Not interested in seeing him fight ever again.
Agreed... most boring BS fight imaginable. I would rather watch Youtube videos of solo syncronised swimming.
Championship backwards running races, that's where Hughie's future glory lies.
Crazy how we were told this was going to be a war yet the ref wouldn't let the fighters go toe-to-toe. Joshua was always going to outbox Parker and deserved the win but I will always wonder what the fight could have been.
Seeing the refereeing for this and previously Takam, Wilder should be worried about fighting Joshua in Britain.
It was also one of the most disrepectful crowds I have ever been in, relentlesssly booing the non-UK fighters even when the fights were over.
Parker has failed to follow the fight plan in more than one fight, which must be frustrating for Barry. Still, maybe he needs a trainer who's less like family & more like an ass-kickin' boss.
Or maybe a sports psychologist needs to be added to the mix, can you train heart into somebody? I don't know.
Johnny Fisher sells a lot of tickets in London. He can headline a few thousand capacity. Eddie knows that, that's why he pushes him, despite him not bring very good.
that's why they robbed Allen.
If all these trash decisions are incompetent judging, why do they always favour the A side? If it was incompetence, the bad decisions would be pretty much evenly split. The disproportionate amount is pretty much proof that promoters are hand in hand with judges.
I'm sick of this rubbish, you could tell this fight was rigged by the way the ref picked on Allen yet allowed Fisher to hold his glove in Allen's face. Then the split decision to try make it seem legit.
Parker not being allowed to fight on the inside when he fought Joshua.
Joshua allowed to continue vs Dubois after the fight was already waived off.
That's just a couple of examples that spring immediately to mind.
I'm tempted to stop paying for fights because of this constant BS with Eddie's fighters.
If the Bud man cant generate enough money to pay himself in his own backyard maybe they should move it to Australia were it should of been in the first place considering Horn is the champ and Bud is the contender. At the very least Horn will sell out an arena and alot of aussies would buy ppv.
And Kiwis too. Horn and Parker came up through the ranks together and often fought on the same card so Jeff has good support in NZ too. I'd love this fight to be in Aus and would definitely fly over for it.
Glenn Rushton has a point, Jeff is still a developing fighter and could very well be better in a rematch.while Pac is past his peak now. The Pac fight was Horn's first at that level & regardless of the decsion, you can't deny he stepped up.
Before the first fight there was a lot of talk about how Funeka had knocked Horn down in the 3rd round of their fight and no mention of how Jeff got straight back up and TKO'd Funeka in the 6th
As we saw after the 9th in the Pac fight, this is a guy who recovers, kerps his cool and doesn't stop coming.
Anything could happen in a rematch, I'd love to see it happen.
Horn won against Manny... it may have been a controversial win but Horn won and FFS get over it. A few of us flew to Australia for the fight because we had been following Jeff's career since he first came here to NZ to fight. We weren't sure he could do it but definitely knew he wasn't getting knocked out in 4 rounds like so many 'experts' on here predicted.
We were getting a bit of friendly heckling by some Aussies for being Horn supporters BTW. It wasn't a stadium of 50,000 Horn supporters, there was a huge Pac fan base there too. Those hecklers were pretty quiet at the end too lol.
Before the Pac fight, I remember reading so many comments about Ali Funeka knocking Horn down like that was evidence he was easy to beat. I was at that fight too, Jeff got straight up from that body shot and knocked Funeka TFO shortly after... people forgot that bit.
Anyway, Crawford is a very good boxer and we'll see how Jeff goes. My mind says no but my heart hopes for an upset. Just stop whining about the Pac fight, it is history and Jeff won. F*cking constant robbery comments make you sound like a bunch of butt-hurt crybabies.
It amazes me how some has jumped on the Horn bandwagon. He got beat by an aging Pacquiao. Crawford won’t have any problems.
Let it go... Horn won a controversial decision and has since defended the belt. Everybody can move on now.
Looking forward to seeing Horn vs Crawford, 2 decent fights for Australasia in less than a month!
I do hope so, looking forward to witnessing a war!
Although, before anybody else points it out - Evander got himself disqualified against Kevin at the '84 Olympics and would have won if he had kept his head.
Parker can win this, will he win this is the big question. I'm flying all the way from NZ to Cardiff to see for myself.
Go Joe! I wanna see you screw up everybody's plans for a Wilder / Joshua super fight!
But no detonating on his chin... as far as tactics go... no... ew.
Got my tickets and will be flying over from New Zealand to watch the fight. I've been following Horn's career for a couple of years and can't wait to see how he goes against Manny :)
Here's a few fullstops you might wanna scatter around your chatter champ..........
Then maybe I can take you seriously, but i doubt it!
Haha! this cracked me up.
Maybe if Horn loses to Crawford but why would he risk his Vegas payday & potential big money rematch with Pac to fight Mundine?
It's probably an OK plan 'B' just for the money 'cause Aussies love seeing Mundine get a hiding.
F*ck you Lonergan! You are in a country with real sports! with real champions! U.S.A!!! Nobody gives a sh*t about your Kangaroo boxing! or commonwealth games!
Lonergan is a true hard man who used to be a professional league player, which is a tough sport. He once famously got knocked out during a game and got back up, shook it off and kept playing.
LOL! Not much EVER comes out of such a big country Australi, and then they send this little gay school teacher who's nothing more than a kiwi turd to take on one of the worlds greatest P4P? All Horns fans are little turds too. Little teeny tiny smelly turds. ;)
Really? You do realise that Kiwis and Aussies are from entirely different countries eh?
'All Horn fans are little turds too'
Wow... what are you doing here, killing time 'til puberty?
I'd love to see a rematch. Been a fan of Jeff Horn every since he started fighting over here in NZ 2 or 3years back. I was at Vector Arena when he beat Funeka in December & flew to Australia for the Pacquiao fight. FYI - There was a decent Pacquiao fan-base at Suncorp that day, a great turn out by the Filipino community & lots of Aussies in Team Pacquiao T-Shirts. We were getting a friendly ribbing from some Aussies next to us for being Horn supporters lol. It certainly wasn't a crowd of 51K Horn supporters.
In regards a rematch, people here have rightly pointed out that Pacquiao will now have the measure of Jeff and should be able to finish him. One thing to remember though, this was Jeff's first fight at this level & he is getting better every fight while Pacquiao is now fighting to hold on to what he's got. That's why I would love to see a rematch, anything could happen!
The only problem i have with this is that while Hearn says Wilder should be making loads more money....hes the one saying Wilder isnt worth the money and should take the super small split when it comes to fighting Joshua. If you pay the man what hes worth...then he might start to listen to what you say.
To be fair, Hearn's job is to get the best deal for AJ and it's up to Wilder's promoters to push back.
I've also been saying for a long time that Parker needed to make changes if he is going to regain a world title.
However, like a previous poster, who does he choose next? A lot of the all-time great trainers are gone or too-old now, and we seem to be entering an era of specialists.
I have also been saying Parker needs to up his aggression in the ring, and settle on a style - so he needs a trainer that will fit him for those purposes.
Must confess I didn't realise Barry was a former fighter. I have always admired Parkers activity and willingness to travel, so I hope that continues.
Regardless, a healthy, competitive HW division is good for boxing.
Yes Kevin Barry is from a boxing family and as a kid, I remember watching him fight Holyfield in the 1984 Olympics. You're absolutely right about Parker's aggression and he also has a problem with not following the game plan which must have been frustrating for Barry. A new trainer isn't going to make a blind bit of difference if Parker continues to ignore their strategy once the bell rings.
Parker's last chance to show he belongs in with the big dogs. I'm still waiting on him to show any destructiveness in a fight. From the fights I've seen, Parker has never shown championship ability and desire. Getting that belt he had looks awfuly suspicious. Whyte WILL try to take his head off. Whyte will show up ready. Not sure how Parker shows up besides wanting to survive. Will be a good fight, and say a lot about both fighters going forward.
If a real fighter shows up in Parker (not just a boxing survivor) this could go either way. If it sticks to past performances Whyte takes Parker down. Parker hasn't shown much of a mean streak nor a killer instinct. :boxing:
Have to agree and I'm a Parker fan from NZ. Joe needs to step up and prove he deserves to be on the same stage now. Another fight like the last 4 and he's more Shane Cameron than David Tua.... although at least Shane Cameron's fights were mostly entertaining.
Wilder better demand David Fields as the referee at the very least if he can not get a Nevada official to oversee this contest in the UK. Fields has officiated Joshua-Klitschko & Wilder-Ortiz -- a bit early in the stoppage for A.J vs. Klistchko but Wladimir was already dropped and hurt, so I give him a pass.
Hearn's probably already shopping for a ref who will nullify Wilder's right hand.
