fight".
He wanted to pot shot and hope to catch Inoue. No reason for a rematch. He will not "come for the title" just like this time. Maybe IF he moved up and got a title at 126. Maybe coax Inoue to 126 for that. wouldn't mind Nakatani fighting Carrington. That would be a good litmus test for him at 126. (size and style)
Wouldn't mind if Nakatani dropped back down to 118 to fight Rodriguez who has now moved up to 118.
Chase that instead of Inoue. Question is can he? WAY harder going down than up.
As far as Inoue @ 126.
He cant even reach Espinoza's head! 8" height and an 8 inch reach disadvantage. The reach would actually be more than that in reality Espinoza can literally back pedal and jab all night to win. Leo is only 1 his size. But Figueroa has a tie in due to the 2 loses to Fulton who got KO'd by Inoue. So that's a possible. IF Figs people would do it.
Since Inoue isn't a juicer I give him 2-3 more years before he calls it.
Its the. 6,7,8's. 26-28 prime of life. 36-38 is the first time ageing gets to you. Like whats going one. 46-48 your like "this shit sucks" Him be 33 ... you cant escape age.
Zuffa has begun landing champions and elite contenders including cruiserweight Jai Opetaia, junior welterweight Richardson Hitchins, super middleweight Edgar Berlanga and welterweight Conor Benn
1 who is elite but not really because he went to Zuffa. That's Opetaia.
Another is good (Richardson) then 2 chumps.
This shit if funny as hell!
This reminds me of when Al Haymon came in and shit on everything.
Seems to me the same thing but WAY more of it.
I cant read all these comments but at a scan I realize that most DONT realize it is a SCAM by Dana White.
It has nothing to do with making it better for the actual boxers.
Dana CAN NOT do what he wants with boxing due to the Ali Act so he has been on Trumps nut sack to get it changed.
The 1 thing to know. The Ali act separates, Promoter From Trainer From Manager. This MUST remain. But that is exactly what White wants gone. So he can dictate what HE wants.
1 Company with contractual slaves doing his bidding or not working at all.
Now to make it worse. If White can do this why not others?
White and Al-Sheikh do not control boxing. They are outliers wanting to be the top. So if we have the Top 2 promoters, Top Rank and Matchroom and THEY combine and THEN absorb the WBC , WBA, and IBF (Since the promote most of those champions already) into a single Organization - They control BOXING for the WORLD! (USA, Mexico, UK, Europe, China, and Japan right off the bat!)
We cant duck when the shit hits the fan because we are all already drowning in it.
Would be a step up from Jermaine. Love how the hype train Big Him up.
Still not top class but how many of those fights do we really get anymore.
Ideally they should be trying to Big Up a fight between him and Wardley.
Start the train at least. Moses fights Hrgovic, Okolie or even Gassiev (smaller but better than other 2) next for Moses and IF he wins and Wardley gets past Dubois (which we all think he will) then make the fight happen. beside the circus show of Fury Vs Joshua. Moses Vs Wardley would probably be the next biggest fight in the UK.
That winner could then hunt a possible Usyk fight (would be reason for it) or hunt Kabayel.
Or the other outliers like Torez / Huni.
Probably WONT happen because they can ring out more $ but babbling.
Yeah
This is a safe padding the numbers fight that has a slight ting of well maybe it wont be 1 sided...
Ituama wanted more rounds then fight every other month. 3 at most.
I iterate my previous posts point.
Currently, the Ali Act mandates a separation between promoters and sanctioning bodies.
The Revitalization Act would allow UBOs to perform all the functions currently held by established sanctioning bodies, including rankings, championships, and regulations,
in addition to a minimum payout of $200 per round.
I will say it. F! DW nut hugging DT to get this shit passed.
It is NOT a step forward. Putting some wording in a bill to pretty it up but really covering the truth is what it is.
Monopolization is ALWAYS a bad thing.
The world is shit due to it. Boxing will become even more shitty due to this.
It could actually backfire on Zuffa.
Imagine this scenario - Top Rank and Matchroom combine and takes in the WBC and WBA right off the bat.
So North America ,UK, Japan, and China markets locked in. Add in some "subsidiaries" be it promotion groups or organizations for outlying countries and you have an instant global cabal.
Sounds like Azim really isn't interested in fighting Smith.
Its not like Smith is that much more "advanced' in terms of bouts. (+5 fights)
This article seems like a paid blurb to get a little bit of notoriety by name dropping.
The Puello fight will be a good litmus test for Smith.
To see how he handles a boxer who can handle the pressure.
So Opetaia got $45K for the fight. And Glanton got paid $6K
For a "championship" fight in a packed arena.
Why the hell did he go to Zuffa?
Why would anyone ? Fame? Well modern boxing isnt about greatness. Its about yelling the loudest and talking he most shit. That gets you fame and money faster than any other way.
I believe 1 reason why Zuffa wants their fighters to only fight for their Zuffa belt(s) is because they wont have to disclose earnings to other organizations.
I would expect that it will be more than the normal 20-25% promoters take. Its like cooperate america nickle and diming you with fees. But instead of it being spread around it will remain within 1 house.
Zuffas has not taken any action to make boxing better for the boxer.
Nor do I see that they really want to. They just want to cash in. We all have read the stories of Turki Al-Sheikh acting like he owns slaves. That is probably the way he feels. Infidels should do as told and be thankful for what "we' give them...
Yes boxing has needed a reform. Majorly. BUT that will not happen due to greed and lust.
You can force change by NOT buying all these stupid PPVs. 4/5 of them are jokes.
Whats funny is ProBox TV is so much better than Zuffa.
Yes it is slightly older but the funding difference is enormous.
I thought it was a great fight. Gallegos never stopped trying while being dominated.
The head but cut was bad. A real surprise it went as far as it did. But Lopez's blood spurred Gallegos on.
I believe Lopez is ready for some lime light.
Well when you whore yourself out you gotta do things you dont normally want to do.
Been saying for years the boxing isnt a real sport. That its just like the WWE. A bunch of clowns with smoke and mirrors. Chasing nothing but ticket sells via marketing.
Over the last decade that has gotten SO MUCH worse!
We can assume jai is locked into a contract with stipulations that look like old record label deals.
You sold yourself to the devil and he is going to flog every penny out of you.
IF his contract is solid. DW will not allow him to go for the belts as it would open a door to get out of said contract.
Also since the IBF are taking a stand (of course they would since they are probably the most solid org in the business) They probably wouldnt allow Zuffa to be co promoted along with it. I feel the other majors will follow suite as it is in their best interest.
Just more BS thrown on top of a cluttered cake.
DQ does not want to "fix" boxing. He just wants to rape it.
It is simple people DONT PAY FOR THIS SHIT!
Like most PPV - stop doing it.
That is the ONLY way things get fixed.
It was the body shots that did it.
Shields could hear them over the crowd.
I had it a draw by the 6th.
But I knew Marquez was going to KO Diaz and was confirmed when Shields asked Diaz to box. The again later asked him to use more faints with his jab.
The only thing he had going for himself was the pressure.
95 or more of Diaz's punches were being blocked by Marquez.
All those punch's when Marquez was on the ropes were wasted. Diaz knew it. The Marquez would land a power punch and Diaz would back of to restart.
Great fight.
Not FOTY though. Least not yet.
