I don't think so, IMO Valero showed last night his power at LW is not as good as it was ar SFW...I will say though Valero impressed the hell out of me with his ability to adjust to the situation, he has heart and contrary to what most thought he can BOX!!!!!
This guy is going to be a superstar, but lets not overhype him just yet
No Brainer Margarito slaughters Kahn with legal handwraps....
Margarito has an iron jaw that has only been shattered once by Mosley...He throws a lot of punches and would make Kahn brawl with him....
I don't see Kahn being able to stand up to him very long
Its a sport with a business side...I mean no one goes into this just to fight except maybe as an amateur......
On a good note these days fighters are getting screwed over less showing that they are becoming smarter on the business aspect...That helps greatly for when they retire and need top venture to other things...
Back in the day guys made what they made and usually found out before it was too late they were broke and had no idea on what to do next
actually many guys use 10oz gloves to hit mitts
and for sparring
not always.
TKO is crap
and we have our MX glove that Gamboa and others have been using that is very much a punchers glove Cleto is
no
we do have a glove that protects the hand (Protex3)
right on
Everlast has three gloves it uses now though
Actually I was responding to what and how he posted...But thanks for trying to act like a know it all and throw out an opp for spam....
Was giving basic examples and not trying to give a gym lesson so he kind of got the idea...
well until there is some proof why do you take the time to make threads like this? Until there is something to show proof of cheating then it is not a valid topic..
WTF does Roger Mayweather have to do with it? If Floyd Jr said Pacquiao was an Alien then Roger would swear he seen Pacquiao glowing in the dark.....
8-10 oz gloges are nnot for hitting the bag...The bag has a lot more resistance and spring reaction then the human body.....
14-16 oz gloves are for the bag (When you go down to 8-10 oz gloves you will feel like a speed demon)...
As for the type of gloves (The example you used w Mayweather/DLH) certain fighter prefer has to do with hands..
Power punchers like Cleto Reyes or TKO...
Other fightewrs like Everlast (Many fighters who have had hand injuries)
Even though the regulation gloved are all the same weight it is where the padding is situatied...Some ;like Reyes put more toward the back of the glove while Everlast pads around the knuckle area more....
he should hav gotten the nod on chicago when he fought diaz...
man that was 2 or 3? years ago...
u think the long lay-off he just had would be beneficial to him? or would just make things harder for el terible?
thoughts?
I think it was just the quality of fighter added with the experience of Morales that made the fight competitive not much to do with what Morales has left in him....
His last loses were not just losses but embaressments...Morales aged overnight...Happens at that weight especially...Those guys rely so much on speed and movement in the lower weight classes soon as it starts to slip and they are not physically able to move up to higher weights suited for the adjustments it is all over...
EG- Barrera Vs Kahn....
Morales was a great fighter and has given us some of the most exciting fights in the last 20 years but to try and keep at it now would be nothing more then an accident waiting to happen
Berto takes tis by TKO...Kahn will give Berto trouble early for sure but Andre has been vastly improving his game...Plus he has power on his side added with the better competition...
Kahn has been severy hyped up due to his wins over Barrera (a very faded Barrera), Kotelnik and Salita.....
Berto is no P4P superstar but he has the goods to beat Kahn
I don't expect him to do much but it would not be a big shock if he advances...Green has very good power and a good chin...His boxing skills are under rated but his only loss is to Miranda and IMO it was more being a bit stage frightened then Miranda...He dropped Edison but failed to capitalize on it......
He has matured a bunch since then...He is always dangerous so it is possible
Tua was/is more of a one punch power puncher...he is not very accurate and can not sustain the power throughout the fight....Struggled big with quality opponents
Tyson a very powerful puncher but never a 1 punch artist (Except against early questionable comp)....Tyson had the old "Speed Kills" advantage and he was very pin point with his shots, threw punches in bunches etc..
That is why as he got older and lazy his ko's came later on or not at all.....
Started off good but then the writer started putting too much of his personal feelings into it....Kevin Lole has the habit of that...Mistaking his articles for conversations between buddies in Pubs...I also question the 3 gram story about the Hockey player...Almost impossible for the human hand to notice such a minute weight differential especially in a Hocky stick that is being held with very padded gloving....
He does have interesting points about the way the whole issue was handled by Margarito though and camp....
\
Personally IMO this is old old news, Margarito was punished for what he did...;.I am not going to Boycott a PPV event he is on the undercard of over it though
Speed was Tuas biggest enemy in his prime...David for as hard as he hit was not that fast....He also used poor defense a lot when fighting the distance costing him points and rounds....
Tua was always dangerous and you always wondered if his bout would end on the next puinch but he just lacked that little bit extra
