Every athlete thinks that "their era" was better than the others....you can find that pretty much across all the major sports in America.
It's also proven that athletes have gotten bigger, stronger and faster over the years so in regards to Duran's comments I'm not to sure how true that is about today's fighters not being able to compete in his era. I'd be willing to bet that it'd be the other way around.
Bout time somebody spoke up on these shenanigans that Top Rank is parading around over there....Fury has fought 2 guys in the top 10 since 2015. That means in the last 4 years he's been fighting bottom tier competition. If he actually fights Wilder in February I see him getting stopped under 9. After getting his eye blown out by a journey man there's no telling if that fight will happen now.
If it doesn't I'd love to see the winner of Ruiz Vs Joshua II take Fury's spot and face Wilder early next year as long as he gets past Ortiz in his next fight.
Never want to see another man in a position I wouldn’t want to be In. Does no good kick’n a man while he’s down. Glad to see he’s back with his fam #Blessings
"If he dies...he dies" Gotta love the confidence from Mikey but I just don't see how he wins on points, let alone by ko like he suggested. Definitely tuning in to see what happens though #ManDown
Let's be honest...is anybody really looking forward to watching Fury vs. Schwartz?? I can't recall one exciting fight Fury has ever been in aside from the Wilder fight which got him his deal with ESPN. I like to see knockouts when I'm watching the hw division, if I want to see a technical fight I'll watch that in the lower weight divisions. Wilder vs AJ is the fight the masses want to see....Hopefully in 2020 Santa can make that happen for us.
Whyte is just sounding ridiculous at this point. I understand he's a character and sounds off at every chance he gets but sometimes you have to call a spade a spade. This comment is bogus and I'd like to see him step in the ring with Fury or Ortiz and see what happens. My money would be on either of them...not on Whyte. I think Breazeale would even give him a run for his money tbh
I wish Spence nothing but the best, he'sa good straight ip guy. However I don't think he can have the type of career that big ppv stars like Mayweather had. He's already almost 30 now with only 1 credible win and extremely long stretches of inactivity for a fighter his age. The weight cut will also take its toll on him sooner or later and it will decrease his stamina and punch resistance.
And don't overlook Mikey, yea Spence's clearly the favorite, but it's not over until it's over.

Mayweather was already 28 years old when he had his first PPV with Gatti. Spence just turned 29 and is headlining his first PPV. Mayweather just had his final PPV recently after the age of 40 and that came after multiple long spans of leaving the sport due to "retirement". Spence has plenty of time to etch his name in the record books. Gotta be patient grasshopper
Spence outboxed the boxer when he fought Mikey and he out bullied the bully when he fought Porter. He said he was going to outbox Mikey....that's what he did.
He said he was going for the knockout again Porter....that's what he did. Brought the fight to him all night.
If they did rematch I'm sure he could make it easier and outbox him but the dog in him makes him just want to fight it out. Great fight for both competitors but I though Spence clearly won. #FOTY Candidate
No need to go back and compare him to anyone, that's always a slippery slope. I do know this...Wilder is the most devastating puncher of this generation and it's not even close. If you like exciting fights and knockout's then he's your guy.
Can't wait for this fight...I'll be in attendance for this one at the Staples Center. I don't think Spence will stop Porter but if he was able to I think that would clearly separate him from the rest of the pack at 147.
Shawn's a dog and has never been in a fight where someone has been able to make him stop coming.
Best move the Champ could've made!! I'm all about expanding the sport but fighting on Dazn which still haven't released how many subs they have would definitely decrease his exposure and you can't go wrong with Al Haymon, he's a genius!
Exposure of the sport to new fans....that’s whats needed to grow the sport again. PBC couldn’t have picked a better partner than FOX....better than ESPN and certainly better than NBC. Teaming PBC up with the NFL is proving to be a winner. Well done Al Haymon....well done. Let’s take it back to the Wide World of Sports era and then some
Couldn't have said it better myself. It's gonna be hard to stop this train with all the steam they've got behind them with Fox.
Flint town native! Proud of all her accomplishments and for making women's boxing relevant again. 2 time gold medalist and in only 8 fights she's already unifying the division. Wearing blue braids in her head to bring attention to the fact that Flint's water still has lead in it and although it's not a national story anymore she's not letting people forget. #Salute #GWOAT
When I'm watching the heavyweight division I want to see Knockout's....not someone pitty patting around the ring like Fury does. You ain't Ali foo lol...he's boring in my opinion. Give me Wilder all day over him
Mf's be on they laptop at home hating in they draws lolol, Spence is beating who they put in front of him handily and is always respectable. Great person to carry the torch for boxing #ManDown
Great for the sport...for years boxing fans needed HBO and Showtime. Now we have premium content on network television. Gives the sport a chance to bring in more fans and grow the sport. Definitely a good look & I'll be attending the fight as well. I may even order it. I've spent $75 in a lot worse ways in the past.
Y'all sound really angry with claressa for some odd (racist) reason!? However, y'all know damned well ain't no stiff, robotic german gonna come over here and whip this black woman. Sorry to upset y'all, but this will be just like joe louis vs. max schmeling II
It's no mystery...But they say if you don't have any haters you're not doing something right. So I get it
Mikey was champion at 140...he's only technically moving up one weight class. So all this talk about a mismatch sounds like some bs. People will do anything not to give Spence the credit he'll deserve for beating a Top 5 lb for lb guy. Can't wait for this fight!
