good matchup, huck looked very past it against kucher in his last fight
To be fair, Huck had to deal with a broken right hand from the 4th round onwards.
Is this for a title shot? Because the last time I checked Tony Bellew had it..
I'm sorry, I forgot to include further details from the press release.
It says the WBC will recognize the winner as co-champion and that Bellew and the winner must face each other in their next fight. If one of them doesn't go through with that "unification" for whatever reason, the other one will be sole champion.
On tape delay.
The actual fight live on ARD and Primetime is at about 3 PM Eastern Time.
Not quite, it's on at 5:30 PM Eastern Time/2:30 PM Pacific Time, actually.
Fukk. That means I have to stay offline all day.
What time live in Denmark will it be Pacific US time?
22:30 CET translates to 1:30 pm Pacific Time... you'll have to stay off the boxing websites for quite a long time.
That's impressive.
It beat out the flyweight fight between Koki Kameda and Daisuke Naito, which peaked at just over 52%.
Bat, is RTL a PPV station?
Of course not, RTL is free-to-air tv just like ARD (Abraham vs Dirrell), ZDF, and SAT.1 (Gamboa on Saturday).
Pay TV has never had substantial success in Germany.
TY sir, and it breaks records in what sense? Highest ratings ever for Boxing, sports? Or is the record broken for the year?
Ratings record of the year so far.
Second highest viewing figure for any Klitschko fight (highest was Wlad vs Austin with 12.9 million), and number six in regards to their market shares (Wlad vs Brewster II had 56.8% in the evening but Vitali vs Lewis achieved much more of course: 83.4% at 5 o'clock in the morning or so, with 4.6 million viewers at that ungodly hour).
Now their last two remaining good fighters, Boytsov and Chakhkiev, are hopefully free to sign with a good promoter.
Sauerland, K-2, Main Events or Warren would be good choices.
I hope they don't sign with Don King or Ahmed Oner.
I don't know about Chakhiev but Mr Kluch's contract with Boytsov does not expire until November 2016 and he's announced his intent to make an example of Boytsov by not letting him out of that contract because, in his opinion, Boytsov is a freeloader who spends too much time in Hamburg's bars and is unwilling to fight.
Spot on there! Why anyone would want to sit up to watch this fight is beyond me.
You don't have to sit up, it's an afternoon fight in the US and the live undercard on CBS starts at 3 pm ET, that's 8 pm in the UK if I'm not mistaken.
The first fights were good, yes, but that trilogy is over. It would be much cooler to see Abraham against some other opponents now.
Come on, they haven't had a draw yet! ;-)
I so wish for Abraham to knock out Stieglitz (I'm talking about a REAL Abrahammer KO as in his wins over Gevor, Ayala, and Jermain Taylor - I wonder if he can still get that done?) to end their rivalry for good this time!
man,you haven't seen rocha fight huh?he's never been knocked out for a reson.the only way hasegawa will win is if he boxes from the outside and thats if he can withstand the pressure from rocha as well as his body atack.i see it as a 10% chance hasegawa will keep his belt.
Thanks for playing...
:Flush:
A fight in a neutral territory sounds good in theory but I doubt it'll be anywhere near as lucrative as an Abraham fight in Germany.
There are lots of Germans living/spending their holidays on Majorca (jokingly referred to as Germany's "17th state"), hence the Sauerland proposal.
That's no monster TV rating by German standards at all, even if you exclude the Klitschkos with their 10 million and more viewers.
Marco Huck had 6.3 million viewers for his heavyweight debut against Povetkin, and over 5 million tuned in when he was fighting Brian Minto. In fact, Saturday's 3.36 million are Huck's lowest TV rating since he has become WBO champion! Have a look at these stats:
Povetkin-Huck (ARD, 25.02.2012): 6.30 million / 24.7% market share
Huck-Minto (ARD, 01.05.2010): 5.04 / 25.6%
Huck-Afolabi I (ARD, 05.12.2009): 4.80 / 23.8%
Huck-Nakash (ARD, 02.04.2011): 4.50 / 18%
Huck-Richards (ARD, 13.03.2010): 4.31 / 22.3%
Huck-Lebedev (ARD, 18.12.2010): 4.25 / 15.5%
Huck-Cunningham (ARD, 29.12.2007): 4.25 million
Huck-Ramirez (ARD, 29.08.2009): 4 million / 20.1%
Huck-Garay (ARD, 16.07.2011): 3.91 / 21.8%
Huck-Godfrey (ARD, 21.08.2010): 3.80 / 21.7%
Huck-Afolabi II (ARD, 05.05.2012): 3.72 / 19.4%
Huck-Rossi (ARD, 22.10.2011): 3.61 / 17.1%
Huck-Arslan (ARD, 03.11.2012): 3.36 / 21.7%
You could tell the injuries were taking their toll in the Arslan fight. Didn't look the same. Still weird. He will be back though, if the rumor at the end is true about his finances. IDK if I'd trust that gossip 100% though. How'd they know unless it really is bad?
It appears to be true. Thanks to an extramarital affair, Hernandez has to pay child support (4245 € once plus 416 € on a monthly basis) and on top of that he's lost a huge sum of money (that was meant for the tax authorities) to false friends in the past.
According to Bild, practically his entire purse for the Arslan fight (250,000 €) was used to pay for these tax obligations.
damn i love braekhus. . . she is SO FINE! anybody know where her parents are from? lol she's a little too tan to be ethnic norwegian. . . although having lived in norway myself, i do know they are on there way to being just as diverse as America, or U.K. . . Anyway, I can't get enough of this girl! Is she a dyke?
Wikipedia: "Originally from Cartagena, Colombia, she was adopted as a 2-year-old by Norwegian parents and raised in the Sandviken area of Bergen."
he losing that purse then. This fight will play out similar to the Lemieux/Ndam fight, he's getting dropped multiple times.
Saunders said he'd give Lemieux his purse if Lemieux knocks him out.
I don't think Lemieux will get the purse if he only knocks him down multiple times and then wins a decision like against N'Dam.
According to a Polish website and other sources in Europe, the IBF has decided Adamek will be replaced by Bryant Jennings.
Jennings zastąpi Adamka w walce z Pulewem?
and here:
http://boxingnews.com.ua/ru/novosti/4569-adameka-v-boju-s-pulevym-mozhet-zamenit-dzhennings
Its speculation hence the question mark at the end of the title. Wouldn't be suprised if it was "leaked" by Kathy Duva trying to get another fighter they promote in the eliminator.
What's no speculation though is that the IBF has ranked Bryant Jennings at #3 in their most recent ratings update this past Monday while Adamek has been dropped to #11

just a reminder how corrupt the hernandez-cunningham first fight was. the ref stopped the fight because their was a cut that wasn't bleeding but cunningham was starting to dominate so he had to save the man he was paid to help win. this was the same ref that refused to stop the abraham-miranda fight when abraham's face was about to fall off. corruption and boxing wheeeee
Nope. You got http://boxrec.com/media/index.php/Mickey_Vann and http://boxrec.com/media/index.php/Randy_Neumann mixed up.
Thank God this is his last fight with Maori tv.
It is not. The Cameron fight was PPV and the free-to-air three fight deal began AFTER it which means there's TWO fights left.
“Maori Television did put a complementary free-to-air proposal to Duco that would have enabled the Tua v Cameron bout to be broadcast free-to-air for all New Zealanders,” Mr Mather says. “Unfortunately, Duco was unable to make that free-to-air option work.
“After the Fight of the Century, however, Maori Television will be the exclusive New Zealand television broadcaster for David Tua’s next three fights as he continues his quest to win a world heavyweight championship title. We look forward to allowing all New Zealanders the opportunity to see David Tua fight at the highest level, and possibly for a world title, free for all.”
That's what is said on the Maori TV website.
Does anyone know when the IBF mando is due?
March 5th because a fight usually needs to happen within 90 days after the purse bid and that's the last Saturday in that timeframe.
bidenko is alright & he's a journeyman like guinn & leapai. i'd pick both of them to beat bidenko. both of them have power & bidenko doesn't. bidenko & bakhtov are 2 of the better journeymen in Europe & Asian pacific region...
I can agree with most of what you're saying and Guinn has a very good record for a journeyman (maybe one should call him a gatekeeper, at least for the time when he was in his prime) but there's one thing that makes me wonder just how good Guinn still was when he fought Boytsov: he lost to Robert Hawkins! :dunno:
The only boxers Bidenko ever lost to until today were undefeated (combined record of 110-0, 82 KOs), some of them future top ten heavyweights (Virchis, Helenius), and at least one of them turned out to be a future world champion (Valuev).
Interesting development...
Will the winner of Mitchell/Arreola face the winner of Haye/Fury for the WBC title in 2014 or will they go their separate ways? Mitchell vs Arreola could also be made for the soon to be vacant WBA "regular" belt now owned by Povetkin whereas Haye vs Fury could serve as a final WBO Eliminator as well according to their current ABC rankings.
Seth Mitchell: WBA #4, WBC #2
Chris Arreola: WBA #9, WBC #3
David Haye: WBA #1, WBC #6, WBO #3
Tyson Fury: WBC #5, WBO #5
You could be right with Boytsov and Pianeta.
I'd say Cunningham based on his performance against Adamek and the fact he's never been knocked out and is relatively well known in Germany.
Uhm... Johnson fought Ottke in 1999. And lost.

He seems to have forgotten that fight or does he not want to remember it?
