Man I haven't had a "favorite" fighter since vargas sr and I cant wait to see where this kid goes. Love the style, if the tenacity matches, I'm all in lol
As dumb as that is
Honest question for sunday night watchers. I am half cut, which out of Espinosa or fundura has a more preposterous height to weight ratio? I'm guessing fundura, but they are both ridiculous imo
This card is absolute fire compared to what was on this weekend. My only complaint is the timing. I'm all in on all boxing, but late night sunday is a stretch I will pull, but i cant think there is the audience this card needs that feel the same.
Should have started way earlier IMHO. Not sure what they were competing against tbf. Even still, I think earlier would be better. Not many folks willing to feel like garbage at work the next day to watch boxing.
Yeah, that's valid. I'm on the East Coast so I'm not sure I'll be making it to the end tonight. Early morning, long day tomorrow. Wish they would've started where we could've had an 8/9 PM main event time, even if they had to put it on ESPN2 instead of ESPN due to baseball.
Thanks man, I figured they were competing with something. It's just bad timing for exposure for the worlds most exciting fighter. Pac and even Nonito got their due, but inoue fights at strange times for casuals and it's a shame. Hey I get up for his home cards and am excited to do so, but I know friends, who if he was on in primetime from time to time at least, would be interested in watching after seeing.
Not throwing shade at this card, I'm having fun! But when you are watching hype prospect fights and having fun as opposed to the last two nights something is terribly wrong.
Begging Turki and surviving took over this weekend and it's sad. Too much money on the line at the high end to incentivize any risk. Rolly was the only one who really pulled deep....let that sink in for a hot second. Jfc
Vargas - Leon up next, unless they decide to throw the swing bout in the mix.
I got into boxing watching og vargas...what an insane rollercoaster. That Trinidad fight made me a lifetime fan. What courage for basically a kid.
I don't really have favorite fighters and am not bothered by legitimate outcomes...but I have to admit a sort of soft spot for emiliano. If he ends up fighting for a title I may have to set up an old school boxing gathering with the lure of booze and food. Didn't use to have to do that lol
That was an awesome fight...shame on the rest of the weekend...shame. inoue doesn't seem to care about anything but being a warrior and this kid is also a future world champ. Best fight I've seen in a while!
Real fnf vibes, nobody fighting scared making millions, nobody hiding what I know must be chicken wings under their hats.
I dont mind the fights they have tried to put on in general, but this begging his excellency stuff is rubbing me just the wrong way.
Top Rank events have way too long a gap between fights
Boxing needs to learn from UFC
I think because they are waiting for main event start times man. It's not that bad given that. There were short fights on the undercard
Top fighter on the planet to watch entertainment wise. Win or lose...high level shootout at max speed. What's not to like? These lower weight fights have always been amazing and we have missed bangers with the bias. Its nuts
Darn it's hard to time ending beer and starting homemade chicken fingers to inoue fights.
Should have went with nachos and pico lol much more versatile
This is another fun fight so far! My wife is a proper sport watching boxing and really has grown to like good fights. I turned boxing off friday halfway through the main event(free lol) and she suggested to turn it off last night. I don't think either of us made a bad decision. We are both having fun tonight :)
Why Morrell wouldnt try the body a few rounds ago is beyond me...that is for sure how you slow down the pressure he's under. His defense is pretty bad to. He has a heart though
Adames should win this if there’s no corruption going on.
Phew at least only mild corruption lol At least he kept his belt. Tbf there were a lot of straight up weird rounds there where I was wondering why this was a championship fight.
Benavidez doesn't have big power at 75, but up here he reminds me of Brandon Rios when he was at 135 - granite chin, accurate, crazy workrate.
That's a cool comparison, cheers!
Heart and one hell of a chin.
This would be a totally different fight had Morrell committed to the body early on.
Ya man. He is still making it interesting in spots, but this is a 2 minute beatdown almost every round
