I just told some idiot on Instagram that Floyd sucker punched Ortiz and he responds:
"Oh gtfo wit dat biased comment. Floyd got sucker headbutted"
:lol1:
- Ted Mosby
He is bigger though :lol1: Clearly.
Obviously he's not overly larger but he's clearly the larger of the two men.
Actually tale of the tape had Floyd listed as 5'8 while Cotto was listed as 5'7
So you really think that Floyd approached the fight against Cotto, Ortiz and Mosley the same way he approached the fight against Guerrero, Alvarez ?!
And btw I dont want to take away credit from Cotto, he fought a hell of a fight against Floyd and his jab was sharp as f*ck
I think that Floyd possibly under estimed Cotto. I don't think he thought Cotto was going to drag him into such a rough fight, sure Floyd won rounds but some rounds were pretty close and in round 8 I believe Cotto really made Floyd work.
My issue with this topic is this; if Floyd was able to move at will he would have, he wouldn't fight Cotto like that for 10-11 rounds.
jesus christ mayweather is overrated
floyd, unless he is straight out running or throwing to keep you off, he gets the ring cut off on him all the time, matter of fact it's his habit of just jumping straight back, he puts himself on the ropes
he cant out hustle elite pressure fighters like cotto unless he is sprinting around the ring, and that for the most part only lasts about 3 rounds before he tires
and guerrero put no pressure on him until about the 9th, the majority of the early rounds were staredowns as guerrero was trying to execute his retarded gameplan of boxing floyd in a game of counter-punching exclusively
Good post. Floyd always puts himself on the ropes, I don't know why he doesn't use more lateral movement. We can look at the Oscar fight for this habit.
Guerrero and Canelo went in there with game plans that a retarded kid made up on fight night. Not to mention both don't move very well
Sure.
But height doesn't equal size though, surely?
Mike Tyson is listed as 5'11 as is Celestine Caballero.
You're making Cotto out to be some monster which simply isn't true
- Ted Mosby
and i realized that floyd sr. wouldn't have allowed that fight to be that close. floyd won 9-3 or 8-4 depending who you ask but i have no doubt in my mind that floyd would've fought like he did in round 12 for at least 8-10 rounds if floyd sr. was the trainer......i think there would've been a stoppage tbh.
Still under the impression that Floyd fought Cotto like that "for the fans" are we?
:)
if cotto and floyd are the same size, how come cotto just won't go back down to ww? if he can make the weight like everyone thinks, wouldn't he want to go back down with all those great money fights(marquez, pacquiao rematch, floyd rematch, bradley, etc...)? fact is, he can't make 147 without being a dead man.
After fighting at JMW after what 3-4 years he would be dead making 147. Just like Dawson was when he fought Ward. Could he make the weight? Sure. Will it cost him the fight? Probably.
agreed......cotto is clearly the bigger and stronger fighter....and it showed whenever they fought on the inside.
Didn't The Reed just dismiss this theory that Cotto is bigger than Floyd in another thread?
you mean to tell me that floyd(who was standing his ground and trading with cotto for the majority of the fight) wouldn't have been able to fight like he did in the 12 round for at least 8 rounds? get real.....senior wouldn't have EVER let that stuff happen.
Or maybe because Cotto is a veteran who forced Floyd to fight his fight for a majority of the rounds?
Floyd is always safety first. Don't kid yourself to think he did it "for the fans"
That should be the name of the show.
"How Many Whores I Banged Before Meeting Your Mother"
I'll ask Marshall and Lily what they think about that. Sounds like it could sell.
I'll send you my sex tape of Robin
I think you need to take less than a decade to tell your kids how you met their mother.
I'm really just trying to tell them how many whores I've banged.
- Ted Mosby
Well, they already failed right off the bat because you can see they're using a new version of windows media player to play the video. They could have at least full screened it so they can pretend it was live.
Which video? I thought we were talking about the scene in the bar with the fight playing?
- Ted Mosby
This episode takes place in 2002 so assuming they tried to keep it historically accurate, that could be a clue.
They usually do keep it pretty accurate.
-Ted Mosby
who is "the reed"? and no one in their right mind believes that floyd is naturally bigger cotto.
You just said Cotto is 'bigger' which isn't actually true.
:pat:
Look through the treads here. The title is If Cotto somehow beats Martinez.
