My father is almost 80 and still believes he will hit the lottery one day. I can't really say sh!t either cause it could happen, but the odds aren't looking too good for him.
With that said, I believe Stewart can give Cotto the correct gameplan to beat Pac, but it's still doesn't look good.
margo is willing to prove the critics wrong , that is all!
I agree, but at the same time he should avenge the Mosley loss for making him look like a little bbiiiaatttch. As for the Cotto thing... that should be #2 on his list. I think Marg will still give Cotto problems, and has the mental edge cause he beat Cotto... but first talk sh!t and try to avenge the man that took your dignity.
cotto should snatch up a couplemore belts at 154 and go out on top..no need to get another beating...hes been thru his wars and is a class act..id hate to see him all bloody again
I think he should def fight at least two more fights at 154 then he should fight anyone of these:
Pac
May
Marg
S. Martinez
P. Williams
Maybe even Berto
Yes I can see him loosing to all of them, but then again I can see him doing well. I say go out like a warrior! Healthwise it might not be the right thing to do, but knowing Cotto this is exactly how he will end his career. He might not even fight two tuneups before he takes on an elite fighter.
Angulo, Kirkland, Martinez and even Cintron all murk him too.
Angulo - Has the best chance out of your list, but wears a gay collar so no.
Martinez - Even though I'm a fan... he doesn't fight aggressive enough. He's more of a boxer.
The others ...umm no. :boxing:
Floyd would demolish him
dont even know why him and pac are up there
obvious answer is margarito
Floyd is up there cause he his not a pressure fighter, and got rocked in his fight against Mosley. Also because Cotto devours boxer types. Don't get me wrong I think May would win, but Cotto WOULD give him trouble. Also Cotto outboxed Mosley.
sorry man..but floyd-cotto wouldnt even be close right now..cotto is done at the elite level..he should fight spinks,angulo,etc,etc..floyd would most likely stop cotto
Seriously, I agree that he should fight either Spinks, Angulo or Berto next and maybe one more so he can get use to Emmanuel, but after that he should fight an elite fighter just to see.
Crappy opponents at that weight class. Calderon is more or less one dimensional. It just so happens that its hard to beat a guy who's always on the run.
Doesn't make him a "master", it just means he has a style designed to spoil fights.
LMFAO... A style designed to spoil fights!!!! :lol1::lol1::lol1:
I really can't stop laughing....
wtf??margo and manny already bulldozed his ass..and floyd would white wash him..he should stay away from all 3
Larry, that doesn't mean shit. Styles are styles. They said that shit about Foreman...and no way am I comparing him to May, but May would have to bully Cotto to destroy him like you think. On points though it would be closer than any of you think.
Now you know why Ricans get a lot of shit for being Nationalistic fans?? Cause of stupid threads like this.
First of all waz good Chicano? How is this a stupid thread when both Floyd and Calderon are masterful boxing technicians???
He can beat Margaito at this stage. People forget margarito is not the same guy either. He did not look good against Mosley or Garcia at all and his power was not there in either fight. Cotto would win an easy decision if he sticks with the game plan and just jab to keep Margarito away from him.
I agree with this, but I can also see Marg coming in with more confidence against a previously beaten Cotto. I think it will all depend on Cotto's mentality the day of the fight.
Dumb thread. All three of those guys would whip his ass without breaking a sweat. Cotto needs to stick to the Gomez's and Foremans and let the big dogs play with each other.
:tool: Please continue with poll...
Endi.com
in a interview miguel cotto states that he's not held in high standard in puerto rico or in the world of boxing. He said because of his personality and said that he would not change his character, and will continue to be the way he is!
Mad propz. He doesn't need to change just for people to like him. He has/makes enough money...
the difference being those ppl actually existed ali and tyson were both heavyweights and they existed. now there is no such thing as the ivan calderon u described. u get it???
So you are telling me that I can't talk about fantasy matchups? GTFOH... I can't even count how many times I have seen this mentioned on NSB. :poke:
Probably Marg, Floyd, Pac
Pac is just to fast and explosive for Cotto too much for him to handle. Marg could go the same way as last time but Cotto was good in the first half, curious to see how both of them fight again. And Floyd would be a tough fight and he would probably win but I have always like that styles matchup for Cotto, he could give May some problems.
^^^ Exactly.
lol, i love conjecture...since tht person doesnt exist and will never exist, y tlk about it???
Cause this is a boxing forum... Ever heard of someone bring up Tyson vs Ali or SRR vs Tito or..... or....:cool2:
^This
Cotto-Kirkland would be a great fight, but it's hard for me to envision a scenario where Kirkland loses to Cotto.
Mayweather-Cotto would be a good fight, but Floyd would do anything he has to and would probably figure Cotto out.
Nope Cotto has the skills to beat all three. Including Kirky boy.
cotto seems to get beaten up in all his fights now, these 3 guys destroy cotto andcotto will still get undeserved chance after chance to face another opponent until he winds up like arturo gatti,
Undeserved chance? He lost to PLASTERito, and an ATG. Undeserved chance ok...
One thing we can agree on is the Lakers will win!!!! :boxing:
I don't see how he could miss Cotto.
I don't see Cotto being too aggressive when he's beaten to the punch consistently.
Even iron-chinned Mosley got shy against Mayweather.
I'd give Cotto a definite chance against plenty of guys. Just not the top 5 at 154. Or the top 3 at 147.
Fair enough...we shall see. :boxing:
Calderon is the JR FW version of Floyd except that he is not that big mouth (literally) that can sells fight. :)
Agreed. More people need to watch his fights he is a master of the sport.
He does what he needs to do to win, he is the general for the most part in the ring in all of his fights. That guy was way bigger than Calderon, what he's supposed to stand in there and give the guy his only chance at winning? People that talk like that are just really funny to listen to.
Good post. :boxing::boxing::boxing:
F-ck this thread, you need to be banned from the forum for even suggesting Calderon could mythically beat Floyd.
Thanks for the input, and for bumping this thread. Nothing else to see here continue with the discussion everyone... :stupid:
