Floyd's money punches when he gets in to a rythym is the straight right hand, and lead Hook. Do you think Pacquiao is fast enough to counter it?
Im sure Freddie Roach and Pac would work hard in training camp to try and counterpunch this when Floyd throws it. Floyd when he throws the lead upercut, looks open to a counter right hook. That's if his opponent is quick enough to time and land it.
Pac does throw a lot of counter right hooks, but with Floyd it's hard to figure out when it's coming.
pac has to fight floyd like he did oscar where he was offensive be very cautious of the right jab and counter. floyd is way faster than oscar though, so pac needs to use his head movement like earlier in his career and use his recently developed left hand lead.
That's not an excuse. That's a reason. Something that Pacman has to deal with and hopefully do not repeat in the next camp.
The issue of over training was actually brought up even before the fight since Pacman's training camp was going along without the usual distractions. If you follow Pacman's fights you know the difference. No excuses. Just a lesson learned.
From the early rounds it was apparent that Pac didn't have his usual quick footwork to bounce in-and-out to land punches. I recall that during training he did mostly hills and less flats running and it affected his leg conditioning. It's a lesson learned for next time.
Id agree, but the major difference is that both Morales and JMM threw combinations when they countered, and attacked aggressively.
Floyd tends to throw single shot counters. And isnt willing to take a shot to land a shot which JMM and morales do all the time. They dont mind exchanging.
I think it may be difficult for Floyd to counter Pac if Pac keeps throwing combinations.
But, if Floyd is at his best (which i believe is now past him), he would out box Pac with movement and getting his range.
yea but in the 2nd marquez fight it seemed like marquez never jabed and was still able to win atlest 6 round or more in most peoples eyes just by takin advantage of manny's mistakes which are still there
no one is underrating gayweather... but if he opens up, he will get caught. once he tastes the power, I don't think he'll want to get hit again and he'll run. all defensive-minded boxers will go into a defensive shell or get on their bike once they get hit by pac.
True. And even if he doesn't open up given the speed, insane angles, and volume of punches Pac throws Floyd will get hit like he's never been hit before. Manny will use his swift footwork to get into position and will fire all night. He will take a punch to give 3 or more, and he will not stop like Mosley did in the 2nd after he caught Floyd. Also, Floyd has always troubles with southpaws; just imagine he'll have a nightmare dealing with Pac. And I agree that he'll most likely get on his bike once he tastes Manny's punches: Pac tends to psychologically break down his opponents.
if marquez and morales can counter pacman, floyd sure can do it, but faster and with better defend

manny couldn't counter clotteys right hand so i think he will have serious problems with floyds and it seem like shanes reach advantage was a bit of a problem to for manny and floyd has longer arms than shane
you think floyd will be there toe to toe with pacman??
no, he is too scared to go toe to toe with pac. he was willing to go toe to toe with mosley, but no way will he fight that way with pac
pacman dont know how to cut the ring
why would pac pursue all out when he's fighting counterpunchers? he's trying not to get caught with something big.
floyd will fight in defensive mode going to the body 1-2 to the head then clinching fighting inside ect ect boxing school :)
if gayweather opens up, he will get hit. once he gets hit, he'll get on his bike and start racing for the 12th. belie' dat.
you guys are sure making excuses

Maybe so, but you're so biased (which is also understandable). Give Floyd his due: assuming he's still on top of his game, his counter is one of the best in the game. This is a major problem when Pac lunges in. You cannot assume Pac can always take the perfectly timed counter because it largely depends upon whether or not he sees it coming. All I have to do is refer to Hatton's experience with Floyd.
Having said that, I do believe that Pac would win the fight...on the odds. But's its still dangerous.
Mayweather dodges Pac...this is a fact. But, don't underrate Floyd. That's a no no.

sure... but if you open up... you risk getting hit by pac... mosley knows this first hand, that's why he put on his running shoes and ran for the 12th round.
marquez got put on his azz 4x, and pac alone has KOed morales.
and duckweather chin is good but not great (as he got rocked by mosley, judah, and corley). guess what mosley, judah, and corley has that allowed them to put gayweather in queer street (aka ellerbe's butt)? speed, speed, speed, and that's what pac got in spades.
what makes pac different from mosley, judah, and corley is that pac hits a lot harder and he doesn't get tired.
flomos talk a bigger game than trollweather can put up.

I agree! Pac can take Floyd's punches. He will not hesitate... or even need to test if he can take it like what he did with Cotto. Pac can just press forward all night. Pac doesn't need to counter because Pac will initiate contact!
Here's the scenario:
1. Pac comes in with a 5-7 punch combo. In the middle of the action Floyd counters with a 1-2 punch that Pac doesn't even feel :)
2. Repeat all night (I don't want a KO .. I want to see Floyd's face like Marg).
i wanna see Pac lose by DQ. cut up floyds face and knock him the fuuck out after roger throws in the towel :fing02::crazy:
you got it all wrong duckweather will not lead... gayweather will be looking to counter. so it's not a matter of can pac counter maynever's punches, but can trollweather counter pac's punches.

I'd love to see Pac win that fight but I see it going pretty much exactly as you describe. It will end in a not very exciting UD for Floyd.
Pac will have his punch output drastically reduced due to movement as we saw with Mosley but also due to Floyd's punching accuracy and countering ability. Manny has fought heavier punchers, and while Floyd's pop is underrated, it will be (as in the Juan Diaz interview re: JMM) the accuracy that will keep Manny off enough to pull off a very anti-climatic victory.
This is the standard reply of the Mayweatherites, to just about any fight. Most understandable. But, with Pac it looks like a KO fight to me. One of them is going down, unless Mayweather pulls a Shane and runs for a decision loss.
Therefore, Pac is a 2:1 favorite.
But, since this fight will never happen, all that can be said is that Pac was the greater champion.
