Perhaps Floyd isn't ready to fight Cotto just yet, he wants him to become a bigger name to generate more money. Therefore does anyone reckon Floyd might have taken this fight to keep Oscar busy himself, because he doesn't want to risk DLH beating Cotto and ruining the buildup to a PBF-Cotto undefeated-style megashow.

Just heard on the radio from the Witter camp that this fight is very close to being finalised. It seems Witter and Hatton aren't close to fighting anytime soon because they can't agree over the money. So instead they're turning their attentions to Demetrius Hopkins who is apparently very keen on the fight. It seems like a good move for both fighters, its a big East Coast bout and the money's gonna be good for Witter who will appreciate the US tv exposure. I haven't seen Bernard's nephew fight too much but he seems to have a decent record. Not too sure how Witter's fight game will hold up under American judges & refs, but it would be an intersting challenge. What do you guys think of the potential match-up? Discuss

It's kinda like road rage.....I'm at my computer getting involved in a few discussions, then someone words a reply in a manner i find a little too patronising/rude/insulting/ignorant or plain wrong, and all of a sudden the red mist clouds my judgement, i lose control of my fingers and begin to let fly on some pretty aggressive replies. I'll usually divert my attention elsewhere for a while after this and when i come back i'll have mellowed a bit and try to be more accomodating....but for those few seconds i go incredible hulk on my kerboard. Internet rage eh......who would've thought it likely?

I'm guessing it's no coincidence that you can watch virtually any Mayweather fight on youtube but virtually none of Frank warren's fighters (Calzaghe, Haye, Maccarenelli, pre-Collazo Hatton). I guess it's their perogative to limit the availability of their fights but surely when it comes to building up a fanbase and interest in a fighters career youtube is your friend. For instance I really wanted to watch Calzaghe-Kessler again but couldn't find it on youtube at all. In the end I had to download it, but a lot of people simply wont bother.

If anyone who knows alot about this in detail could help me out with it would be very helpful. Say a fighter gets paid 1 mil for a fight, how much of this cash is he likely to end up keeping. Since tax is like 30-40% and the manager gets 10% (not sure about that), then the trainer, cutman and the rest of a fighters team all need to be looked after, how much money is a fighter likely to actually out of a 1 mil paycheck for instance. Cos in theory it seems like they wouldn't get that much.

Love him or hate him, you can't have failed to notice him and his hype. For a guy who runs his mouth endlessly, who's sickeningly cocky, outspoken, flashy and boastful, and who's whole career is centered around these charecteristics and his ability to back them up in the ring. If his 0 finally goes, what in the lord's name is he gonna do and say next. As hard as I try I just can't imagine his post-loss interview with Merchant, (will he even agree to talk to him), or anymore 24/7 style rants about the sport. I almost fear for his mental health cos it's gonna be depressing if he has to go home loser. It's not even gonna be most depressing on the day of the loss, it's gonna be depressing when people start to rinse him publicly and questionably undefeated fighters start shouting Floyd who? Right now he ain't even close to being the most popular fighter, but he don't give a damn cos he's got his aura of invincibility to fall back on. What's gonna happen when it's gone cos Floyd doesn't seem to be even remotely mentally prepared for dealing with a loss.
