Pro Wrestling was awesome when I was between 4-9 years old. Loved Hulk Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior and Macho Man and the rest of the juiced up wild freaks of the mod to late 80s WWF. But once I learned that the "wrestling" wasn't real sport competition and more "entertainment" I quickly lost interest and gravitated towards boxing. That was about age 10. MMA isn't my favorite but I will watch a big fight like anytime Conor McGregor fights or when Brock Lesnar fought for the first time or 2 I watched it just to see how he would do. I can appreciate the talent those guys have in UFC and they are amazing athletes. I guess I just enjoy the flow and appearance of boxing more than I enjoy watching guys grapple on the ground and I don't enjoy watching guys get elbowed or kneed in the face/head.

Who cares about this *****. And to the guy who said AJ was knocked down by the “corpse” of 40 yr old Klitschko, His performance against AJ was much much better than against Fury. Anyone can see this. It’s called the eye test. Watch the Fury fight and then the AJ fight. The Fury fight was more of an outlier. The AJ fight I think it’s pretty obvious Klitschko basically decided to put everything he possibly Could into winning one more huge fight, Probably be the biggest of his career with 80K people at Wembley vs a young lion like AJ. Klitschko has always been known as a huge puncher. The fact that AJ was dropped really is insignificant. The same goes for sparring stories involving Wilder, regardless of his opponent in sparring. He hasn’t yet been hurt or dropped in a fight, that’s what matters.

Is this the consensus? I've watched more Jermall than Jermell, and Jermall has been in with better competition and he's physically bigger so I always assumed he was better of the two.. No that’s not the consensus. The consensus is that Jermall is better. He has shown a lot more power, and like you said is a little bigger and fought tougher competition

Those sound like red flags for forecasting a potential sociopath. Tell me, have you ever thought about or actually carried out, torturing and killing helpless animals? Just curious. Secondly, I’m not sure of your size, and I’m no fan of Frampton, but I’d bet the farm that little Carl Frampton(who is small but is an elite world level fighter) would beat the brakes off you were trying to call time out or quit or jump thru the ropes out of the ring a la Charlie Zelenoff. Finally someone taking sense. I can’t believe people still think Eubank can do anything above Euro level. You're basing that all.on the Groves fight? First off remember, Eubank is a middleweight fighting bigger guys. Groves is a lot bigger than Eubank. Second I think it's funny when people say things like BJS kicked his ass. Not how I remember it. Eubank was inexperienced then and I think he was afraid of running out of gas in a 12 round fight. He did almost nothing for.the first he of the fight. However once he started fighting he made it very competitive. I think it was a SD but not positive. Anyways, I think Eubank is not a very good boxer but I think he's a good fighter. He's fun to watch, I just do not understand why he is wasting his time fighter bigger guys when he could fight guys his own size, especially considering 160 has alot.more exciting fights to be made

Saunders isn’t a big puncher and he soundly out boxed him. I respect McGuigan but he did say Groves would beat Smith, Frampton would win LSC 2, Haye Bellew... Yes but let's not.forget Jr came back.down the stretch in that fight, rocked BJS a few times, bad him hurt at least once, and if I remember correctly, ended up losing a split decision after basically doing nothing in the first 5 or 6 rounds

I’d love a tournament at Middleweight. Obviously the GGG/Canelo rematch thing ties up most of the belts but ideally it would be Golovkin Canelo Jacobs Saunders Derevyenchenko Murata Charlo Lemieux Or even a middleweight tournament without GGG or Canelo would still be great. Keep all the sane guys but add Andrade and Andy Lee. Or how about Eubank Jr since he says he still can make middleweight. Or maybe Nate Gallimore or Centeno Jr or somebody for the last spot. It would be a very interesting tournament with or without GGG and Canelo

This is the problem with the boxing media hbo commentators are saying there’s no “clear” front runner for best LHW wow lol Alvarez just beat the snot out of kovalev but there still “not sure who’s best” but I have a gut feeling if it was Bivol who knocked out Kova they would quickly call him the best at LHW. Things like that only certain people will understand how ridiculous and biased the media could be. I don’t see that as biased, I see it as correct. You honestly are ready to proclaim Eleider Alvarez the best LHW in the world? He stopped Kovalev in an upset win which was an amazing performance by him. But that doesn’t mean I necessarily think he is better than Bivol, Beterbiev, Stevenson or even Badou Jack. People sleep on Badou Jack, but he seems to get better with age the last few years and the fact he keeps getting screwed by judges and getting draws has stopped him from getting all the shine he deserves. I think Jack would give any current LHW a very tough fight and I see him as having a real shot to win against any of them also. I’d like to see Jack vs Alvarez

So you are saying that Benavidez ego got hurt because he can’t do ****? He completely dominated Gavril. I didn’t like the comment about the broken bones and then saying “I wonder why” at the end. Would’ve shown more class not to even mention Gavril injuries. But he did say “I couldn’t knock him out, he was a tough son of a gun”. That doesn’t sound like a bruised ego to me

Hes right what kind of bîtches these modern beta males boxers like Bellew are. They now have the audacity to act like boxing means you can only fight someone your bigger than,bellend fought a smw & got merced & now thinks its ok to cherrypick 1 legged old fvcks & journeyman eurobums but trys to talk mad shît about Wilder all the time for supposedly cherrypicking ironically. Im no Bellew fan, but when he signed to fight Haye the first time, Haye wasn’t thought of as a one legged old man. Everyone assumed Haye was going to KO Bellew viciously in the first couple rounds. Regardless of the strange outcome of the fight, I just don’t see where u can even compare his to Wilder in terms of being a cherry picker. He fought that undefeated Makabu dude who was thought of as a dangerous southpaw cruiser, he fought BJ Flores who was nothing special and then he signed to go up to heavyweight and face Haye. Since their fight ended bizarrely he signed to fight him again in a fight that will bring a lot of interest in the UK. I just don’t see the dude as some example of what’s wrong with modern fighters. I could name off quite a few guys who cherrypick and don’t have the mentality of wanting to fight the best before I ever got to Bellew in my opinion.

I think Andrade, Charlo, Benavidez or Saunders would be satisfactory replacements. Anyone else would be disappointing. This whole incident has kind of cast a light on how weak MW is as a whole at the minute, honestly. I disagree. The fact that the fight got canceled basically a month out is the reason, and most of the other big names in the division already have fights lined up. If the same thing happened in any other division we would see the same thing. That being said, there’s no excuse why GGG’s team shouldn’t do the Derevyenchenko fight. It takes care of the IBF mandatory and he is the best available guy right now and would be a real challenge for GGG I believe. But yeah, I disagree that MW is a particularly weak division. I think 18-24 months ago, yes definitely, but not now. You got Golovkin, Canelo, Jacobs, Saunders, Charlo, Derevyenchenko, Lemieux, Andrade, Murata, and probably a couple others I’m forgetting. That’s not a bad lineup of fighters. Plus there will probably be a couple more good JMW that will Move up at some point in the near future because of weight because they are huge. Like Hurd and Julian Williams and others.

Looking for a crowd-pleasing fighter @ 154? Say NO MORE, and simply say GALLIMORE! Kell Brook vs. Nathaniel Gallimore! Make It Haappen! I couldn’t agree more! Has Nate fought again since he stopped Deloach? Man he was/is on a roll after beating that Sampson Lewkowicz(sp) prospect from the DR named Jaison something m. Jaison Rosario? Anyways I could be wrong but I think Gallimore was the underdog in that fight and he stopped him and he was also the B side/underdog against Deloach and he stopped him as well. Gallimore isn’t real polished as far as his boxing skills go but he seems to make up for that by being tough as hell with a damn good chin and an unshakable confidence. I’ve noticed he is impossible to intimidate. Even when his opponent hurts him early he does not show any signs of mental weakness or self doubt. Fun fighter to watch. I’ve enjoyed rooting for him the last couple years and I’d love to see him be able to make some decent money and have success against whichever big name guy he finally gets matched up with at 154. I think on TBRB he is ranked like #5 or #6 at 154

I had hoped that this would happen. Just the final kick in the teeth from Groves. One last Fu*k you. The thing is, I didn’t really see Groves kicking Eubank Jrs ass like some others did. And I’m a bigger Groves fan than Eubank Jr. I saw it as an ugly affair full of Groves trying to jab Eubank when Eubank came forward, and as soon as Eubank got close he grabbed him and tied him up. Other than that it was a stale fight of Eubank Jr launching lead left hooks that usually missed badly and both fightersvwrestlung around with eachother while using their free arm to hit their opponent in the side til the ref broke them apart. Only damage was caused by a head butt. Perhaps the blood from the butt along with Jrs amateurish wild misses helped convince people Groves put a beat down on Jr. Not the fight I saw though

Anyone who is able to throw more than 1000 punches in a mw fight & win in a "title" fight, has more than a chance against anyone. That said Brant needs to keep his head down more & learn to pick his moments rather than just windmilling or Canelo/Jacobs etc. puts him to sleep real quick.. Funny thing is, triple L was trying to cherrypick Murata the softest "champ" between 154-168,& now that an AA with size & skills destroyed him, suddenly its back to the drawing board on how to duck Charlo while still getting another ginger payday,& unfortunately for LLL he now has 1 new name added to said ducking board.:lol1: Golovkin is living rent free in your head, amigo. Therefore that leaves the fights that make the most money as being what appeals to him unless he wants to challenge himself and go up and fight Smith which i heard some discussion about. Smith is a huge 168lb’er. He would really have a size advantage over Golovkin I’d assume, but I’d still like to see the fight. Why not? I’m a boxing fan.

If I can't split them, why would I score the round to one of the fighters? And which fighter gets the round? That's the only way you're going to get a proper reading on events. The only person here saying Postal won is you. So it's clear who can't score a fight properly. But it has nothing to do with that does it? You just want to smear a British fighter to make you feel better. F*ck off with your insecurity will you. To be honest I believe judges should be encouraged to score rounds even when they truly are having a hard time determining which guy to give the round to. This is just one part of boxing scoring system that should be changed. It makes no sense to me how you can have an extremely close, exciting fight where both guys are landing great shots and showing great skills, but even though every round is very very competitive, Fighter A does just enough more than Fighter B to deserve the round, although it was very close and competitive. If every round was like that for 12 rounds, at the end of the fight you’d have two guys who are both looking equally beaten up and exhausted and the fans would be thrilled having seen such a competitive awesome fight. Yet the score cards would read 120-108. That doesn’t seem right. There’s gotta be other ways, possibly better ways to score fight then by rounds and by the 10 point must system. But I’ll admit I don’t have a better suggestion. But I’m sure some smart people out there or even on these forums could come up with a better system. Oh yeah, and every commision should approve Instant Replay to be used by the ref in championship fights at least, or championship fights and eliminators as well. We can’t afford to have fights like Sergio Martinez vs Kermit Cintron where Martinez knocked Cintron out, but then after Cintron cried to the ref That he was head butted over and over til the ref finally gave in and ruled It a Bradbury. Then Martinez, after believing he had rightfully won by knockout, is forced to then continue to Fight for Several more Rounds and should have been awarded a decision victory, but after the ref ridiculously took a point from Martinez for a low blow in round 12 I believe, the judges rule the fight a draw. That was The biggest robbery I’ve ever seen in boxing, simply because by viewing the replay anyone can plainly see he knockedCintron out with a punch, not a head it. Fight should be over. Then he did enough after that tO won on points as well. I’m rhe end, his record shows a drawn that should’ve been a KO win. With instant replay available to that ref, that never would’ve happened

Any real boxing fan shouldn’t give a **** about the financial terms of a boxer. We are only interested in the fight ONLY. The public shouldn’t be commenting simply because it not like we get any of the money. So why do people give a ****! How anyone follows Clenelo and his team is beyond me. He is the most entitled pampered boxer in boxing and thinks he is more than he is. His own fan base booed him after the first GGG fight. That’s says a lot. I think GGG should just move on. Exactly. Why do fans involve themselves with financial details and demands and negotiations and all that other BS? The actual fight is the only thing that matters to me. Until the fight is announced, all the BS about demands and purse splits and negotiations between camps is just a bunch of noise. I don’t care about that crap. Some fans might say they want to know those kinds of details so that in the event a fight doesn’t get Made, they can know which fighter was to blame and which fighter “ducked” the other. But since as fans the only information we have access to are soundbites from interviews with rival lromotors and fighters, all of whom have an agenda and will take every opportunity to slam the other guy and say anything necessary to build up their guy, if it’s comlletely untrue sometimes. So I don’t really have a lot of Confidence that we get anywhere near a clear picture of the goings on behind the scenes for these negotiations based on soundbites from Promoters, fighters, and trainers.

still cant tell how good betrrbiev is. a coupla yesrs back he was the dark horse bookeyman. eh, that fizzled like his career momentum i guess. he hasnt looked like the scary destroyer we (hardcore fan culture) hyped him up to be. very curious. I’m also very curious to see how Beterbiev can do against better and better competition. I don’t think the fans who were hyping him as the next Russian boogeyman were necessarily shown to be wrong. It’s more of a case of his career momentum more or less grinding to a halt because of his long layoffs/inactivity due to several injuries IIRC

Almost managing to survive by refusing to throw for eleven rounds before getting brutally stopped is showing greatness? He was throwin punches just not enough. Whether u want to believe it or not he has a bum knee. He was shot in his leg and was supposed to take years to even learn to walk again. He was not mobile at all which really limits a fighter in the ring obviously. I wish he would’ve thrown more punches but he was out jabbing Crawford in first few rounds and landed a few nice right hands to the head and a nice right to the body. He got beat by a top lb for lb guy while he was trying to fight with a bum knee. Just listen to Robert Garcia talk about Benavidez. He says he is very talented fighter. I don’t know why some fans call really good fighters bums just because they lost to one of the best in the world.

I don’t know if any of you guys have watched any of the promo videos WBSS outs on YouTube but they are excellent. For every fight they have had a pre fight video about 25 mins long, just like a HBO 24/7 type thing. Then after the fight, they release one like the one from Saturday’s fight is already up on YouTube it’s called WBSS-Gassiev vs Dorticos- The Day After. Very good production value and very entertaining to watch for any interested fan. Thought it was really cool to see Gassiev give Dorticos back his WBA belt in the dressing room after the fight, it was a genuine moment of sportsmanship and respect. On the subject of the next tournament weight class, I’m sure it’s a long shot, but what about Middleweight? In a division where nobody will fight eachother because of the GGG/Canelo rematch, it’s the perfect division for a tournament. Of course it would be better with GGG and Canelo, but even without them could have a cracking tournament. With them it would be like GGG, Canelo, Saunders, Jacobs, Charlo, Derevyenchenko, Lemieux, and Andrade. If you take GGG and Canelo out then you add in Murata and maybe a wildcard like Nate Gallimore or an old Andy Lee or something. Or even better, Eubank Jr since he can still make 160 according To him. Either way that would Be a hell of a tournament. That being said, I don’t see it having a snowballs chance in hell of happening.

I thought Gabe looked pretty good in his last fight. He got a stoppage win and it was on ESPN I believe. Only drawback is that it was against Glen Tapia.

Both have been found wanting.They should both retire after this pointless Eubank Jr is not even 30 years old yet. He has 2 losses, the first being a competitive loss to Saunders. Even after giving away many early rounds he came back in the second half enough to cause a split decision if I remember correctly. Saunders is a good fighter and the loss was very competitive. His only other loss was to Groves, a guy much bigger and stronger than him. Groves is also a much better technical boxer. Eubank Jr has the skills and heart and stamina to be a great fighter, but not a great boxer. We have seen him lunging and throwing wide amateurish punches missing wildly in desperation vs Groves. Part of this I attribute to his inflated ego which allows him to believe he doesn't need a trainer. I'm interested to see if his new trainer can have a positive effect. But even if he does not get any better in the boxing skills department, his excellent workrate and insane fitness and stamina and heart are enough for him to give most fighters a tough fight. Hell even Groves had a tough time with him and never came close to stopping him. Eubank Jr needs to go back to middleweight and quit giving away so much strength and size fighting at 168. Guys like Groves and Smith are just too big for him, especially since Eubank doesn't possess special punching power. Down at 160, fighting on equal terms with guys his size, he can utilize that workrate and stamina and make for some really entertaining fights with the top guys. I'd love to see him against Charlo, Lemieux, Saunders rematch, Derevyanchenko, Jacob's, Canelo, Golovkin, Rob Brant, any of those guys. I really believe Eubank Jr is a tough out at 160. He says he can still make 160 so I've never understood why he went up to 168

I was shocked when Pascal beat that undefeated prospect Elbiali in his final fight before his “retirement”. What he meant to say is, “everyone is telling me that my age has caught up with me and I’ve looked like $h!t in my last few fights and that it’s time to call it a career. So this fight with Elbiali will be my last fight as long as things go to plan and I get knocked around the ring by this Egyptian prospect. However, if I surprise everyone including myself and whoop this kid, then the retirement comments don’t count.”

I wish we would of got a few domestic fights out of the MW quartet of Murray, Macklin, Barker and Lee. Fully agree with you on this. Especially after watching that middleweight roundtables show on Sky Sports a few years back where all 4 of them were there with Johnny Nelson or somebody throwing out questions. Murray made it clear he thought he was the best of the 4 of them and I think he insulted Macklins performance vs GGG saying he appeared scared and appeared to have lost the fight before it began because he was intimidated by GGG. I was surprised Macklin didn't react more to that and at least call out Murray and say to his face that he would love to fight him because he would be easy work with his robotic style walking around the ring with his gloves shielding his face. Anyways I'm disappointed we never got to see Macklin vs Lee, Macklin vs Barker, Macklin vs Murray, Lee vs Barker, Lee vs Murray
