thats what im not getting. based on what str8left said. the test are still easily beatable. so why not just take them and beat them then beat floyd
i just dont get it either
I believe Pacman's refusal of the test is more because of ego at this point. Everybody knows Floyd likes to play mind games. Well, this is all mind games between the two camps. Unfortunately for Floyd he is not making any money by not fighting. Pacman, on the other hand, keeps on winning and is even picking up huge endorsement deals.
Pacman being on roids is a very slim possibility. He has a huge entourage, and not everybody with strong loyalty. It will be very hard to hide a secret for too long. If he is on something we would have known by now. In any case, questioning Pacman's achievements without any basis is unfair especially since he has many similarities in his career path as Floyd's. If Floyd can achieve so much without roids, why can't Pacman do the same?
If that's the argument then that is undoubtedly one of the dumbest things I've ever heard regarding this. Using this logic, no one except the top pound for pounders should be tested at all. Go petition that to the commission. :lol1:
I think the intent of the thread starter is really to just expose the arguments of the so-called boxing experts that Pacman has no skills.
My opinion.. they should take blood a test and do the weigh-in the same night of the fight! If a fighter fails the test, he will not get paid anything.
Pacman is able to cut the ring if he is 100%. With the Mosley fight he is suffering from leg cramps - probably over-trained because he ignored Ariza and Roach's order to rest before the fight. I don't think he also has the motivation to actually hurt Mosley. There was a glimpse of the real Pacman in the 10th round after the "KO" when he actually pursued Mosley and got some big hits. If the Pacman-Floyd happens I don't think Pacman will let Floyd just run away. Too much bad blood between the camps for that.
The Marquez fight is too long ago.. Pacman is still getting developed then. People have to remember that until Pac came under Roach he doesn't have any top caliber trainers to teach him (Unlike Floyd who had his dad and the US Olympic team to train with in his early years). Pacman before Roach was just raw power and determination. It took years for Roach to mold Pacman into a better fighter. We'll see how Pacman improved with the Marquez fight.
you guys are sure making excuses
That's not an excuse. That's a reason. Something that Pacman has to deal with and hopefully do not repeat in the next camp.
The issue of over training was actually brought up even before the fight since Pacman's training camp was going along without the usual distractions. If you follow Pacman's fights you know the difference. No excuses. Just a lesson learned.
if Floyd didn't view Manny as a threat, of course he wouldn't care. He does. I think you're missing the point. This argument implies that Manny is juicing but since he'll probably lose, it shouldn't matter. How dumb is that?
No, the argument is that since Pacman has "no skills", then it shouldn't matter whether Pacman is "juicing" or not.
People say that Pacman's refusal puts the suspicion on him. I think it is really more of an ego thing. He originally had this well-documented bad experience with the Morales fight. But that was when he was struggling to make weight. It is understandable - if you're dehydrated, taking a tube of blood will be devastating, especially if you can't drink fluids because you still need to get weighed. So the reaction to the first negotiation is expected. Eventually his handlers probably convinced him that it will not have the same effect since he is now fighting in a higher weight class and does not really have to dehydrate to make weight - so the later move back to the negotiating table and the agreement to Floyd's cut-off date. Unfortunately Floyd changed the demands... and now it is really just an ego thing between the two.
I think Pac's corner wont be bothered much to Floyd's punches, I think they should be concerned on cutting the ring.
I agree! Pac can take Floyd's punches. He will not hesitate... or even need to test if he can take it like what he did with Cotto. Pac can just press forward all night. Pac doesn't need to counter because Pac will initiate contact!
Here's the scenario:
1. Pac comes in with a 5-7 punch combo. In the middle of the action Floyd counters with a 1-2 punch that Pac doesn't even feel :)
2. Repeat all night (I don't want a KO .. I want to see Floyd's face like Marg).
Or maybe he thinks Pac is in fact juicing.
You missed the point.
He asked that since Floyd is saying that Pacman has no skills and can easily be defeated then whether Pac is on PEDS or not is a moot point. Unless... the "no skills" part is really just a wishful thinking and Floyd actually thinks that Pacman can defeat him.
Floyd straight right & lead uppercut are not a problem for Pacman. The thing is that Floyd is fighting now the way Pacman would like him to.Floyd doesn't use his feet like he did when he was younger. All Floyd would need to do is train himself to fight based on movement & it's a wrap.Ancient Mosley & the tiny Marquez both showed that Pacman is limited when facing angles.Floyd is the most superior boxer at the lower weights.Timing & angles(if it's Floyd giving them) are gonna thoroughly outclass Pacman.Because Floyd is better & bigger at everything than Marquez.
I'll give that Floyd is probably harder to hit. But if you watch the slo-mo's of Pac's combos, the first or second punches actually serve only to set-up the third and more coming behind. Basically he gets better hits while the other fighter is reacting from the earlier punches. Those are the ones that they dont see because they come too fast behind the previous punch. Floyd will have to adjust and anticipate the flurries in order to effectively defend. That is why it will be an exciting fight!
News to Floyd Fans: Pacman doesn't care what you guys think. You can keep on accusing him of taking PEDS. He will just keep on fighting other fighters.
Pacman is now among the highest paid athletes in the world. His endorsements are rolling in with the new agent hired for him by Bom Arum. Pacman does not need Floyd.
