It is almost as if kids get strong as they grown into manhood.
2 years ago, Garcia was 20. Are we going to pretend that he isn't growing into his frame, let alone growing as a fighter?
It would be one thing if he were an aging legend who suddenly grew faster and stronger
Garcia is 22.
Lomachenko started winning rounds as soon as he started throwing. He did not start throwing until about the 7th though.
He needed a KO, or at least a few KDs, to win the fight.
Davis does look like he as in the upper half of that list. Tons of great talent, but Lopez is the top dog, then Loma, then David, then mix and match the bottom three.
Garcia reacted well to adversity against Campbell, but his footwork, head movement, defense has proven to be suspect. He is likely at the bottom of that list. Not knocking him. Again, great talent on there.
Lower level? Orozco isn’t lower level
I agree. Orozco is a solid fighter had only lost once before fighting Ortiz, but he was moving up in weight to fight ortiz IIRC. Ortiz vs Hooker has me really excited. Tons of people are sleeping on Hooker. I have Ortiz winning this, but would not be Completely shocked if Hooker wins. He can crack.
Fantastic fight. good step up for Ortiz. I have him winning, but Hooker can definitely threaten, even hurt Ortiz.
I would like to see how Vergil handles some adversity.
I feel the same way
I was rooting for Loma and thought he would win, but I would be lying if I said that he did not give up the first what? 7 rounds of the fight? There were early rounds where he threw in the single digits. I didn't have him winning a round until round 8.
What is sad is that he looked fantastic as soon as he started to you know.... throw punches. Problem is that he started fighting too little too late. He won 4, maybe 5 rounds AT BEST IMO.
Should have done more. Could have done more. But did not.
He lost. on the cards.
Im thinking Postol has trouble keeping ramirez away when ramirez piles on the pressure.
5-3 ramirez. a couple of those are pick em though. could be even on the cards.
That first round was strange. I was cooking while watching so I did not catch it all, but was it a KD canceled out by the point deduction?
I feel like Bland got done wrong.
I was rooting for Garcia, but DAZN commentators are brutal. They were talking about having every round(but the round with the KD) for Garcia. I had it much closer than that. Campbell was landing good shots in every round, despite moving backwards much of the time.
I thought Davies had it more correct. Lots of very close rounds before the KO
DAZN commentators are their to praise the cash cow, and they don't even try to hide it.
On Garcia himself: I thought he showed heart and grit to get up from the KD. He answered many questions but raised new ones. His head movement and foot work are suspect. He definitely needs to work on that. Reynoso and Canelo offer plenty to learn from.
As it stands, I would favor Lopez or Davis over Garcia.
I've always been a fan of Loma's skills but his ego is preventing him from viewing the fight objectively. Of course he doesn't think he lost. In his head there was no way he could lose that fight going in and thus he cannot accept that he lost fair and square.
I hope Loma doesn't reach Wilder levels of delusion but he's going down that road if he doesn't just accept reality and the fact that if you clearly give away the first half of the fight, you have no chance of winning unless you score a KD.
Even if Lopez landed less than was calculated by compubox, you score a fight round by round. In rounds where you do nothing, the fighter who lands a few punches will win the rounds. Sure Loma came back in the second half but not enough to even come close to winning a round 10 to 8.

Man some of these rounds are close. I wanted to give postol that round, but ramirez started landing in the last minute.
5-4-1 Ramirez
Ramirez needs to jab his way in. jab to the body.
