If u payed attention and actually know boxing u would know that if u pull a mans head down as Abeko was doing, while the other guy is aiming for a body shot his punch is going to land lower than what he was aiming for. THATS y whe
n the ref saw that he would go in and first tell Abeko to stop pulling his head down then he would tell Abner to watch the low blows. that's y none of them punches weren't counted against him. I expected Tarver to address that but he was too stupid to c that also. Showtime announcers already suck to begin with. Now the ref was crazy to call that low blow a knockdown, but even without that Mares would have won. Mares fought a hell of a fight, stop crying over low blows like little b!tches.
If you are tired of hearing people cry about it, then get the hell off of this site and don't look at any boxing sites for the next two weeks. Abeko never pulled Mares head down. Mares lean in and Abeko held him. That doesn't justify hitting a man low. Even when his head wasn't down, Mares landed at least 20 low blows. The ref warned him at least 10 times for low blows. When you warn a guy that many times, a point should be deducted at some point. There is no way in hell anyone short of Stevie Wonder could miss that low blow in the 11th round when you are standing two feet from the combatants and have that kind of angle. That ref should be banned for life.
