Kovalev looked much better last night. Many people forget he should have gotten the decision in the first fight with Ward because of the knockdown and he won the majority of Rounds. He would have never had to do the rematch with Ward if he got the right scoring in the first fight
I would hate to see this as Loeffler did more for GGG than any other promoter could have. He took him from unknown fighter from KZ and became one of the biggest ticket sellers on both coasts and got highest ratings on HBO. Not his fault the judges in Vegas scores badly in both fights and even now GGG is more popular than ever. Hope this news isn’t true
Wait, is he suspended or not? Missing 4 tests not a good sign, wouldn’t they inform the testing agency he’s out of the country? Jacobs trained in that camp for the GGG fight and looked much bigger, especially when he couldn’t make the IBF second day weight. Not sure if there is any correlation, but doesn’t look good with all the Canelo positive testing news that is out now
Ward knows about bad decisions in Vegas with the first Kovalev where he got dropped and was given a gift, just like the 2 fights with GGG and Canelo where Canelo was given a gift both times
Ward upset that he never had the popularity of GGG or got the big payday that GGG got in the last 2 fights.
Those Beef tacos must have helped him absorb the power and move likes he’s never fought before.
If GGG didn’t have power, then Canelo would have fought like he normally does. He did everything possible to avoid GGG power, which is ok to survive, but you can’t take the titles from the champion that way, unless you have Adalaide Byrd scoring the fight
Would be smart for Chocolatito to train with Abel Sanchez. He saw GGG training routine when he was one time in Big Bear and knows there is no coincidence why GGG has so much strength and power in his hands and the Best chin boxing. Would be great to see Chocolatito win another world title
If GGG willing to test all the way through, he shouldn’t accept the fight with Canelo until he does too. This looks fishy only testing when the contracts are signed when they are trying to prove he didn’t cheat. His body completely changed when he fought Chavez at 164.5 and then GGG at 160
Not much happened for this guy over a 10 year professional career, nobody really know who he is outside of hard core boxing fans and doesn’t sell tickets
Can’t wait for this matchup with Rungvisai and Estrada, the show looks great with Cuadras and Viloria in solid fights also. Props for another great Superfly show, the small guys willing to fight each other!
Fury will probably make more for his next fight on ESPN than Wilder in his next fight. Good for him, rematch will be bigger and more even playing field
This is a great fight between two reigning champions, really looking forward to this one. I think Braekhus is the best female champion out there, but McCaskill younger and hungrier, so should be a great matchup. I’m a big fan of Braekhus since I saw her fighting over here on HBO. She carries herself very well as a champion and international ambassador for boxing!
Charlo going after those GGG and BJS leftovers, terrible matchup to kick off Fox show.
At least when GGG fought Monroe, he just won that ESPN tournament. Water is safe now for Charlo after GGG KOd Monroe and BJS dominated him as well. Funny how haters complained about GGG fighting Monroe but now making excuses for Charlo to justify to fight him
If it was on DAZN it would get multiple times more viewers in Germany alone than are ever going to watch it on Showtime.
The Hanmer/Shields fight is on DAZN in Germany and Showtime in the US as well as many other international territories, this fight getting more publicity than that Crolla fight
yeah that makes a lot of sense!
karma getting wilder cause he dismissed whyte to chase Joshua! so its karma that Joshua ducked him! karma that wilder didn't care about the whyte fight but pursued a much bigger and tougher fight!
I guess these brits have a different version of what "karma" means over there
hmmmm pursue fight with some guy that just fought lucas browne? or pursue a mega fight with Joshua? tough choice! but hahah karma got that fool wilder because he exposed a ducker in the "world champ"!!!
friggn weirdos
Problem with this statement is that Wilder didn’t duck Whyte to fight Joshua, he ducked him and is now going to fight Breazeale! That’s not a great fight, but much safer. That’s the way these heavies play it, safe fights and keep talking about the dangerous fights. Whyte seems like he’s willing to fight anyone, got to give him credit
GGG mich bigger than the IBF title, they stripped a great champion. This all comes from Canelo testing positive, otherwise GGG could have fought May 5 against Canelo and then his mandatories. Now there is absolutely no reason to fight this completely unknown fighter with only 12 fights and fought an 8 round fight in his last fight, what a shame the IBF was able to have this effect on GGG career. First they make him fight Wade then this guy with only 12 fights, what’s going on with these unqualified IBF mandatories?
Mayweather running makes him the best while Canelo running makes him a *****. well done
Because Floyd never said he would fight Mexican Style, like Canelo promised his fans before the fight, then moved like crazy to avoid getting KOd. Wouldn’t be a problem with Canelo moving and throwing less punches, if the judges would have scored for GGG as the one pressing the action and landing more punches than Canelo
This fight is not happening anytime soon. Both sides like to talk about fighting, but don’t want that risk of getting KOd.
At least the GGG v Canelo fight is happening this year, that’s a fight to look forward to. These heavyweights will keep talking and Eddie and Shirley Winkle won’t be able to come to an agreement
First was the Murat Gassiev loss, second was the Golovkin loss, third was the loss of a hot prospect who was unbeaten, that is three consecutive. that is between July 21 to September 15 a time frame of two month and all those fighters ware unbeaten when they lost. Now if he lost another unbeaten in Ryan Martin and I believe he going to lost to Josh Taylor, that is going to be a fourth consecutive lost with a time frame of 3 1/2 month and four consecutive fighters with unbeaten records. I don't advise fighters to get trained with Abel Sanchez. All those losses are in 2018. Abel Sanchez is useless as a trainer with his old school training methods.:ok:
This is one of the most useless comments I have seen. Nobody was going to beat Usyk that night and GGG won both fights against Canelo. Sanchez is one the most successful and consistent trainers out there and gets the most out of the guys he works with. Don’t be surprised if Ryan Martin beats Taylor either
Charlo should be Happy he didn’t have the judges from GGG fights with Canelo, then he would have lost a much more lopsided decision. Harrison started out fast and kept the lead, I was good with 7-5 Harrison scoring, even though Charlo came back and won the last 2 rounds
She just said that Canelo did the cycle and not the Mexican Meat. She needs to keep GGG out of her mouth because Abel doesn’t let anyone associated with PEDs anywhere near his gym. Sounds like the people she was training with might be in trouble soon too, although that was a long time ago. I’m sure there were some big names that were in the same gym she was in, meaning they all did PEDs back then, unbelievable. Good thing GGG Team insisted on early testing for that second fight, otherwise Canelo wouldn’t have gotten caught once the Clen cycled out of his system
Abel is right on this one, Jacobs is a completely different fighter now, gunshy to pull the trigger against 2 guys HBO set up for him to look good. He blew out Quillin in one round, but now very cautious against Arias and Sulecki? GGG took his heart with that knockdown and beating him over 12 rounds, he showed up with sunglasses to the post fight press conference. He cheated to gain a weight advantage by skipping the IBF weighin, but that just allowed him to get up from the knockdown and absorb more punishment over 12 rounds. He was much larger than GGG on fight night and still paid the price. His fights are boring now until he fight someone that makes him fight back like GGG did with his constant pressure
Got some good matchups on this show with up and coming guys
Akhmedov vs McDaniels looks solid, so does Ceballo vs Eyubov, all undefeated guys fighting each other
I’m excited to see Madrimov also on this show
You forgot Andre Ward moved up to 175 to avoid him lol.
You forgot GGG told HBO he would fight Ward In 2013 at 168 and Ward chose Edwin Rodriguez because it was a much easier fight, paying him $1M. Ward could never make 168 again after that “offer” , it was only a PR stunt to use GGG name when he already announced Lemieux fight and locked in for winner of Cotto/Canelo, you need to do some better research before posting casual comments
Great to see her win this award, she’s the only undisputed champion in boxing, the most dominant female boxer and the most attractive boxer!
Looking forward to see her fight again
Joshua at the point of this career that he can sell out stadiums regardless of who he fights. Wilder fought his first live opponent, still was over 40, and needed the red to save him with extra 15 sec to start the round. After almost losing to Ortiz, Wilder side desperate to get as much money as possible, but will never put him in another dangerous fight before the Joshua fight gets made. Finkle irrelevant as Al will make the decisions who Wilder fights, he just tries to convince peopl he’s invovled in making the decision. Eddie saw through that and had his father meet with Finkle, as they both aren’t decision makers
Maybe it wasnt because of GGG side, he should be asking his people where the money went. Good win on HBO in his last fight, but I doubt he ever gets a shot at GGG again under normal circumstances
