Are you really differentiating the chin and ear? Yes, the mechanics are different but when a guy can't take a punch he can't take a punch. Getting into the semantics is pointless.
I think this fight is a big mistake. If he lost again, in the same way, his career would be over. Fight someone else first.
I'm going to have to agree. When people say "chin" in boxing it means ability to take a punch on the head. Whether the punch hits the actual chin or not is not really the point.
In all fairness, Demarco was the best in the division. Broner is still nowhere near the top ten P4P, so he's way overrated, but to say he hasn't fought anyone just isn't true.
Then Vitali shouldn't be allowed to enter Povetkin's locker room either.
Bull****. Chisora is a proven nut. Vitali has never done anything remotely as absurd as him.
The only worthwhile fights for Mayweather are Golovkin and Sergio Martinez at 154. Yeah, I know they're "HBO fighters" but they'll burn bridges for 10 million dollars.
Edit:
I should also add Danny Garcia.
It'd be nice if some of the top 10 heavyweights would start fighting each other. Seriously, it's freaking rare. Heavyweights love to bloat their records against lower level heavies before getting pummeled against a Klitschko. It's hard to get hyped on these contenders because they won't fight other contenders, thus proving their ability. See: Pianetta, Wach, and Charr.
The difference there is Golovkin has struggled most of his career to get anyone in the ring with him, and Kovalev doesn't have anyone left to fight at HBO. Danny probably has a half dozen great opponents who will get into the ring with him in a second.
That looks like his side, not his back from that angle. Mayorga looks chubby and coming in 20 pounds overweight is unacceptable. Whatever commission they have down there should have not let the fight go on.
Compare GGG's last few opponents to Stevens's and laugh. Golovkin's worst opponent, Ishida, is miles better than stevens's best, Elvin Ayala(who?). Those who live in glass houses my friend.
It's bad enough that boxing fans have to suffer through the common practice of having four beltholders at once, but that the WBC makes it nearly impossible to become undisputed champion in a division is a disgrace. The only way someone could become undisputed champ now if for them to win the WBO, IBF, and WBA belt and then, and only then, win the WBC belt. They'll be undisputed for all of five minutes. Disgusting.
i like mora .. good personality smart and tricky fighter in the ring with skills .. that being said ''LOOK how well rosado did" i'm a fan of rosado but he loss every round and looked like he was indrugs of some sort .. solid body movement but it was like he was in retreat going corner to corner clottey mode did hit ggg well yea he is in fight smh but it wasn't anything amazing or consistent pop shots once ina blue "how well" lol .. mora would give golovkin trouble but ggg punches will look more flashing and hard and do damage .. mora doesn't have the pop to keep golovkin honest but it might go distance but golovkin harder cleaner punches give him the rounds .. mora slick as **** tho and damn he fighting milton nunez! golovkin finished nunez in 1 lol sergio trying to prove a point with proska and nunez lol
I should be more clear. When I was saying how well Rosado did, it was in comparison to most of GGG's other opponents. I don't think Rosado won a round, but Golovkin looked worse in that fight than any other fight since his HBO debut.
Keith Thurman should win, Hypejob-Overrated fighter of the year medal. Porter, Lucas, Maidana all put Thurman on his back.
Porter struggled with Diaz in a draw. Come on folks, at least check boxrec.
What a strange turn of events. Let's assume he comes in for fights somewhere in the 170's. That still leaves 25 pounds or so he's giving up to opponents unless he goes on a weight gain program.
As much as I like Trout he was never actually a world champion. The WBA strap he had was the "regular" version of the title that Floyd won from Cotto and has held ever since.
I can't stand Canelo. Don't act like there was nobody willing to fight you. Lara anyone? Bundrage? They were BEGGING to fight you. I was all for Alvarez until this fight. I thought Sugar Shane would be the last over the hill/B class fighter you took on. Turns out I was wrong, and you want to be a paper champion.
