Haye was spot on about the amateur experience of Ruiz. Pedigree is what it is. Though Joshua from a good pedigree too. I said this to my friend some years ago that Joshua kinda has a chin like Khan. Sounds crazy but now is early “Khan chin” years for Joshua but down the road I see a lot of KDs and KOs on Joshua. He gets rocked almost every fight. I know everybody gets rocked but he always looks like its a chance to KD him.
I also see this as a two part fight deal. From Rigo twitter I feel he’s been keeping an eye on Donaire since the WSSB. Rigo already beat Donaire but I think Rigo feels he should be praised on the same level as Donaire so sees a rematch as a easy, big money fight. I think and again all desktop detective, Al Haymon switched Rigo for Donaire believing he will win vs Casimero then sets up another big rematch fight between the new rejuvenated Donaire vs old foe and belt holder Rigo. Then the winner fights Inoue. Again just desktop detective on this.
I like Sanchez, he deserves his shot.
That Saudi money though has changed the game. If that offer comes through to Fury i expect him to box Franklin in the meantime ;)
No lies spoken! Franklin the new toy of heavyweight division. I would love to see Miller, Sanchez, Zhang, even Bakole in the mix. Boxing the new waiting game.
You guy are casuals and we're not watching boxing by than dude is definitely a hall a famer look at thr people he fought
To even know Tim Bradley career, Bradley not being some huge star nullifies the causal chat.
I respect the Devon Alexander win, I believe that was Devon first L and he went on to beat Maidana and Lucas M(questionable AF) right after.
Sidenote Devon did lose to Ivan Redkach(later 2019), Aaron Martinez and a handful of others shortly after those two wins. The Khan lost aged ok. Devon came up short once competition went up.
I also respect the Lamont Peterson win always respected Peterson thought he was a dog.
Takes me to the interesting case of Ruslan fight. I could be on the minority side but Bradley was getting rocked that fight I legit thought Ruslan won. I remember screaming at the screen. Bradley is one of the fighters seems like he would have pop but could stop you with a traffic cop. Ruslan combos were heavy still can’t believe he got a UD.
There’s the Witten fight but he lost to everybody he stepped up too. I remember that being something but definitely didn’t age well.
JMM fight wasn’t the JMM we knew he’s wasn’t as consistent like the PAC fights.
To me that’s just doesn’t warrant HOF status.
Now Ward to me was a just a little overrated as well but I think he deserves HOF. I don’t care what nobodies say he lost first Kolavev fight.
I’m so excited for this fight.
Honestly can’t pick the winner but leaning towards Inoue.
To be transparent, I’m a huge fan of Inoue and really like Fulton a lot. Both fighters have great skills and ring IQ to match the attributes but Inoue has that explosive power in both hands.
If his power carries I can see Inoue winning but Fulton has great ring generalship and banks rounds. Fulton knows how to pace a fight and get the decision.
Going to prepare a nice garlic soy marinade of wings and some steaks for the green egg. Going to be an amazing breakfast lol.
I agree with 90% of what Haney said. Operated well, got caught, recovered(debate-able) without touching canvas, and got the win.
Our “highlight mentality” rates some things before others like getting wobbled sometimes is worst than getting dropped. Or a person getting crossed over in basketball but people forget if the person actual made the shot/dunk etc. I think he deserve a little credit for not dropping but very little. That holding was horrible which leads me to the lie.
Way too many damn camera angles and technology for Devin to make the statement he was not hurt.
STEVIE WONDER could see Haney was hurt. Personally Haney’s recovery was alarming but I suspect fatigue played a part. People chat like this is his first time getting stung I assume this has happen before in sparring but seems like once he’s buzzed good, he’s done. Who knows again could be fatigue, I’m curious to see him in with a bigger, younger puncher.
Very broad comparison: BJS is southpaw version of Caleb with more knockouts.
Respectfully to each ones style.
Jose said he didn’t feel any pop from Caleb.
I was a bit turned off when Caleb decided to sit out until the Canelo fight. Something about that idea (same with BJS) seems like they are already defeated before the fight. Like they are already adapting there energy and fight to Canelo vs working on your own strengths and weaknesses.
I have a feeling Caleb with take the Callum Smith approach and play it safe. Similar to the last rounds of the Jose fight.
As weird as it may sound have both fights in NYC. Boxing championship history + mega venue + melting pot of cultures + easy to fly to location. NYC has to be a dark horse.
I don’t think his power underestimated, Fulton doesnt sit down on his punches. He sticks and moves. 21 wins only 8 KO tells the story.
Strangely his advantages with size maybe a non factor due to his lack of punching prowess.
I need to rewatch or better yet find AV’s victories. I don’t see it but hey somebody has to have faith. I’ve seen crazier things happen also there’s so many belts.
Bigger question: Who gets belt first AV or a Logan Brother???
This is a prime example of art vs business. Companies rarely care about the outcome of sports just the money generated. These boxing matches are a collaboration of many business working together almost like a theatrical play. There is human value for PBC, Golden boy Dazn etc to build stars but it takes business sponsors and business people cross marketing who really have a limited boxing interest to move the needle financially.
We the fans want the fight but the economics doesn’t generate as much as the fan value warrants. Without a union or a league like UFC mega fights will continue to “marinate” as we learned many times.
So are we saying Ortiz doesn't deserve this fight? Based on what? Martin tucking tail and running from Shakur and getting a gift against some German nobody had ever ****ing heard of?
It's fine though. Frank will turn this one down too, and everyone will just make "money" or "promotion" excuses for him while he sits on his hands inactive like the rest of PBC,
Neither has belt so the fight makes sense but it’s just funny to me that now fighters talk more after a lost then a win.
Davis by attempted BOYslaugter. 7 round. Book it. Boys chin too upward that form didn’t bode well for Leo. Campbell doesn’t have an inside game let alone uppercut like the elites do.
Conlan solid fighter but that’s a bridge to far to cross with winner of FIG vs Fulton. At best Conlan’s a B C+ fighter, definitely can get a belt with the amount available but not hanging the elites or top 10 at that.
You(Taylor) get absolutely undressed then have the balls to then comment on another boxer(Catterall) who won easy. These are the last days, mark my words. The world is upside down
Tim. EFF YOU
remember all those times your fat daddy wanted to tell Joel Diaz how to train you and how to take training camp smh ♂️ not to mention Joel Diaz made you and you left him and other people who made you for your fat arse Guatemalan wife lmao I guess you haven’t seen they’re gold diggers lol you’re embarrassing. Not to mention the times your mongoloid brother in law covered for you try to play star smfh
Welp that was harsh
Nobody is getting knocked out in this fight. It’ll be great, but the reason it’ll be great is because both fighters are great. Great fighters don’t often suffer KOs at their peaks. Although I’d say Spence is on the back nine of his career and not at his peak. I still say Spence by MD or SD
Crawford is older than Spence by a few years.
How Spence on the downside of career?
Porter deserves a shot at all the big names. He's a great representative for the entire sport. He's a good fighter and a gentleman. That is rare for African American boxers. Please do not give me the race card B.S. America loves the ghettho personality, B.S. talking, grill wearing, "keepn't reel" mentality. Porter is definitely not that type of boxer and therefore does not get the credit he deserves.
African American fighters that are good and a gentlemen rare?? Countless african american boxers the list is endless. After reading the total post, I think you mean stereotypes generally are more attractive to tv
I have worked with DJ and he’s an extremely nice guy and super personable. From a fan perspective it took me awhile to understand the hype but after speaking to a lot of boxers he was very much rated highly as an amateur fighting virtually everyone and beating them. I state all of this to say, as a gentlemen he’s the type of boxer you would want to represent boxing and the hall of fame but if he thinks from what he’s done so far he’s HOF level he’s drinking the same stuff as Deontay Wilder in his second fight with Fury aka “the Breland Bottle”. DJ really has done nothing of note and if he’s gets in the HOF there are so many more that then would have to question why haven’t I got the call. Great guy though seriously one of the nicest dudes just not HOF level boxer to me.
I’m still amazed how the boxing community is treating Ryan Garcia like he beat somebody with a heartbeat let alone like he has this one punch KO power. Please release the tapes. Honestly feel like if Ryan fought tanks last 5 fights he would have been dropped already and maybe lost his 0. My opinion on the last bit.
I keep forgetting Joyce is 35 sheerly by the number of punches this man can take. Outside of the great George Foreman, Joyce may have the best chin I’ve seen from any 30+ fighter.
Boxing’s Luke Cage but with resistance to gloves instead of bullets, it’s kinda astonishing.
I try to be fair as possible even play devils advocate but there is no way Colbert won this fight, at best a draw but that would have had the same level of responses of robbery.
My dad always says Boxing is not about the total impact of damage but scoring based on a round by round basis then he said “Gold Streak” lost. Just can’t make sense of it and I’m not huge or watched a ton of Rayo. Colbert talented but lacks power to keep boxers at bay. You have to be exceptional to lack power at the championship level like Floyd special but even Floyd could put you on your seat. Colbert is right about staying at 130 but his career was just cut in half. He’s stuck at 130 and I don’t see him dominanting 140 either.
Inoue stops Rodriguez with in 7. I see Taylor v Beast as a pick’em; either Beast KO by 10th or a battle of attrition to a Taylor decision. Taylor seems taller but Beast is quite long especially with his looping punches. If Taylor can stay focused on the outside and minimize the time he mixes up into dogfights, could be a great 12 rounder.
I like this fight! Fury is quite the enigma at the moment with his one belt kingdom. It’s odd how he’s holding the green strap hostage and not facing Uysk but steadily claiming it’s an easy fight. My head says it’s the get paid as much as you can route but my heart believes Fury may doubt himself. I’m still 80/20 money but why not be undisputed it’s a funny case.
I think with Frank size he could upset the apple cart. Fury’s new style of mauling might not work on all comers.
Like Canelo, Fury’s put himself in a interesting place as far as next opponent. Let’s see what happens
With all the chatter from Kambosos, I was starting to think he had a chance until I watched a few fights. This fight will not go the distance, Kambosos talks more than his talent.
I hate to be one of these “old timers” but these times suck. It’s not about the truth but who is louder and has a bigger audience. Tyson Fury legit is lying about the rematch clause he wanted then tried to spin Usyk about the rematch clause. Obviously if your Usyk, to have a rematch your going to want to get it right terms wise since your getting stiffed on the front end. Fury a joke but I blame more the times but actually business wise boxing really sucks as these people risk there life for an amount I truly don’t find enough but yea Fury a bum for this. I just couldn’t see the great boxers of the past pull this but also they are mostly broke compared to boxers now.
