I love both these fighters. 'One Time' is on the up and Bradley is established. Bradley is one of a small group of fighters whose crediblity would be enhanced by a lose. The Provodnikov fight was a draw at best. Bradley boxed well and gave Ruslan a lot to think about. But whenever Provodnikov let his hands go, Bradley was wobbled and looked out on his feet in several rounds. Taking a knee in the last round confirms Bradley shouldn't have won despite a good performance.
Thurman showed against Diego Chaves all the qualities of an elite fighter. Chaves is a technical gifted, hard hitting puncher\boxer. Who asked plenty of question of Thurman and seemed to nullify him for most of the fight. I say 'seemed' because Thurman made adjustments throughout the fight. By the time that crushing body shot dropped Chaves, he had dropped his punch output significantly and was unable to deal with Thurman's lateral movement.
If a Bradley v Thurman fight is made, Thurman would have to drop Bradley multiple times or get the K.O. in order to win. Bradley for whatever reason is a protected fighter, where decisions are concerned. Bradley can obviously get a UD or SD and I can see why the majority opinion favours it, but I sincerely believe Thurman is a special talent and should be afforded the nod against Bradley.
David Reid for me. He was brought up quick and his career was over before 20 fights. Even Lacy to some extent. Going on the road to fight Calzaghe was way more than he was ready for. Not sure if his team overrated him or underestimated Calzaghe.
Lacy's team were stupid. Lacy is supposedly 5ft 10in and Calzaghe 5ft 11ins. I can't believe it for a second as Calzaghe towered over Lacy in their fight.
There is no way a fighter like that has success over an opponent so much taller than him. It was pathetic watching that fight.
If Maidana uses his jab, he wins. If he tries to brawl like he did against Alexander, he'll get tied up, nullified, frustrated and lose. Garcia has this style in his repertoire.
