I just wonder if Cotto isn't through or on the decline. Two brutal ass whippings in the last 16 months and plenty of problems.
I'd have to see something from him to have faith in him again.
I agree. His career reminds me of Jermain Taylor's (with the Mosley fight being the first Hopkins fight, the Margarito fight being the first Pavlik fight, the Clottey fight being the Jeff Lacy fight and the Pacquiao fight being the Froch/Abraham fights).
Who is it that has the stamina problems? Valero or Cotto?
Its not really his stamina that's the problem. He just tends to give up and start backpeddling to a decision. And its worked most of the time.
I don't think so, IMO Valero showed last night his power at LW is not as good as it was ar SFW...I will say though Valero impressed the hell out of me with his ability to adjust to the situation, he has heart and contrary to what most thought he can BOX!!!!!
This guy is going to be a superstar, but lets not overhype him just yet
No...... Valero is a great boxer but take it easy on the guy... way to much over hype.
Let him prove himself against proper opposition then we can tell. DiMarco was straight scared and gunshy. The main thing I take from Valero that impressed me was his heart and work output. But he leaves his hands too low and lets his chin hanging out to much....
I wish the guy the best.. he is exiting and everything but still let him prove himself and keep walking up the ladder.
Hmmmm. I forget....
Didn't Cotto just get his ass whooped by a smaller, faster guy? :dunno:
I don't think Valero will have much problems against the chin of Cotto.
berto and cotto would stop valero, valero is too small. now if valero gets ariza as his nutritionist and he gets some of that "special" blend that pacgwire drinks, then maybe.
In his current state, Valero can beat Cotto.
Valero will need to refine his skills some more to beat Berto though. Berto is basically a younger Mosley.
berto , cotto , bradley , marquez......
how the hell is valero even mentioned with those guys?
david diaz beats edwin valero.
I think Valero does well against Diaz. Bigger and faster fighters will give him a lot of problems though
ask shane mosley malignaggi lovemore ndou and clottey he won all of those fights in 12 round dec. you obviously watch boxing i dont think your as dumb as some of your posts make you out to be you know that cotto has fought 12 round fights and even knocked guys out late in fights (judah) 11. valero had a great fight and fights like funeca jmm are interesting match ups but lets wait before we start calling out ww champions when valero hasnt even fought a jr ww yet.
Didn't Pacquiao, Mosley and Whitaker move up in weight classes and be effective. Why is it impossible for Valero to do the same? I probably should've included Clottey in the poll too, because he doesn't have any power and he shells up too much. I think Cotto is the toughest out of that three. You happy now?
What if Cotto couldn't knock Valero out? How would he beat him then?
