looooool, i must say though it was sad to see a legend like de la hoya take a beating in his last fight, it would have been great if he got that rematch against mayweather though i think that was, at the time, gona b for mayweather 147lb WBC belt? still lookin back i reckon a fight @ welterweight against Cotto or Hatton would have been good, 145 was just too much for him :S, taking nothing away from pacquiao but that weight demand served him nicely in the end and not meaning to downsize his victory agaisnt Cotto but why demand a 145lb catchweight got a WELTERWEIGHT title fight? thats jus plain bull 2 me
Marquez v Katsidis - I can see this fight playing out very similar to the first Marquez-Diaz fight. Diaz and Katsidis are both fighters that like to be right in your face but haven't got the best of defence. I can see JMM taking a beating early, weathering the storm then KOing Katsidis in the later rnds. Marquez KO rnds 6-9.
Ward v Bika - I got Ward winning this one on points, possibly a late stoppage. Bika is resilient and might put up a fight, but Ward will outbox him. Ward UD
Froch v Abraham - This is the fight! I'm from England so I'm gona have to back Froch lol. But from a non-biased view, this is a pick'em fight. Both guys love to come forward, both guys love to mix up, this is just gona be a war. I can see BIG shots from both sides. 2bh they both have got equal chance of knocking each other out. I got Froch winning on points in a very competitive fight, but wouldn't b surprised if he's put on his backside at some fight or even if he were stopped. Froch UD(close)/possible late TKO.
I think it's fair to assume you are a Khan hater lol. I'm an Khan fan (not a hugely biased one nor a suck up). I definitely feel that he needs to rematch Prescott and I'm confident he'll come out with a great win in that. He has got head movement, if it were the case of what you're explaining then he'd come out of every fight looking like he's wearing make up. Ok he got hit by Maidana/Malignaggi but even the greatest boxers (Manny Pacquiao get tagged, just look at his Cotto fight). Not meaning to sound rude but I find you slightly sad to sit on your ass typing hate behind a computer screen lol. It's soooo much easier talking from the outside in the comforts of a chair, then actually putting the hours in the gym accompanied with the dedication and hardwork. And yes Haroon is representing Pakistan and rightly so, given that he was snubbed by the GB team for the Commonwealth Games yet progressed further as well as beating one of them in the process! I'm sure you'll probably reply to this with a hissy fit cos you've got nothing better to do, so I'll save you the trouble by saying if I don't reply, read this again...
This is the worst bait thread I've ever seen, anyone bad mouthing Khan is a racist or mad because Khan looks better then them or is a flat out hater..Khan is a beast dude a really good upper level fighter..Just stop the hate already bro,Khan is fun to watch just enjoy his fights and stop it already...
Totally agree with you man, I find ppl like this dude pretty sad lool. Honestly does he really think Khan or anyone in the boxing world really gives a s**t? lol
National Writer, you really are a sad individual and above all a Khan fighter. It's obvious why you selected Tyson as the opposing fighter. I'm not trying to bum-chum Khan but haven't you got nothing better to do than sit on your ass all day posting Khan-Hate material. Give the guy some credit man, he won a world title 3 fights after that defeat. That takes alot of heart. And in the Maidana fight he more than redeemed himself, especially after taking that monster shot in rnd 10, cmon man the guy didn't even go down! Give some credit where it's due dude
Looool Prescott Army, you really are a sad person, you know very well you were indirectly highlighting Amir Khan here, I'm not bum-chumming Khan, but in his defence he has gone on on record stating he will fight Prescott again. At this moment in time, it doesn't make sense, Prescott got lucky in that win and since then he's been proven to be a one-hit wonder, if he does beat McCloskey, I would love to see the rematch. From an unbiased POV, I got Khan winning by UD/Late TKO. Surely having witnessed rnd 10 of the Maidana fight, that proves Amir's got a decent chin.
National Writer yet again this proves how sad you are looool. Reliving the past...move on man, get a life. You really must be a Khan hater, I wonder why. I really do hope Amir does well in his career so that years from now, when losers such as yourself sit on your ass n still moan, he's laughing down at you
Press conference tomorrow at Planet Hollywood Haymarket London, open to public. 11.30am onwards
Cheers mate, appreciate it. Just to confirm, is it at 11:30 or 12:30, It's only that I just found a site saying 12:30, so not sure about timing.
I can confirm that richard schaefer will be doing the press conference not De La Hoya.
Why is De La Hoya not doing the press conferences? He wasnt even at the Mayweather-Mosley fight? He is not promoting his fighters properly! I guess he will be at the US presser.
Ah I know what you mean man, I was also at the Khan-Malignaggi conference at London and was wicked 2 meet one of my idols Oscar de la Hoya, even got the autograph :D . Still though should be good tomorrow.
I think a fight between them would be a big sell here in the UK because the bulk of the boxing fans that would know him are from England. On the other hand, it wouldn't do that much for Amir's career in the sense that after the Maidana fight, he's answered questions about his chin and resilience, and also ended the critisism of avoiding big punchers. The only benefit would be rectifying that blemish. Prescott isn't really that much of a credible opponent neither, he's been exposed as a pure brawler with **** boxing skills, Kevin Mitchell mainly saw to that. I'm not against the fight but can't really see the benefit as a whole, to Amir's career. PS - I got Khan winning by wide UD/possible late TKO.
I'm a big Khan and I'm sure that this fight would be competitive and exciting. But end of the day you have to be realistic. In the present, I got Pacquiao winning mid rnd stoppage. However, give it 2 more years and you got a much closer fight. Khan's chin has still got question marks, but he's a 100% new fighter under Roach, much better defence, footwork, better boxing brain. I'm not trying to be like "Wazaa" here lol, but generally ppl do over-critisise him. Guy has come a LONG way since the prescott fight, takes alot of guts/bravery to step in the ring with a legend ie Barrera only 2 fights after, regardless if he was shot. Then to win a world title against a mechanical yet resilient champ in Kotelnik. Goota give credit/respect where its's due.
I think both fighters can benefit from this. Diaz in his goal to re-establish himself and Marquez in his goal 4 a rubber match against pacquiao. Personally I think Diaz would be the favourite as I don't feel Marquez would be able to hold up against his relentless offence. In some ways it's a bit similar 2 Cotto-Margarito with margarito;s similar offence.
wtf is up with alberto martinez's head in the first pic? doesn't look messed up like that in the second pic, unless the second pic is before that, which means chavez did some serious damage in 1 round.
and damn! those are some fine ass girls.
His mouth guard came off in the first pic, I thought the same initially but then noticed he's wearing a red mouth guard.
What's that silver belt Cotto has on his right shoulder in the pics? I know the other one is the WBA super belt (pointless) but haven't seen the other one before :S
