Javi -
I am a licensed boxing promoter and very familiar with the WBC's rules. I promote all sorts of events and have worked behind the scenes in wrestling, MMA and boxing for 17 years. I don't promote boxing because the cost of entry is ridiculous and the vast majority of promoters lose money. It's a fool's errand and it was a dying business until Al Haymon came along.
You're unable to counter any of my arguments, so you resort to petty name calling. Which typically indicates that there are deficiencies in your life that you are compensating for. Perhaps you're unhappy at work or school, with you're family, or in your love life. If it makes you feel better about yourself to name call like a child would, be my guest. I am here to discuss the business of boxing. If you don't have anything of substance to say, perhaps you should remain quiet while adults are speaking.
Dude, can you please go and promote something. OMG!
are you reading? he said it's about principle. if canelo was paying 300k, why would the WBC accept less from cotto when cotto's purse is actually bigger than canelo's?
Principle my ass. First, as a fan I don't give a **** about sanctioning bodies, they're a joke.
Second, everybody knows that the WBC are a bunch of crooks. Wake the **** up!
Quite often, ego, pride and principle are far more powerful than money. The WBC caps their fee at 300k (WBO is 200k). As a matter of principle, the WBC couldn't accept 125k from Cotto without also lowering Canelo's fee to 125k as well. Which would make no sense since 300k from Canelo would be more than 125k from each of them.
If it was just about money, they would have taken Canelo's 300k and Cotto's 125k. They're going to be stripping the winner either way. They had to sacrifice 125k in this instance to maintain their credibility in the future. Common sense.
I'm promoting a wrestling card tomorrow night. I don't promote boxing cards. The sanctioning bodies have too much control and promoting boxing is a fool's errand, although I have worked for other promoters.
Ego, pride and principle are more powerful than money until they reach the right amount.
If you don't care about sanctioning bodies, nobody is forcing you to read or post about them.
You are the one that questioned my literacy when clearly you are the one struggling in that department.
You accuse the WBC of being a criminal organization, but they aren't breaking any laws. They're following their rules, which clearly state they can make up the rules as they go along. Nobody is forced to do business with the WBC.
What is it that I need to wake up about? I'm a licensed boxing promoter and very aware of how the WBC operates. What is it that you think you're telling me that I'm not aware of?
Dude, principle doesn't exist in boxing. You know that. Which was the last fight you promoted?
**** the economic reasons. As a fan I don't make any money here so I DON'T care about that. I want to see the BEST man beat the living crap out of the other one!
Again, WHO THE HELL ARE YOU Burns?? That fight is not happening, Marquez has about 3 or 4 more fights. WHY would he fight Burns? Anybody? Please, look at his resume!!
