Devon wasnt acting. He just quit. He didnt even seem sure what eye was actually cut. On a side notr, did the ref not say the first cut was caused by a punch.Im sure I heard evon's corner screaming bull**** at the call and if that was the case why go to the cards. The last headbutt didnt cause a cut or even a bump that I could see?
Aw, thinking back, that Dirrell fight still puts a smile on my face. That fiasco stands out from anything I have ever seen in any sport. That half crying "Ill finish it man Ill finish it." at the post fight interview was priceless. I dont think there is any road back for Dirrell but what Devon did doesnt compare. The right eye was busted up,he was loosing the fight and I think he was getting tired. He took a way out, it happens. What Dirrell did was just on another level. His legacy has been set in stone.
Good question. I am a fan of FNF but there was something very special about TNF. Maybe tuesday is just a better way to break up the week and maybe Shawn was just more fun than Teddy and his endless repetition.
I think this would be a slugfest from start to stop. If Peter could keep it at a very slow pace he might have a chance but there is no way he could go punch for punch with Tua. Tua would outland him 2 to 1 and win a lopsided decision. I'd like to see it though.
Another great example of the fix being in. No way all three judges could legitimately see dias winning by that much. It shouldn't have been close. Morales won clearly.
In last nights showtime interview Mayorga said vargas was smooth and chubby like his kids backside so he would have no problem slapping him. Then he lit a cig and blew some smoke. There is just something about him thats hard not to like.
No question orales was robbed. However this should still be his last fight. Dias is a one dimentional stright ahead fighter with little speed and no power. He was the perfect opponent for Morales but there is now where else for Eric to go. His legs looked worse than ever,if that is possible, and he claimed to be affected by the punches more this fight than in the past. Also the announcers said he had to lose 7 pounds the day before the fight and it affected his conditioning. He fought a great fight but it is time to retire. He is a legend too bad his last win was robbed from him.
Exactly the same except he plods straight in has no power and very rarley connects with clean shots. Other than that it was a good analagy. Oh and he just lost that fight. He should have been down 6 points after 5 rounds and the rest were pretty even. Not even close.
I would rather watch a match done by Smoger than any of the others. Cortez seems to have slipped a lot, Bayless always seems to be in the way and Naydy might just be the worst ref of any of the majors. Richard Steele? Whats that about? When it gets down too it it looks like time for the next generation to step up and take over.
Come on guys. Last nights fight was 100% worked. MMA now has their own version of the Phantom Punch. Griffen was hit by a soft right jab as Silva was backpeddeling and dropped like someone put a bullet between his eyes.
This is a fighter who has never been known as a big puncher but apparently has been watching watching some old Bruce Lee movies and has perfected the deadly one inch punch. Oh yeh Griffen was then awarded a $60000 bonus for fight of the night without landing one significant blow. Joke UFC=WWE
