Are you allowed to fight with a big bushy beard? I'd have thought it would cushion the blows to the chin.
Didn't help the Canadian Bear Hugger in Super Punch Out, to be fair.
That’s surprising. Where do you live generally? I wonder if it’s a geographical issue.
Southern Illinois. 100mb connection, DAZN on Roku. Seamless connection throughout. Roku is hardwired, if that helps any.
Sure, he may have been wobbled slightly by a very powerful fighter in Povetkin, but the best thing about Joshua is that he's learning with every fight.
Fucking UK dickriders lol
A real boxing fan wants to see the best fight the best so they can say who the best is.
They don't support a guy who wins a belt then holds it hostage to line their own pockets and rob the fans of the best fights.
It's like if lebron james won the eastern conference finals, and then says he doesn't have to play the warriors because he's done enough.
Actually, I live and breathe in the US. So... carry on.
Lets be real Pedvetkin is a fossil. nobody knows his real age. and hes not even on the juice so it wasn't a level playing field.
a juice-less Povetkin still managed to outbox AJ until his fossilized body deteriorated. not bad..
how much credit should Joshua get??
He did something that nobody else has ever done. So how much credit should he get? Seriously, he could knock out God and still people would say "well, God is x amount of years old" and so on.
Give the guy a break. He's a unified heavyweight champion, and deserves the accolade. The man is 22-0. When Wilder was 22-0, he beat Jesse Oltmanns in Mexico and hadn't even won the heavyweight title yet. AJ has already beat Whyte, Martin, Brazeale, Molina, Klitschko, Takan, Parker, and now Povetkin.
Anyone who had Joshua ahead after the 6th round is clearly a racist.
Give the old white dude his props, he shook the young lion in every single round.
Don't be a dick. What has color have to do with anything?
Wilder is INSANELY mobile. Its why he's been able to survive for so long despite his poor fundamentals.
I'm SICK to death of Joshua fans. Most of you are complete ****ing morons and absolutely clueless about boxing.
Tonight has proven that ****ing emphatically.
Who's a Joshua fan? Usyk was awesome in that ring tonight. Do you think Wilder would stand a chance? A punchers chance, yes. But if Usyk does what he did to Joshua tonight, he beats Wilder.
At the end of the day, this is heavyweight boxing. It's a sport which is heavily betted on. Joshua will beat Usyk in the rematch because, well, money talks.
Browne was out of shape, too slow and too old. But that was some performance by Whyte. And the knockout was magnificent. He's ready to fight Wilder, but can he beat him? That's something I don't know for sure, but I would like to see the fight made.
Joshua did what was need to win the fight. According to some, he's supposed to knock everyone out in every fight he has. Boxing is not like that. As long as you get the win, it doesn't matter how ugly it looks. The fact is that after 21 fights, AJ has all but one belt. Wilder and his manager/promoter didn't seek out the other belts - Hearn and Joshua did, though. That's the reason why they have those belts now.
No matter what AJ does, people will always slag him off. Wlad's too old, he's fought bums, etc. The truth is, Wlad is no ordinary 41 year old. Everyone thought AJ would win early, or Wlad would win late. AJ has just proved he has it in the tank, and he can take a shot from one of the heaviest hitters in the HW division. Parker and Wilder should fight to face him next, and the winner of those two will be sparked out by AJ.
It is quite obvious that after the second knockdown in rnd 11 that AJ was going to win the fight anyway. Referee saved Wlad some damage, and it's clear he didn't complain. He'd had enough of being hit that hard late in the fight.
To be honest I thought Haye would win, but I wanted Bellew to win. The injury clearly hampered Haye's movement, but I'm not so sure he had the measure of Bellew. Tony got more respect than he had before the fight, that's the sure. Once Haye's injury came into play, he was cannon fodder.
I like Haye, but thought he should have been pulled out earlier, to save his future (if any) career.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but in the 4 minute round DAZN didn't show the timer on the screen, just that round, so they must have been complicit.
I thought I saw it with about 25 seconds to go, but not after that. I'd got up to go to the bathroom and kept wondering why the bell hadn't rang because I hadn't moved.
I had Canelo by one round, but only just. I thought he landed the cleaner punches, even if he was hounded by GGG all night. There were many instances of Golovkin throwing at thin air - Canelo was too quick getting out the way of him a lot of the time. That said, 118-110? No chance. Not in a million years.
Too easy for Joyce. He only had to throw to connect, due to the lack of movement from Stiverne. Forget the bigger names on the heavyweight scene, anyone in the top 15 would level him right now.
Where did 116-111 come from? Chisora doing what he does best by bringing the war, but also doing what he does worst by fading too fast. Still won it for me though.
Joyce took those punches like he didn't even feel them. Impressive, and rightly will get a shot at the title. Hoping to see that next year, but Usyk vs Fury might stop it happening. Have to wonder where Parker will go from here. Put up a great fight, but Joyce is just too strong.
Put him up against a guy like Chisora next. Witherspoon was there to be hit, and offered very little in return. I like Usyk, but not sure he has the tools to cope with someone with heavy hands.
So if social media was around when Douglas beat Tyson, the same would have been said. Obviously going to be a rematch, and Joshua will take Ruiz Jr apart because he'll be hungrier than ever. Taking nothing away from Ruiz who hit Joshua with some good shots, especially that one flush on the temple.
Every good fighter has to lose at some point.
